Chapter 1010: Who Is Your Most Loved Treasure
Upon hearing her words, Qin Xu slapped his forehead, realizing how foolish he was for forgetting such an important matter. He couldn’t help but sigh and looked at Zhouzhou, feeling a little troubled.
Zhouzhou turned her head to look at him, batting her eyes innocently. “Second Uncle, you’re not going back on your word, are you?”
Qin Xu nodded, “I really am considering it.”
No matter how well she spoke or how capable she was, what if something went wrong? If anything happened, the odds were 100%. He didn’t want to take that risk—he still wanted to go home.
Thinking about it, he said, “Wait here. I’ll call your dad first.”
Another phone call!
Zhouzhou huffed, “Go ahead, call him.”
She lowered her head and mumbled under her breath, clearly irritated. “He’s more of a daddy’s girl than I am! Everything has to be run past Dad before anything can be decided. Does he not have any opinions of his own?”
Hearing her words, Qin Xu couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth. If she were his daughter, he would make decisions without hesitation. But she wasn’t, so how could he make decisions like that?
Even if he had ten times the courage, he wouldn’t dare!
Thinking of this, he called Ye Lingfeng.
This time, the call actually went through.
Ye Lingfeng had just returned from a mission. When he heard Qin Xu’s voice, he raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you guys in the northeast?”
“Yes,” Qin Xu replied. Noticing something odd in Ye Lingfeng’s tone, he asked, “Are you also here?”
“Yeah, where are you planning to go? Which mountain?”
Qin Xu mentioned the name of the mountain.
Ye Lingfeng immediately chuckled. “Take Zhouzhou there first. We’ll meet at the foot of the mountain. Have her wait for me there. I’ll be there in an hour. Until then, she’s not allowed to go up.”
They were that close?
Qin Xu was taken aback.
But he quickly realized it made sense. This area was on the border, and he had heard of some issues in a neighboring country recently. It seemed like Ye Lingfeng had gone there for that reason.
More importantly, if Ye Lingfeng was there, then he could take care of anything that came up. It wouldn’t be Qin Xu’s problem anymore.
Work? Sure, he could do it, but taking the blame was a no-go.
Especially not for something shady.
With this in mind, he nodded in satisfaction and turned to Zhouzhou. “Did you hear that?”
Zhouzhou nodded vigorously. “I heard! Second Uncle, let’s go! We don’t want Dad to wait too long.”
Clearly, she was just worried about her own impatience.
Qin Xu clicked his tongue but didn’t stop her. With Ye Lingfeng involved, there was nothing else he could do. He went ahead and led Zhouzhou out.
They had just arrived when, less than five minutes later, a plane appeared above them. A rope descended, and a figure slid down from above.
“Dad!” Zhouzhou immediately rushed over and hugged Ye Lingfeng’s leg.
Ye Lingfeng stroked her head, then turned to Qin Xu and said, “Thanks for the trouble.”

Qin Xu chuckled. Bringing Zhouzhou along really wasn’t easy. The little girl was impressive, no doubt, but she was a huge money-grubber. Smart, full of schemes, and daring—nothing seemed to scare her.
Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. “Your daughter…”
Zhouzhou shot him a side-eye. “What’s about me?”
If he dared to talk badly about her, she’d report it!
Hmph, who doesn’t have tricks up their sleeve?
Ye Lingfeng smiled and pinched Zhouzhou’s cheek. “She is very amazing.”
This was exactly what his daughter should be, like an eagle soaring high in the sky. What’s there to be afraid of? If the sky falls, he would hold it up for her.
When Zhouzhou heard this, a bright smile spread across her face. She clung to his arm, unwilling to let go, and her eyes narrowed from her smile.
With her own dad saying it, Qin Xu didn’t have much to say. However, he still felt the need to clarify. “I didn’t mean to say anything bad about Zhouzhou.”
This was mostly for Zhouzhou’s benefit. The little chubby girl had a very good memory, and if she got upset and went home to tell her grandma, he’d be in trouble.
He thought it was important to make things clear.
Zhouzhou huffed, ignoring him.
She’d already written it down in her little notebook and was waiting for the moment.
Seeing this, Ye Lingfeng couldn’t help but laugh. He pinched her chubby little hand and asked, “How are we going to find it?”
Right, time to work.
Zhouzhou took out her Compass. At that moment, two figures, one large and one small, black and white, rushed toward her.
“Wangcai, Jinbao, you guys are back!” Zhouzhou greeted happily.
Jinbao made a leap and landed on her shoulder, tugging at her hair.
Hey, why didn’t you call my name first? You really are a bad girl!
Zhouzhou’s face fell as she pulled Jinbao down and cradled it in her arms, looking at the strands of hair in its paws. She pouted.
Oh no!
She put on her helmet, carefully covering every strand of hair, and finally sighed in relief.
Seeing this, Qin Xu couldn’t help but laugh.
One villain meets its match—money-grubber needs Jinbao to keep her in line.
Suddenly, he wondered, “How come Jinbao and Wangcai are here?”
Zhouzhou scratched Wangcai’s big head. “The hotel won’t let them in.”
That made sense. Jinbao wasn’t so bad, but Wangcai was huge—could you imagine how scary it would be for people to see it?
Zhouzhou hugged both Wangcai and Jinbao happily. “Did you find anything special yesterday?”
Wangcai barked once, then turned around and sat on the ground, glancing back at Zhouzhou with a look that clearly said, “Come on to my back.”
Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up, and she immediately climbed on.
Wangcai started running, but as soon as it felt lighter on its back, it immediately stopped and looked back in confusion.
Zhouzhou was suddenly lifted from its back, dazed and looking toward Ye Lingfeng.
Ye Lingfeng said, “We’re here too.”
Right, of course.
Only one person could ride on Wangcai’s back at a time.
Zhouzhou glanced at Jinbao, rubbed its head, and regretfully said, “Jinbao, if you were a bit bigger, you could have come with us.”
Jinbao immediately exploded. “What do you mean? When I first came in, you didn’t complain about my height! And now you start judging me?!”
It snapped at her and ran off into the forest, disappearing from view.
“Jinbao!” Zhouzhou cried, watching its retreating figure in worry.
But it wasn’t long before Jinbao returned.
The most impressive thing was that it was holding something that looked like a mushroom in its mouth. It dropped it at Zhouzhou’s feet and looked up proudly.
Zhouzhou picked it up and her eyes immediately lit up.
“Ganoderma!”
