Chapter 103: Rescue Him Later
At this moment, on the rooftop of the hospital.
Qin Yan looked at the man in front of him in shock and disbelief. “Luo Kai, have you gone mad?”
Luo Kai was his former agent who had just been released from prison a few days ago. Qin Yan had planned to visit him when he had the chance, but he never expected that Luo Kai would come to him first, and even more unexpectedly, that he wanted to kill him!
Qin Yan was pressed against the railing. Below was a drop of hundreds of meters, and if he fell, his brain would splatter open.
He struggled forcefully, but the person behind him held him tightly, rendering his struggles futile.
Upon hearing Qin Yan’s words, Luo Kai let out a cold laugh. His thin face was filled with madness. “Yes, I’ve gone mad, Qin Yan. I’ve lost everything—my money, my wife. I have no way out, and it’s all because of you!”
Qin Yan stared at him, his eyes widening. “You were the one who cut the wires! You committed murder!”
“So what? I did it to save my wife. If you weren’t a useless waste who couldn’t secure acting roles and bring in commissions, would I have taken such a desperate risk?”
Hearing Luo Kai blaming everything on him, Qin Yan was dumbfounded. He looked at him blankly, as if he no longer recognized him.
Scenes of the days they had spent together flashed through his mind, now seeming like a joke.
Behind the iron door leading to the rooftop, three pairs of wide eyes were also fixed on Luo Kai.
The three children were stacked on top of each other, their heads nervously peering over one another’s, and Qin Bei anxiously asked, “Zhouzhou, should we go over and save him?”
Earlier, in the hospital room, when they couldn’t find their father, Zhouzhou had taken out a compass and done something. The needle on it moved, leading them here, where they actually found their father.
However, just as they were about to go over, Zhouzhou held them back.
Now, Zhouzhou squatted on the ground, holding a peeled melon seed given to her by Qin Lie. She leisurely ate it, without a hint of anxiety on her face. “Save him? We’ll save him later. Let stupid Third Elder Uncle take a good look at this person’s true face.”
She was angry when she thought about it. Stupid Third Elder Uncle actually turned against her dad for such a bad person, even though her dad had been so good to him!
Upon hearing her words, Qin Bei and Qin Nan glanced at each other and didn’t dare to speak. Although Zhouzhou was scolding their father, they inexplicably felt that she was right.
No matter how bad their Youngest Uncle was, he was just a little mean, a little bad-tempered, and a little overbearing. But he had never harmed their father. No wonder their Youngest Uncle always scolded their father for being blind. It was true.
He couldn’t judge projects properly, he would lose money on one after another, and he was even worse at judging people. What kind of person was he?
They couldn’t understand why they ended up with such a foolish dad. Could it be that he was making them foolish too?
Thinking of this, the two of them widened their eyes in horror, vigorously shaking their heads. Every pore on their bodies seemed to be screaming “refuse.”
Qin Yan had no idea that he was teetering on the edge of death, while his two rotten kids were casually watching the show nearby. He stared at Luo Kai, and his heart gradually sank. “Luo Kai, so you think all of this is my fault?”
As if reminded by his words, Luo Kai suddenly thought of someone else. “Indeed, it’s not all your fault. There’s also your brother, Qin Lie! If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have gone to prison, and my wife wouldn’t have jumped off the building.”
As he said this, hatred filled his eyes, and he quickly pulled out a knife. “I’m going to kill him!”
“You dare!” Qin Yan’s anger surged, his gaze turned cold, and he found strength from somewhere. With a sudden force, he managed to break free from Luo Kai’s grip. “If you lay a finger on him, I’ll kill you!”
“Heh, I didn’t expect you two to be so close. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you both depart together.”
As he spoke, he stabbed the knife towards Qin Yan.
Qin Yan was startled and instinctively let go of Luo Kai’s hand, causing his body to lean backward.
However, he was already at the edge of the railing. With that movement, his center of gravity shifted, and he fell backward abruptly.
“Dad!” Qin Nan and Qin Bei’s eyes widened in fear as they watched the scene unfold. In the next moment, two figures, one big and one small, flew out like lightning, each faster than the other.

With a loud “bang,” Zhouzhou kicked open the iron door. With a light step, she swiftly reached the edge of the railing. Little Chubby extended his paw and firmly grabbed Qin Yan’s ankle. With a slight force, he pulled him up.
At the same time, Qin Lie kicked the knife out of Luo Kai’s hand and pressed him to the ground, saying in a deep voice, “Don’t move.”
Luo Kai’s face was scraping against the ground, unable to break free from Qin Lie’s hold.
Compared to Qin Lie, Zhouzhou’s actions were not gentle at all. After pulling Qin Yan up, she let go of his hand, and he fell to the ground with a loud thud, still facing downwards. It hurt so much that he let out a cry.
Ignoring him, Zhouzhou happily ran over, kicked Luo Kai unconscious, and opened her arms to Qin Lie. “Dad, hug.”
Qin Lie bent down and picked her up without even sparing a glance at Qin Yan, then walked away without hesitation.
“A’lie…” Qin Yan called out to him subconsciously, hastily got up, and couldn’t even care about his face. He looked anxious and somewhat guilty.
He had never realized it before, but now that he thought about it, he had been foolish all these years, turning against Qin Lie for Luo Kai.
“A’lie, I’m sorry,” he said remorsefully.
Qin Lie, however, kept walking without stopping. Qin Yan hurriedly got up and chased after him, despite the pain in his body, his face showing anxiety and a hint of guilt.
Zhouzhou was lying on Qin Lie’s shoulder, watching Qin Yan limping after them. She pouted her lips and muttered, “If he hadn’t spoken up for Dad in the end, I wouldn’t have saved him so quickly.”
“I should have saved him just one second before he hit the ground, scared him a little, and maybe shaken some sense into his brain.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Lie patted her head without saying anything.
As they walked out, Qin Xu quickly approached, looking worried. “Are you okay?”
Qin Lie shook his head, glanced at the empty doorway, and didn’t say anything. He carried Zhouzhou and left quickly.
Qin Xu understood and had someone handcuff Luo Kai before taking him away. Qin Yan was also assisted back to the hospital room.
He wasn’t seriously injured, but he kept staring at the empty doorway, his eyes filled with a sense of loss.
Seeing this, Qin Xu’s face turned cold. “You brought this upon yourself. How foolish you are to treat an outsider better than your own brother.”
All for the sake of someone who wanted to kill him.
“I know you’re kind-hearted, but I never expected you to be this kind-hearted,” Qin Yan murmured, unable to lift his head. He spoke softly, “Second Elder brother, I know I was wrong.”
With a pained expression, he said, “Second Elder Brother, help me. A’lie won’t even argue with me anymore.”
This was a complete disappointment.
At this thought, he regretted it and wished to slap himself. How could he be so foolish?
Qin Xu glanced at him, pointing at himself with his hand. “Do I look like someone who can coax others?”
Not at all.
Qin Yan sighed deeply, looking at his poker face.
“But,” Qin Xu’s tone suddenly changed, “I can give you a suggestion. There’s someone who can coax A’lie.”
“Who?” Qin Yan’s eyes lit up, anxiously asking.
Qin Xu spoke slowly, mentioning a name.
Back in the Qin family’s house, Zhouzhou went straight to her room. She lay on the bed, rubbing the golden pixiu for good luck. Suddenly, her nose itched, and she sneezed, raising her hand to rub her nose. Tilting her head, she looked puzzled and said, “Who’s talking about me?”
Too lazy to think about it, she rolled over, her little belly exposed, looking completely disheartened. She looked at the young man sitting on the chair, pouting pitifully. “Eldest Brother, I’ve gone bankrupt….”
