Chapter 1001: Hopeless Love Struck Idiot
Zhouzhou was absolutely furious. With one punch, she sent him and the table toppling over, causing a loud crash as both the person and the table slammed onto the floor.
Chief and Qin Xu exchanged a glance, both lifting their heads to stare at the ceiling.
Yeah, it’s really white.
Zhouzhou, still seething, refused to stop after seeing him fall. She grabbed him and continued to hit him.
Brother Dafu had once told her that a “love struck mind” was something that had to be avoided—it could be harmful. However, when others had a “love struck mind,” they only harmed themselves. But when it was someone like him, they hurt others!
After ruining others’ lives, they acted all repentant, yet at the same time, continued to help the bad guys harm people. How disgusting!
Before long, Niu Wei was dizzy and unable to say a word under her relentless questioning.
“Come with me. You shouldn’t be apologizing to us!” she declared.
As she spoke, Zhouzhou dragged him toward the door, stomping her feet with each step, her anger still bubbling inside her.
Even Chief felt the tremor from her steps and couldn’t help but glance at her. The little girl sure had strength.
Just as Zhouzhou was about to drag Niu Wei out, Qin Xu stepped forward and pressed his hand on the door, looking down at her and saying, “It’s not time yet.”
Zhouzhou tilted her head up, eyes blazing with determination. “Then when is the right time?”
“Wait until we catch Lei Dao and avenge the Chief and the others,” Qin Xu replied.
With that, he lowered his gaze to Niu Wei, his expression cold. Just one glance was enough for him to quickly avert his eyes, as if fearing the filth would stain his sight.
“Zhouzhou, can you figure out where he is?”
“All I need is a photo, or even a birth date will do. If you have something he’s used, that would be best,” Zhouzhou answered confidently.
Qin Xu nodded, glancing at Niu Wei. “You should have something of his.”
Niu Wei tightened his grip slightly but eventually nodded.
“Yes. I have a small piece of clothing in my car that he sent me. It’s for my child. They stayed together, so it should be able to lead you to him,” he muttered in a hoarse voice.
Qin Xu took the car keys and left quickly, finding the car without any trouble. He couldn’t help but let out a mock laugh. He thought that catching a few criminals would redeem him for his mistakes? Dream on!
Meanwhile, Chief handed Zhouzhou Lei Dao’s file, which included a photo, birth date, and everything they needed except the exact time of birth.
“No problem,” Zhouzhou said nonchalantly. She shook the small copper coin in her hand, inspecting the divination symbols on it, before swiftly marking a spot on the map.
It was in the northeastern direction.
That made sense. It was close to the border, and it matched the route Lei Dao often took.
“Second Uncle, I want to go too,” Zhouzhou said, looking up at Qin Xu with big, hopeful eyes.
She wanted to help her uncle, aunt, brother, and sister take revenge.
Hearing this, Chief became a bit anxious. “It’s too dangerous.”
If something happened to Zhouzhou, how could he explain it to the Qin family?
Zhouzhou pouted, clearly unhappy. “What are you talking about? This is nothing, I’ve caught worse criminals.”
Hearing this, Qin Xu was close enough to catch every word. The corner of his mouth twitched, and he quickly covered her mouth, whispering, “Let me check with your dad first.”

Otherwise, he wasn’t sure he could handle Ye Lingfeng’s punch.
Not to mention what would happen when he got home.
He feared that the next person kicked out of the house might just be him.
Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou blinked her eyes and said, “My dad’s busy. You should call Uncle Zhao, he knows.”
Qin Xu shot her a glance, not believing her.
He stepped outside and tried calling Ye Lingfeng, but the phone was off. Now, he was sure the little girl hadn’t been lying.
Looking down, he saw Zhouzhou staring at him sideways, her little arms crossed, puffing out her cheeks with an annoyed expression.
She didn’t believe him!
Unable to hold back, Qin Xu chuckled and pinched her cheek. “I can’t make that call for you.”
If he dared take her away without any word, the lightest consequence would be a scolding, the worst? Being kicked out of the house, or worse, a beating. He wasn’t fool enough to risk that.
“Be good, okay?” he said.
Zhouzhou pouted. “Fine.”
Her temper flared quickly but faded just as fast. Immediately, she wrapped her arms around his and urged, “Uncle, hurry and say it.”
She really was quick to change her mood.
Qin Xu muttered something under his breath before dialing Zhao Xinghua’s number—the one he got from Zhouzhou.
With his skills, he wasn’t quite in a position to reach Zhao directly.
Once he confirmed Zhouzhou was now able to handle missions alone, he finally felt some relief.
As soon as this issue was sorted out, there was still the bigger problem waiting for him—home was where the real trouble lay.
He turned to Zhouzhou. “I’ll call him, but you’re going to speak.”
Zhouzhou blinked, covered her mouth, and pretended to be a little silly. After a long “wu wu” sound, she pointed at her mouth and wiggled her chubby fingers in the air.
She was mute now! She couldn’t speak!
Qin Xu was so exasperated that he couldn’t help but laugh, poking her forehead. “So many tricks!”
He dialed Qin Li’s number and, when the call connected, placed the phone by her ear.
Zhouzhou clamped her mouth shut and didn’t speak. He remained silent as well, watching her, to see who would crack first. After a long while, Zhouzhou could no longer hold it in and pouted. “Dad.”
Hearing her voice, Qin Lie was a bit surprised. He pulled the phone away to look at the screen. The caller ID showed it was his second brother, yet the voice on the line was Zhouzhou’s.
There could only be one reason—Second Uncle was bullying her!
Zhouzhou shot Qin Xu an accusing look, then told Qin Lie, “Dad, I’m going out for a bit. I won’t be back tonight.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Lie narrowed his eyes, quickly piecing things together. “Another mission?”
“Mm.” Zhouzhou nodded sheepishly.
Qin Lie asked with a knowing tone, “With your Second Uncle?”
“…Mm,” Zhouzhou’s voice grew softer. She was clearly growing more nervous as Qin Lie’s guess was closer to the truth.
Realizing this, Qin Lie sighed, pinching the space between his eyebrows. This restless little girl…
Why couldn’t she just enjoy her food, drinks, and toys like other kids? Why was she always getting involved in fights?
And now, she was insisting on going even when it wasn’t her business!
He asked, “Am I going to be able to stop you?”
Zhouzhou’s head drooped, and she said in a small voice, “I just want to help the good people take revenge. I won’t get hurt, I promise.”
Qin Lie was silent for several minutes, and just as Zhouzhou began to get increasingly anxious, he finally spoke. “Fine. Go ahead.”
Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up instantly, and she squealed, “Thank you, Dad!”
“Take care of yourself. Don’t get hurt. If you do, you won’t be leaving the house again,” he warned.
“Mm, I know!” Zhouzhou nodded eagerly, beaming with happiness.
Seeing her so joyful, Qin Xu couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s not your first mission. Why are you so excited?”
Zhouzhou cradled her chubby face, beaming. “But this is the first time Dad said yes!”
Before, he would always get so upset.
She felt like her dad was starting to trust her more.
At that moment, Qin Xu couldn’t help but laugh too.
To be honest, he was surprised. He had even thought Qin Lie would stop her, but to his surprise, he agreed so easily.
It seemed like Qin Lie had finally come to terms with it.
With that thought, Qin Xu couldn’t help but feel happy for Zhouzhou.
Zhouzhou shook her little fists and announced boldly, “Let’s go!”
