Chapter 1041: Selling the Invitation
As the evening party began, Qin Er, true to his word, took the invitation and went to the front of the Brian family’s residence. In less than ten minutes, he sold the invitation for a staggering price of 2.5 million euros. He generously handed Zhouzhou ten euros, saying, “If it weren’t for you, Brian Junior wouldn’t have invited me.”
Zhouzhou didn’t hesitate and accepted the money, asking, “Brother Dafu, are you heading back to the hotel now?”
“No, I’m setting up a stall here,” Qin Er replied confidently. “People here are all foolish and wealthy. Things will sell quickly and for a high price.”
Zhouzhou’s eyes sparkled with admiration. “Brother Dafu is so amazing!” she thought.
Meanwhile, Brian Junior stood by, helplessly watching Qin Er sell the invitation and then set up his impromptu stall outside his house. He was speechless. “Has he gone mad from poverty?” he wondered.
However, surprisingly, there were actually people who found Qin Er’s goods appealing and bought them, often paying ten times the price they would have at the hotel across the street. The sight of this made Zhouzhou’s eyes practically glimmer with excitement.
Brian Junior, on the other hand, couldn’t help but roll his eyes, urging, “Alright, alright, let’s go inside.” He was getting worried that Zhouzhou might even sell her invitation next! He fully believed that she was capable of doing such a thing.
Ye Lingfeng had disguised himself as Zhouzhou’s teacher and followed her into the event. When Brian Junior glanced at him, he quickly averted his gaze, his interest still clearly on Zhouzhou.
He approached her and asked, “When did you start to involve with Olympiad mathematics?”
Some people have an innate sensitivity to mathematics, like him. He started learning at the age of two, and by five, his teacher began teaching him math Olympiad problems. If she was like that, then she must have been learning for years, and her current achievements would make sense.
Zhouzhou tilted her head slightly, replying, “Two months ago.”
She had started by learning math from her teacher, then began formal Olympiad training with her elder brother two months ago in preparation for the competition.
Brian Junior stopped dead in his tracks, stunned. “What did you say?!”
Zhouzhou, seemingly distracted, repeated, “Two months ago.”
She then turned her gaze toward the central buffet area, feeling her mouth water, and asked, “Can I have some food?”
Still reeling from the shock of her revelation, Brian Junior, stunned, replied, “Sure.”
Without hesitation, Zhouzhou dashed towards the food, and Ye Lingfeng, ever the dutiful teacher, followed her, lowering his voice to say, “Zhouzhou, I’ll be leaving soon. Stay cautious here.”
Zhouzhou, holding a bowl in front of her mouth, simply replied, “Mm, Daddy, you be careful too.”
They had already exchanged the necessary words beforehand, so there was no need to repeat them. Given how many people were around, it was best not to draw attention by talking too much.
As Ye Lingfeng contemplated how to slip away without arousing suspicion, Brian Junior approached him and said, “Leave us alone. I want to sit here and talk to her for a bit.”
Ye Lingfeng stood up as suggested, allowing Brian Junior to sit in his place.
Zhouzhou, meanwhile, waved at him and said, “Master, don’t worry about me. You should go and have some fun!”
Ye Lingfeng didn’t say much, simply nodding and walking away.
He made his way to another part of the room, holding a glass of wine. He blended in with the other guests, casually engaging in conversation.
After a while, he found a waiter and inquired about the restroom. Once he reached it, he secretly activated an invisibility talisman and confidently walked out.
When he saw that Zhouzhou was still talking to Brian Junior, with no immediate danger in sight, he felt a bit more at ease. He discreetly tapped his earbud and whispered, “Keep an eye on Zhouzhou.”
Zheng Yu, who had infiltrated the Brian family’s surveillance system the previous night, quickly responded, “Understood!”
Zheng Yu typed a few quick commands on his keyboard, reporting, “Boss, something seems off at the southwest corner of the property. Captain Qiu and the others might be there. Should we check it out?”
Ye Lingfeng glanced at the compass Zhouzhou had given him. The talisman’s needle was also pointing toward the southwest.
“Go,” he ordered, heading in that direction without hesitation.

Zhouzhou, in the meantime, caught a glimpse of them moving in that direction, but she was busy savoring her small cake, and she couldn’t care about anything else .
Brian Junior, who had been speaking with her, suddenly felt a craving for the sweets as well. He took a piece of cake for himself. Usually, he prided himself on being a prodigy, different from other children, and never touched snacks.
However, after taking a bite, his brows furrowed slightly. “It’s not bad, but…” he mused. “Eating too many sweets will make you dumb.”
Zhouzhou, still chewing her cake, tilted her head and curiously asked, “So, you didn’t win the championship because you ate too many sweets?”
Brian Junior nearly choked. “You…” He was certain she was making fun of him.
Zhouzhou, however, was simply asking an innocent question based on what he said.
Seeing her clear, innocent eyes, Brian Junior was left feeling uncomfortable. He found her directness even more awkward than any sarcasm.
Just then, Brian Senior entered the room and saw his grandson in such an uncomfortable position. He squinted his eyes, turned to Zhouzhou, and asked, “Whose child is this?”
The butler glanced at him and replied, “She’s from China. She competed with the young master and won the championship.”
Brian Senior nodded, his expression neutral. He didn’t particularly care for such competitions but had allowed his grandson to participate because he liked it. He had not expected to take any particular interest in this girl, but now that he was paying attention, he found himself intrigued.
As Brian Junior picked up a piece of cake, Brian Senior’s gaze briefly paused. He turned to the butler and said softly, “Find a chance to…” He didn’t finish the sentence, but the butler immediately understood the implication.
The young master would eventually inherit the Brian family legacy. He should not be influenced by his emotions or attachments. Just as the young master had been unable to control his feelings for his mother, which led to her disappearance, so too should they now ensure nothing interfered with his future.
Brian Senior’s thoughts were interrupted when Zhouzhou, still eating cake, suddenly felt a wave of hostility. It wasn’t from Kurosaki.
She clutched her cake, pretending to casually scan the room, and her gaze settled on two people standing nearby. One was in a suit, his hair meticulously styled. He appeared amiable, but the malice in his eyes gave him away.
Zhouzhou immediately became cautious.
Brian Junior, noticing where she was looking, followed her gaze and said, “This is my grandfather. Come, I’ll take you to meet him.”
He pulled her towards Brian Senior. “Grandfather,” he said, “this is the one who stole my championship.”
Brian Senior looked at her, smiling, but Zhouzhou could see the underlying malice in his eyes.
Such hypocrisy, she thought, as she returned his smile and greeted him sweetly, “Hello, Grandpa.”
Brian gave a slight nod. “Hello.”
