Chapter 1030: Time to Meet Daddy Ye
Elder Xiao had stayed in Sanqing Temple ever since, and Zhouzhou and Qin Er followed a strict routine: school and home, back and forth. They practically started solving problems the moment they opened their eyes.
Thankfully, their hard work paid off. Zhouzhou and Qin Er both passed the National Olympiad in Mathematics. Qin Er won first place, and Zhouzhou took second. The two of them held their prize money, grinning from ear to ear.
The competition was held in Jing City, and Qin Lie took them to collect their prizes. Afterward, Qin Er generously treated them to… a meal at a street food stall.
Qin Lie, in his suit, expertly wiped down the table with a napkin.
Zhouzhou beamed at Qin Er and said, “Brother Dafu, you’re the best! Tomorrow, I’ll treat you to dinner!”
“Brother Dafu said we should reciprocate,” she added with excitement.
“I’ll treat you to meat!” she said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Hearing this, Qin Lie glanced at Zhouzhou and sighed inwardly. Silly girl.
Qin Er shook his head. “We have meat at home. We’ll eat at home, and it won’t cost any money.”
Good grief, he was so frugal that even when it came to their own house, he was cutting corners.
Qin Lie couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on. If his little girl continued to hang around Qin Er, who knew what would happen next?
Ah.
Shaking his head, he dismissed the thought. After all, she was his daughter, and no matter what, he loved her.
With this thought in mind, he felt much more at ease.
Zhouzhou polished off bowl after bowl of noodles, and Qin Er didn’t say much about it.
Once in the car, the two little money-grubbers exchanged a glance.
Qin Er said, “Now that the National Olympiad is over…”
Zhouzhou finished his sentence, “We don’t have to worry about making it look suspicious anymore.”
It was time to take advantage of their teacher!
Zhouzhou immediately turned to Qin Lie. “Dad, can you help us call the teacher?”
Qin Lie gave them a helpless look, his lips twitching. “Give your teacher a half-day break.”
Elder Xiao had just come down from the mountain yesterday. For them to go straight to him now seemed a bit inconsiderate.
Fine.
Zhouzhou sighed. “Then we’ll wait until tomorrow.”
Qin Er nodded in agreement. “No rush, let the wool grow a bit more… I mean, let the teacher rest for now.”
Qin Lie glanced at him, started the car, and said slowly, “Elder Xiao is your teacher. He’s worked hard to teach you both without charging a single cent. You should treat him well and not just think about taking advantage of him.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Er immediately straightened up, nodding seriously. “I understand, Uncle.”
Zhouzhou, with her little chubby hand resting on her knee, was very obedient. “I know, Dad. I’ll definitely be respectful to the teacher. I’ll take care of him when he’s older too.”
Well, now she had added another person to her “caring plan.”
Knowing that they had some sense, Qin Lie didn’t say anything more. He nodded and drove them toward the Qin family home.

Grandpa Qin and Grandma Qin had already prepared gifts, and the two little money-grubbers couldn’t stop grinning.
The school also gave them half a day off to rest.
The next day, when they went to school, they saw a bright banner hanging at the entrance.
Zhouzhou curiously leaned her head to look and immediately read the words aloud:
“Warm congratulations to our students Qin Er and Qin Caicai for winning the National Championship and Runner-up in the Olympic Mathematics Competition!”
Zhouzhou read the words carefully, excited beyond measure. She tugged at Qin Lie’s sleeve, exclaiming, “Dad, can you take a picture of this and show it to Sharp Tongue Daddy?”
It had been so long since she had seen him. She didn’t even know what he was up to now. It had been almost two months, and she couldn’t even get through to him on the phone.
If Zhouzhou hadn’t done a fortune-telling reading and confirmed that he was fine, she would have been really worried. Otherwise, she would have gone to look for him herself.
But it had really been a long time since they’d seen each other, and she missed him so much.
At this thought, Zhouzhou furrowed her brows, her eyes full of longing.
Seeing this, Qin Lie gently ruffled her hair and comforted her, “He’ll be back soon.”
“I know!” Zhouzhou nodded, trying to muster some energy, before running to the bottom of the banner. She turned around, flashing Qin Lie a “thumbs up” and signaling for him to take a photo.
Just as Qin Lie finished taking the picture, he noticed a group of people carrying cameras coming toward them.
Qin Er immediately grabbed Zhouzhou and ran off without saying a word.
Zhouzhou, completely confused, ran after him and asked, “Brother Dafu, what’s going on?”
“Reporters are here,” Qin Er replied tersely.
Reporters?
Zhouzhou looked back, puzzled. “So what if reporters are here?”
“Trouble,” Qin Er answered succinctly.
They always ask a million questions and then post it online, where people start gossiping. Some even use the fact that he’s from the Qin family to attack him, which gets really annoying.
Over time, Qin Er had grown impatient with all the interviews.
He turned to Zhouzhou and said, “We need to make money quietly.”
When it came to money, Zhouzhou was all ears. She immediately nodded vigorously, “Yes!”
Qin Lie patted her head, and seeing that class was about to start, the two of them headed back to their classrooms.
Naturally, they received numerous compliments.
But compliments from classmates were always more pleasant to hear.
Zhouzhou was so flattered that she almost floated away. She remembered what her Senior Brother had taught her—she needed to be humble. She worked hard to push herself back down to earth.
No pride!
Pride leads to failure. She still had to win more and more prizes!
With this thought, Zhouzhou calmed down and pulled out a book to continue reading.
The final exams were coming up, and there was more pocket money to be earned.
When the teacher came in, she saw Zhouzhou so calm and focused. For a moment, she felt a little embarrassed herself.
She had planned to discuss the results of the competition, but seeing that Zhouzhou had already moved on to the next thing, she decided not to bring it up and started the class instead.
The weather was getting hotter, and every day after school, Zhouzhou was driven by Qin Lie to Elder Xiao’s house. She and Qin Er attended two classes a day, making rapid progress. The gap between Zhouzhou and Qin Er grew smaller, which spurred Qin Er to work even harder.
Before long, the final exams ended, and summer vacation arrived. Zhouzhou and Qin Er moved into the summer camp, along with the other eight students who had placed in the top ten at the national competition.
After a month of training, they would represent Hua Country in the competition in B Nation.
While the teacher hadn’t arrived yet, the students couldn’t help but gather together, chattering excitedly about the upcoming competition.
The thought of going abroad on a full scholarship thrilled them all.
Suddenly, Zhouzhou pulled on Qin Er’s sleeve. “Brother Dafu, where exactly is B Nation?”
There was a world map on the wall. Qin Er led her over and pointed to B Nation’s location.
Zhouzhou stared at it for a moment, then took out a copper coin and shook it. After looking at the hexagram, her eyes brightened, and her smile widened.
Sharp Tongue Daddy was in B Nation right now!
That was wonderful—they would get to see him soon!
