Chapter 1847: Key To A Secret
A streak of light flashed through the woods with shocking speed, after a few twists and turns, the light streak stopped below a large tree that seemed to want to stretch into the sky. The tree was around fifteen meters wide, a testament of its size.

Under the tree, a few people could be seen standing. Lord Everard and Godric were among the group resting under the tree.

“Still no news?” Lord Everard asked with a sour expression. His face turned gloomier when he saw the figure that just arrived shake his head.

“They can’t have gone far. How can you say there’s no trace of them?” Lord Everard was irate.

The figure that just arrived dropped his head, not daring to say a word. Even if he was a City Lord, compared to Lord Everard who was an Elder of the Twilight Faction, he was nothing more than dirt.

“Is there a possibility he has left?” Godric asked, his eyes showing a little worry. Grey was not an enemy he wanted out there. This is not the first time he was threatened by someone, but this was the first time he was genuinely afraid of a threat. Grey’s abilities proved that if he wanted, one on one, he could kill a Ninth stage Sovereign. This is the reason they did not separately search for Grey even though they knew he was injured.

“Impossible. I don’t know much about his strange technique, but I am certain it did not take them too far. If he were alone, I would not even bother searching, but taking those Magical Beasts will only slow him down.” Lord Everard said matter-of-factly. His speculation was not wrong. Had Grey been alone, he would not have even fought with them for that long, leaving as soon as he incapacitated the Eighth stage Sovereign who could stop him. Unfortunately, he wanted to take the Magical Beasts with him, which slowed him down.

Hearing the confidence in Lord Everard’s voice, Godric knew he was not randomly speaking and was sure of what he was saying.

“If that’s the case, we will need more manpower.” Godric said, turning his head to the City Lord who had his head down, he smiled and said, “I’m afraid we will still have to trouble City Lord’s troops in helping us search for traces of that villain. The Twilight Faction will reward you justly.”

The City Lord bowed while hurriedly waving his hand, “It’s no trouble, it’s no trouble at all. We are willing to lend a helping hand to the Twilight Faction regardless of any rewards.”

Lord Everard nodded when he heard this, feeling the pride of being an Elder from the Twilight Faction, something Grey made him forget.

It has been two hours since Grey disappeared with the Magical Beasts, and he used his authority as an Elder from the Twilight Faction to get the City Lord and a few top powerhouses in the City to help him search for Grey’s whereabouts. Regrettably, even with so many people helping, they still could not find the whereabouts of Grey or those large Magical Beasts.

One of the reasons he became even more adamant in locating Grey was not just because of him killing people from the Twilight Faction or taking the treasure Lord Everard felt belonged to him, rather, there was a strange look in both Grey and the Magical Beasts’ eyes when Grey first appeared by the Magical Beasts. It went unnoticed to most, but Lord Everard saw everything fully. If his guess was right, Grey had seen these strange Magical Beasts before, in fact, the Magical Beasts also seemed to know him. Coupling these strange Magical Beasts and Grey’s weird and unheard abilities, he felt there was something bigger happening.

Taking out an item, he sent his spiritual sense inside, a few seconds later he kept it and said, “I’ve contacted an Elder stationed close to this place to come with some people to help capture that brat. No matter what, we have to apprehend him.”

Godric was shocked when he heard this, not expecting Lord Everard to go as far as contacting his Faction for such a matter. Unknown to him, Lord Everard only decided to involve his Faction because he felt there was a shocking secret meant to be uncovered once Grey was apprehended. At first he wanted to do it alone, but after a second thought, he decided against it. Although he will most likely be mocked by the Elder he invited over, he did not care. He believed once the Elder faces Grey himself, he will understand why Lord Everard asked for help.

Lord Everard did not tell them to separately search for Grey, he even made sure to tell the City Lord to ensure none of them engages Grey, and should do everything in their power to leave and report back as soon as they find any traces of him.

….

While the mountain ranges and forests were under the scrutiny of a few hundred people searching for his whereabouts, after two hours of rest, Grey finally woke up.

Waking up, he saw the Magical Beasts staring at him. The large beady eyes of the Dragons seemed like they could pull his soul from his body if he stared at them too long.

“You’re the human that entered this place with us.” One of the Dragons opened its mouth to speak, its voice raspy and loud.

Due to the close range, Grey could not help using his hand to close his ears, only dropping them a second later after regaining himself. He just woke up after exhausting himself in a battle, hearing such a loud raspy voice as soon as he woke up threw him off-guard.

“I am Arkhos, thank you for saving our lives.” The Dragon did not seem to sense the discomfort its loud voice caused Grey as it introduced itself.

“Grey.” Grey replied, not intending to drop his last name. He was used to introducing himself in this manner, and luckily, Arkhos did not care about that.

The other Magical Beasts also expressed their gratitude, and Grey went on to remove the seals on them. He might not be healed yet, but removing the seals was easy for him.
