Chapter 1806: This Looks Interesting
The McCall Family were left in a restless state due to the activities of the City Lord’s Manor. Having offended them, they didn’t feel at peace knowing that the City Lord’s Manor hadn’t even tried to speak with them again since the ordeal. It was almost like the City Lord’s Manor was gathering enough strength before they attacked.
Those from the McCall Family continued conversing, and even the Old man in blue was advised to go on ahead and continue investigating the safe passage into the cave abode. Even if they don’t enter the resting place, they could at least hide from the City Lord’s Manor there.
….
The cave abode in the McCall Family.
Four more days went by without any movements, Grey was still comatose. The blood cocoon he was covered with started to give off a strange beating sound. At the moment, Grey’s figure was no longer visible. The reddish glow of the cocoon was brighter now.
Void had gone to the front of the cabin, this time he didn’t enter like the last time. He wanted to make sure he was seeing every action of Grey.
Over the past few days, the cave has been very quiet with no one making a sound. Other than the rhythmic heartbeat that was coming from the blood cocoon, there was no other sound.
Void was still enjoying the usual peace when all of a sudden he heard a new sound. Following the source of the sound, he saw that a crack had appeared on the blood cocoon. The crack was very little at first, in the space of a few seconds, the cracks spread across the cocoon like spider webs.
Ka-Cha!
The sound of something breaking and falling to the ground resounded in the cave. The blood cocoon fell to the ground, but something strange happened right after it fell. Instead of it staying on the ground, the blood that seemed to have been transformed into a type of glass turned into blood mist that was absorbed into the body of the figure that was seated cross-legged. After absorbing the blood mist, Grey still didn’t open his eyes or made any other moves.
Grey’s figure which was previously covered in blood before the cocoon appeared was spotless at the moment. His upper body was bare and his well-built figure contained a frightening amount of energy. Even without making any moves, the ferociousness of his physical body’s strength could be sensed by just staring at his bare upper body.
A few minutes went by in this fashion before Grey’s eyes snapped open. A strange glow appeared on both his eyes as they snapped open. He didn’t rush to stand up, slowly feeling the power contained within his body now, he clenched his fist and noticed the difference in this simple act. Previously, he was confident that his body couldn’t exert enough force yet to mess with space principles, but the simple act of clenching his fist a few seconds ago proved that if he used enough force, he would be able to affect it.
‘Huh?’ Grey raised a brow at the thought of something, standing up, he punched forward.
The punch was casual, but the force it contained made invisible ripples to appear in the space around Grey. This was a sign of Grey’s attack being close to destabilizing the space around.
‘At least close to an Eighth stage Sovereign now.’
From this attack alone, Grey was able to make a vague guess of what his cure physical strength was like. If he isn’t mistaken, then his body could currently unleash a force equal to that of an Eighth stage Sovereign. Of course, maybe the weaker Eighth stage Sovereigns, but it didn’t change the fact that he could fight against an Eighth stage Sovereign with just the strength of his body alone. If anyone knew about this, they would be speechless. Before refining the blood essence, Grey could already deal with Eighth stage Sovereigns with his elemental attacks, adding his powerful physique to it, he was confident it would take around half the time if not even shorter when dealing with an opponent in the Eighth stage now compared to before.
He threw a few more punches before nodding in satisfaction, checking his cultivation stage, he wasn’t surprised as he was still a Sixth stage Sovereign. However, this was not his biggest concern. His biggest concern was with his consciousness and spiritual energy. Observing it, he realized that his detection range increased significantly. If he could previously cover around seven hundred meters to around one kilometer with his mental senses, now, he could do almost double that. This wasn’t the only thing, he also noticed that he could better sense elemental particles in the air.
Grey wanted to try out his new sensory range, and without a second thought, he sent out his spiritual senses outside his body. The second this happened, it was as if he had merged into the surrounding and could properly sense everything happening.
While he was trying out his new skill, he saw something odd, making a strange expression appear on his face. He retrieved his spiritual senses before taking a glance at Void.
“Seems you’ve gained massively even if your cultivation stage didn’t improve.” Void commented when he saw Grey staring his way.
Grey chuckled while taking out a new pair of clothes from his spatial storage, before putting it on. Wearing an all black attire, he smiled at Void and nodded, “My gains are only so-so.”
Void knew that Grey wasn’t trying to brag. He didn’t say anything, looking at Grey’s eyes, he realized something, sending out his own spiritual senses outward, he noticed something too.
“Oh, this looks interesting.”
One could sense the pure amusement in Void’s voice when he spoke.
“I thought the same thing too.” Grey chuckled, knowing that Void had sensed the same thing he did a few seconds ago.
“Let’s go investigate. There’s nothing to do here any more.” Grey was already fully dressed. Void didn’t have any problems with staying here. Before leaving, Void didn’t forget to bury the bones of Jacob Vaergahl. This was a top expert who deserved to have his bones properly buried and not left unguarded like this. Being the one that benefitted from Jacob’s life work, he didn’t see any problems with burying him. In fact, Jacob could almost be regarded as his Teacher, although their time together was very short, Grey’s gains were beyond words.
