Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1848
Chapter 1848: Discovered
Grey removed the seals before inquiring about how they were captured. Hearing their story, he could not help but feel a sense of pity for them. They were drawn to a particular place due to the birth of a natural treasure. Just like them, Lord Everard’s group which was traveling past that region was also attracted to it. Getting there, they saw the Dragons and other Magical Beasts. Without hesitation, Lord Everard discarded the birth of the treasure and turned all his focus on them. Lord Everard’s group was too strong for these Magical Beasts, so they were captured after putting up a strong fight.
The City Grey found them was the second City they were stopping by on their way to their destination. Lord Everard only opted to stop here due to his appointment with Godric. Grey’s appearance would not have caused a commotion if he had not taken the treasure Lord Everard thought would be his.
“What should we do now?” Arkhos asked, among the group of Magical Beasts it looked like the leader given how submissive the others act in front of it.
“Wait a little. I know they will be searching for our location.” Grey replied, he thought for a while before continuing, “I’ll make another spatial array…”
Grey’s plan was simple, due to the sizes of these Magical Beasts, he knew taking them out with him was impossible and it would expose him too fast, so he planned to leave them here after recovering some of his strength. After getting to a certain distance from this region, he would create another array formation that will become the destination the first array formation will link to.
Arkhos readily agreed with Grey, although it wanted to leave this underwater cave as soon as possible, it knew that if it faced Lord Everard again, it would end up captured again. This was not what it wanted, and knowing that Grey would not abandon them, it did not reject the idea. With it agreeing, the other Magical Beasts also agreed.
Grey stopped speaking with the Magical Beasts, getting into a meditative state, he gulped down some top quality healing tonics he had with him, focusing on healing his injuries. At the time he arrived here, he was too exhausted to check his condition, but seeing it now, he realized it was not as bad as he thought and within two weeks or so, as long as he was not disturbed, he would return to peak conditions. Grey’s individual healing capabilities isn’t something to joke about, without the aid of healing tonics, he could still recover from serious injuries thanks to the shocking restorative ability of his body
Watching Grey heal his wounds, the Magical Beasts dared not say a word in fear of disturbing him. They even went as far as limiting the sound of their breathings so as not to disturb Grey. This place was not too big to begin with, barely enough to contain all of them.
Three days went by in this manner, the underwater cave remained deathly silent and only the rhythmic breathing of Grey could be heard.
Grey, who was engrossed in his cultivation suddenly opened his eyes and looked beside him. The bunny leader appeared mysterious by his side before saying, “They’ve found traces of our location.”
A frown appeared on Grey’s face when he heard this, letting out a disgruntled snort, unhappy that his healing session will have to be stopped.
“Where are they?” He asked calmly.
“Two Sixth stage Sovereigns are poking around the lake as we speak.” The bunny leader replied.
“Then why didn’t you kill them?” Grey asked, unsure of what the bunny leader was thinking.
Void appeared and said, “Because there are four Ninth stage Sovereign not too far away, and according to what I heard outside, a Peak Sovereign is not too far from here too.”
Grey was taken aback by this news, not expecting a Peak Sovereign to be involved. It was already difficult to deal with Lord Everard and the other three Ninth stage Sovereigns. If he were forced to fight against them and a Peak Sovereign too, then even with his fusion orb, his chances of victory will still be zero. Only with the help of City Lord Vaughn and due to the Elemental Warrior’s limited energy supply did they manage to defeat the Elemental Warrior. Yes, he is stronger now compared to that time, but he still knew that against a Peak Sovereign, his chances of victory in a one on one fight isn’t more than twenty-five percent.
Having a twenty-five percent chance of defeating a Peak Sovereign while being a Seventh stage Sovereign is heaven-defying since most Ninth stage Sovereigns will not even have a ten percent chance of winning in a one on one fight against such an opponent.
Grey was in a much better condition at the moment, but he still understood that fighting against these people was nothing more than a fool’s game.
“Do you have a general idea of where they are all located?” He turned to the bunny leader. The bunny leader had previously sent out multiple little bunnies to help scout the area, so Grey knew the best way to escape this predicament was to mislead these people.
The bunny leader nodded, which was within Grey’s expectations.
“If that’s the case then things shouldn’t be too hard.” He stood up, compared to his previous pale complexion, his face was rosy now which was a sign that he was healing well, “Let’s go.”
….
Above the underwater cave, the lake.
Two men could be seen inspecting the area with interest, there was even a hint of excitement in their eyes. The reason for this was because they believed they had found the person they were searching for all this while. According to Lord Everard, whoever finds this person first will be rewarded. The duo were already licking their lips at the thought of their rewards.
“Don’t get excited too early, they might no longer be here.” One of them calmed the other.
