Chapter 1011: The Tour Guide Tiger
“Jinbao, you’re incredible!” Zhouzhou exclaimed, rubbing Jinbao’s head in delight.
Jinbao raised his chin, glanced at Wangcai, and let out a soft snort before nimbly jumping onto Zhouzhou’s shoulder.
Pfft, how could this foolish tiger compare to him!
Seeing Jinbao’s smugness, Wangcai’s competitive spirit was immediately ignited. With a loud “woof,” it darted into the woods, occasionally glancing back at Zhouzhou as though urging her to follow.
“Dad, Second Uncle, let’s hurry up!” Zhouzhou quickly pulled out an Instant Move Talisman and handed one to each of them.
With the talismans, they instantly covered more ground, moving much faster.
After a few minutes, Wangcai came to a halt at a particular spot. Zhouzhou followed and peered closely. Her eyes lit up with excitement—it was ginseng!
She quickly pulled out a red string from her bag and gently tied it around the ginseng’s root, being careful not to damage it. Her movements were slow and tender as she carefully dug the root out.
In no time, she had pulled out a ginseng nearly the length of her arm.
People often brought gifts of ginseng when they visited Grandpa Qin, but Qin Xu had never seen one this big. “This ginseng is quite something,” he remarked.
Zhouzhou sniffed it with disdain. “It’s only two hundred years old.”
Only two hundred years?
Qin Xu’s face twitched. Although he didn’t fully understand the nuances of ginseng, he knew enough to recognize that a two-hundred-year-old root was considered a treasure in any shop. That was the equivalent of a family heirloom!
Ye Lingfeng smiled and casually agreed, “Yes, just a two-hundred-year-old ginseng. But we are looking for the best, right?”
“Exactly!” Zhouzhou nodded vigorously. “I’m after a king ginseng, better than the one my master has! I want him to see it!”
Every time she asked him for a bit of ginseng, it felt like she was asking for his life. Zhouzhou huffed at the thought. She would find her king ginseng and show him!
Turning to Wangcai, she asked, “Wangcai, can you find me one as big as this?” She drew a large circle with her hands. “Can you find one taller than me?”
Wangcai tilted its head and gave her a curious look, then barked once and sprinted off.
Not long after, Wangcai returned with something in its mouth. However, when Zhouzhou saw what it had brought, her eyes widened, and her mood shifted. Ye Lingfeng’s face darkened in an instant as he pulled Zhouzhou behind him. Qin Xu also immediately drew his knife, his relaxed demeanor vanishing completely.
Wangcai had brought back a companion—a northeast tiger!
Qin Xu felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead.
This Wangcai…
Zhouzhou peeked out from behind, blinking innocently at them.
Wangcai let out a low “woof,” and the northeast tiger followed suit with a similar growl, locking eyes with them.
Then Wangcai turned and barked at Zhouzhou before running ahead. The two tigers quickly scampered off, but not before turning to look back, as if waiting for them to follow.
It took a moment for Qin Xu to process this. “Are we really supposed to follow them?” he asked skeptically.
Sure enough, when Wangcai and the northeast tiger saw they were following, they began running ahead again. Qin Xu couldn’t help but be surprised that they were indeed waiting for them.
They walked for a while, and the northeast tiger didn’t show any signs of hostility. They began to relax their guard.
The northeast tiger led them deep into the dense forest, where there were no human footprints—clearly, this area hadn’t been developed yet. Ye Lingfeng and Qin Xu remained alert, constantly scanning the surroundings.
Zhouzhou, while walking, sprinkled some medicinal powder on the ground, which caused the snakes and insects to automatically avoid them.

Even so, both Ye Lingfeng and Qin Xu remained on edge. After all, this was an untamed wilderness, and a single bite from something dangerous could be fatal.
After another hour or so, the mist grew thicker, and Qin Xu was starting to wonder if they should give up. But just then, the northeast tiger stopped suddenly.
Zhouzhou checked the Compass in her hand, which was now pointing firmly in one direction.
Her eyes widened as she fixed her gaze on the direction the tiger was leading them to. She could already feel the excitement bubbling up. Even Ancestral Master couldn’t help but floated out of the statue.
“Thousand-year-old ginseng!” he exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement. Hee couldn’t resist taking a deep sniff of the air, his eyes sparkling even brighter.
He was sure this was it. This was the legendary king ginseng!
Without hesitation, Ancestral Master called out, “Hurry, Zhouzhou, come here!”
As Zhouzhou was about to step forward, her ears twitched, and she froze in place. In a split second, she threw her knife, sending it slicing through the air. A burst of blood sprayed from the nearby bushes.
There, lying in the grass, was a snake—its head struck at its weak point, and it died instantly. It had been lying hidden in the grass, just out of sight, but Zhouzhou’s quick reflexes had made sure it didn’t get the chance to strike.
Qin Xu wiped the sweat from his brow, clearly relieved.
Ye Lingfeng glanced down at Zhouzhou, a proud smile tugging at his lips as he rubbed her head. “Not bad, you weren’t blinded by greed.”
Of course not!
Zhouzhou raised her chin proudly. “Brother Dafu always says, living well is the best way to save money! One would need a healthy body to spend money!”
Qin Xu couldn’t help but laugh at her comment.
Well, let’s face it—Qin Dafu was a man who would choose money over life without a second thought.
Zhouzhou had always been a little overzealous when it came to her quests, and Qin Xu had told her the same thing: he feared she might get into danger in her pursuit of wealth. If anything happened, Grandpa Qin and Grandma Qin would skin him alive.
Ye Lingfeng chuckled lightly, impressed with Qin Er’s foresight. Not only did he guide Zhouzhou in earning money, but he also made sure she didn’t get into trouble. He was quite a good brother, after all.
Ancestral Master was startled by the sudden attack, looking around nervously. “Ahem… I got a bit too excited earlier.”
Seeing Zhouzhou growing more capable, Ancestral Master sighed in admiration, “She’s really getting better at this.”
Once the immediate danger passed, Zhouzhou happily skipped over to the ginseng, marveling at its size. Even the portion visible above the soil was enormous.
Her heart raced as she realized that this was the king ginseng she had been searching for!
The three of them worked together for more than an hour before they finally managed to dig it out. When Ye Lingfeng saw it in full, he couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. Suddenly, he understood why Zhouzhou was so obsessed with finding this particular ginseng.
It was truly impressive.
The ginseng was as tall as half a person and, just as Zhouzhou had hoped, taller than her. In fact, it was so potent that even a tiny piece could save a life. This single ginseng could easily be divided into enough pieces to save thousands of people.
Ancestral Master couldn’t resist hovering over it, sniffing greedily at the spiritual energy radiating from it. He was practically drooling.
Zhouzhou quickly stepped in front of him, her arms spread wide to shield the ginseng. “Ancestral Master, don’t absorb all the spiritual energy! It’ll lose its potency!”
Ancestral Master, a little embarrassed, scratched his nose and muttered, “How could I possibly absorb it all?”
Zhouzhou shot him a sharp look, and he sheepishly floated back into his statue, grumbling to himself.
She carefully gathered the ginseng into her bag, then turned to thank the northeast tiger. However, just as she did, the tiger suddenly lunged toward her!
