Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1779
Chapter 1779: Raging Flame Territory
“Huh?”
A confused expression appeared on Grey’s face as he landed. His original intention of using his space element was to appear on the ground quietly. To his surprise, he wasn’t able to actually reach the required distance which was something he could usually achieve. He could only think of one reason, the space here was different.
He had been restrained from flying by this place already, and if not for his strong physique, he might’ve been seriously injured the second he entered this secret world. He couldn’t help but wonder if the reason the method of entering this secret world is like this due to being aware that only Magical Beasts would enter. Having such a thought isn’t out of line as this was not the first time he entered a secret world. Of all the secret worlds he has entered, this was the only one that didn’t teleport people to solid ground, rather, leaving them to their demise from the sky.
Grey calmed his mind and after getting his bearings, he picked a random direction and darted off. He had investigated the area around him with his mental sense and knew that there was nothing of importance around.
Void and the bunny leader appeared as he was rushing through the forest. Sensing the presence of the duo, Grey slowed down as he looked at the duo.
“Do you want to travel with us or should we rendezvous somewhere when it’s time to leave?” Grey’s question was directed towards the bunny leader. Since the bunny leader joined them, knowing that it was gathering an army of bunnies, Grey usually allows it to venture out on its own in places like these. With the bunny leader’s methods, it’s nearly impossible to capture it.
The bunny leader thought about it for some time before nodding its small head. It would be free to do things its way if it was alone.
Grey didn’t have any problems with this, he rummaged through his spatial storage and passed a little wooden plaque to the bunny leader.
“This is a communication device, we can use it to check on each other’s situation.”
Over the past few years, Grey has made more of these communication devices whenever he had spare time. Now he had a few lying in his spatial storage. Passing one to the bunny leader meant that he could hastily call for its help if he encountered any problems.
After getting the communication device, the bunny leader turned into a bolt of light and disappeared in another direction. It didn’t even stay any further.
With the bunny leader gone, Grey looked around and asked Void, “What should we do first?”
He was still running through the woods, however, his figure occasionally fades away, appearing a few hundred meters away. This is Grey also using his space element while still running. Since he couldn’t fly in this place, and the use of his space element was restrained, he didn’t have any choice but to run on foot. Using his space element in this manner made him multiple times faster.
Void kept quiet for some time, and only after a few seconds did he point in a certain direction.
Grey shot in the direction Void pointed him to. They’d be staying here for a while, so he wanted to use the first few days to investigate this world. He was certain that there were inhabitants in this world, and he wanted to know what they were.
It didn’t take long before Grey found the first signs of life. He was still in the forest area, and the sign of life he sensed was coming from a place a few hundred meters away from where he was standing.
Void was the one who sneaked forward to see what lay ahead, since he was smaller and had better control of his space element when compared to Grey. A few minutes later, he returned to inform Grey about meeting a tribe of people. There was nothing special about them as they were like normal humans.
Grey was a bit taken aback by this discovery, not expecting that the inhabitants of this place were normal humans. But thinking about it, he didn’t find it too strange, after all, he had communicated with countless humans born to these secret worlds. The only reason he was taken by surprise is because he expected this secret world to be inhabited by Magical Beasts and not humans since the entrance was in the Magical Beasts’ Forest.
After giving it some thoughts, Grey decided to sneak closer. According to Void, these people didn’t have high cultivation stages, with the strongest being a Peak Sage Plane Elementalist.
Grey appeared inside the tribe like a ghost. With his cultivation, there was no way anyone in the tribe could sense him as long as he didn’t want them to. He walked around the place, listening to the conversations these people were having, hoping to glean some information from them. After a while, he soon got a general information about this tribe. It was called the Crimson Fire Tribe and it was located on the outskirt of a place called Raging Flames Territory. There wasn’t much information gathered, but he was fortunate enough to chance upon a vague map in the tribe of the Raging Flames Territory. He soon come to realize just how vast this secret world was. From the vague map, he could tell that the Raging Flames Territory was hundreds of thousands of kilometers large. It would take a few weeks to cross the entire territory. This Territory is almost as large as one of the five Continents in the Aurora Continent, only larger than the Middle Continent which was the smallest.
“That thing is somewhere in the Raging Flames capital. I hope there truly aren’t Half God experts here.” Grey muttered to himself after leaving the tribe. He headed deeper into the Raging Flames Territory, his target for this expenditure was located in the central area of the territory. Sir Astarot told him that only Peak Sovereigns were present here, and he was certain that even though he couldn’t defeat one, he could escape.
