Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1846
Chapter 1846: Hiding
Grey’s last words were still reverberating in their heads. Given such an ability, they did not even think they could contain him.
“Spread out and look for them. Even with the help of this formation, I do not believe they will be able to get far. Within a hundred kilometers radius at most.” Lord Everard spoke after a few seconds in silence. Yes, he was unable to grasp how Grey was able to create such an array formation for his strange movement skill, but this proved just how terrifying this skill was. If he could take such a divine ability back to the Twilight Faction his status will surely be no lower than the Faction Leader itself given how valuable such an ability is. His chances of even breaking through to the Peak of the Sovereign Plane will also be improved thanks to the resources the Faction had.
After studying Grey’s movement ability, although he knew that it was special, he also knew that such abilities always have limitations. From his speculation, this array formation was created not too long ago, which meant that the power it could unleash will not be that great.
About seventy kilometers away from the City, above a lake, a ripple appeared in the sky as several figures came crashing into the lake.
It was just as Lord Everard speculated, this spatial array formation could not take them more than a hundred kilometers, not just that, but since the array formation was not linked to another formation, Grey, with the help of Void and the bunny leader did what could almost be said to be suicide as they navigated the vast void without a known destination. One of the risks of such teleportations is that they could genuinely appear inside a mountain or anything that is at their exit.
Appearing inside a mountain without any preparations, even for someone as powerful as Grey, he still will not be able to survive being crushed by it.
They were quite lucky that their exit was above a lake.
Grey, Void, and the bunny leader were exhausted from having to shelter all the Magical Beasts through the dangerous spatial turbulences in the void. Engaging in such a battle drained Grey, but he did not think that sheltering these many Magical Beasts would be this mentally exhausting. Luckily, they left the void quickly.
Crashing into the lake, Grey was not able to react quickly, unconsciously inhaling water. Only after inhaling water did he react, using his essence to push the water away from his body as he continued to sink into the lake. He did not even want to try to get out of the water. At the moment, all he wanted to do was rest. Not just that, he also knew they had to hide. Given how adamant Lord Everard was with killing him and taking the plaque he found, he was certain that the latter’s urge to kill him had tripled after he took these Magical Beasts with him.
At the thought of the Magical Beasts, he forcefully suppressed the sleepy feeling he was having and opened his eyes, with a flick of his hand, he covered the Magical Beasts with a bubble. He was also a Water Elementalist, so he had nothing to fear here. Only after doing this did he notice that they were already protected by Void and the bunny leader.
Looking around, he noticed his vision was restricted due to the lack of light. He could tell that they’ve sunk quite considerably for his vision to be this limited. Spreading out his Spiritual Sense, his heart almost jumped out of his throat at the sight of a massive creature swimming their way. But he calmed down after noticing that although this creature was massive, it was only a Rank Five Magical Beast, the same as an Overlord Plane Elementalist.
Continuing his investigation while still sinking into the lake which seemed unending, he noticed an underground cave. Although Grey was not certain of the size of this lake, he still got a quick view of it just as they exited the void, and the lake only looked to be around two hundred meters or so long, and about a hundred meters wide. This place can not even be compared to some of the lakes Grey had seen in his life, so he did not expect it to be this deep.
He did not think about this too much as all he had in mind right now was to rest. Hiding was also a priority and this lake surprisingly gave him both. With the underground cave present, he could take the opportunity to rest. When he got to the underground cave, he was thankful that it was enough for him and the Magical Beasts with him.
Although this underground cave was not like the other ones he had used, he had a way to isolate themselves from the water. It didn’t take long before he completed all this. After doing this, he collapsed to the ground, completely forgetting about the Magical Beasts.
The Dragons looked at Grey’s figure with much interest, they recognized him when he rushed towards them. They never expected he would be well-versed with the space element, and also be able to instantly set up a teleportation array. Unlike Lord Everard’s group, they were aware of the space element and knew about the existence of teleportation arrays.
Their bodies were currently sealed so they did not have access to their strengths. If they wanted to leave this place, they had to wait. They saw the battle Grey fought and were all in awe of his great strength. Magical Beasts worshipped strength even more so than humans, so it was easy to see just how much respect they each have for Grey, adding to the fact that he saved them from what seemed to be a certain death situation, they felt even more respectful of him.
While Grey focused on healing, Lord Everard was searching for Grey and the Magical Beasts’ whereabouts relentlessly.
