Chapter 1044: Bloodbath
What?
This was clearly the place where the Brian family kept prisoners. Why had they brought Zhouzhou here?
Ye Lingfeng glanced at the people in the room, clenched his teeth, and strode out. As he walked, he ordered, “Handle the surveillance here.”
“Yes.”
Outside, Zhouzhou looked around confused, asking, “Grandpa, where is this place?”
The butler smiled, but there was a sinister edge to his grin. “This is the place you were curious about. Didn’t you want to see it for yourself? Well, now you can go in and take a look.”
With that, he signaled to the two guards, who immediately opened the door.
Zhouzhou looked inside and immediately burst into tears. “I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go in! It’s so dark, I’m scared, Grandpa!”
The little girl cried uncontrollably, snot and tears pouring down her face. The butler didn’t even look at her, instead waving his hand expressionlessly at the guards. “Kill her.”
The two burly men immediately grabbed Zhouzhou and dragged her inside.
As Zhouzhou hesitated, unsure whether she should knock them down and escape, she caught something out of the corner of her eye. At that moment, she gave up on the idea of escaping and continued crying.
The butler paid no attention, wiping his hands with a handkerchief before walking away, still holding his elegant, gentlemanly demeanor.
The two guards chatted casually. “How did this little girl offend the family head?”
“Who knows? Doesn’t matter, we just do our jobs.”
“Too bad, though. She’s actually quite pretty.”
As they spoke, they exchanged a glance and reached out toward Zhouzhou’s face.
Zhouzhou glanced at them, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.
Just as their hands were about to touch her, one of the men’s wrists was suddenly seized by a hand. In the next instant, a slit appeared across his neck, and he dropped dead on the spot.
Zhouzhou grabbed the other man’s arm and performed a shoulder throw. With a “crack” sound, she locked his fat arm around his neck, instantly cutting off his breath.
She released him and turned to look at the air beside her, shouting, “Dad!”
Ye Lingfeng caught her steadily and asked, “How did you end up here?”
He had guessed the worst—perhaps he had been discovered. But he hadn’t heard any major commotion, so he wasn’t sure.
Zhouzhou pouted and recounted what had just happened.
She thought Old Brian was crazy!
Ye Lingfeng still couldn’t understand why Old Brian had attacked Zhouzhou, but it no longer mattered. He lowered his head, looking at her. “Zhouzhou, I need your help.”
Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou puffed out her chest and said, “Tell me, Dad!”
She had come here after noticing her dad signaling her earlier.
Ye Lingfeng pressed his lips together and said nothing as he led her toward the room they had been in on the fifth underground floor.
Once inside, Zhouzhou’s attention was immediately drawn to a figure.
She glanced up into the air.

Ye Lingfeng, sensing her gaze, felt his heart drop.
Earlier, when the person bringing food had opened the window, Ye Lingfeng had smelled a foul stench— the unmistakable smell of rot, the kind that came from dead bodies.
He closed his eyes briefly to mask the pain in his heart, then said, “Help me check on them.”
“Okay.” Zhouzhou nodded, hesitating for a moment, unsure whether she should tell her dad about the man floating in the air. He seemed to be someone her dad knew, but…
It seemed like he had already…
Sensing her hesitation, Ye Lingfeng said, “First, save them.”
He clenched his fists, forcing himself to calm down.
Zhouzhou turned her gaze away and pulled out a wall-passing talisman, placing it on herself before pulling him along to phase through the wall.
When they saw the situation inside, Zhouzhou couldn’t help but shudder. The next moment, she hurried over, lifting her hand to check the person’s pulse. But as soon as she touched him, she noticed his arm was broken, and his tendons had been severed.
She couldn’t check his pulse like this…
She froze, then turned to look at Ye Lingfeng.
Ye Lingfeng understood and stepped forward to forcibly rip the chains off the man. Zhouzhou quickly followed and helped with the chains around his legs.
Once the chains were broken, the person slumped down, but Ye Lingfeng was already prepared and caught him.
His hands almost immediately touched the man’s bones, and his eyes reddened instantly.
He removed his coat and laid it on the floor, carefully placing the man down.
Zhouzhou quickly came over and pushed the hair from his face, revealing his features.
Although his beard was long, Ye Lingfeng recognized him immediately.
It was Qiu Guoliang!
Zheng Yu, watching through the hidden camera, couldn’t suppress the lump in his throat. Captain Qiu, their war god! How had it come to this?
Zhouzhou quickly glanced at Ye Lingfeng, then focused her attention on Qiu Guoliang. She placed her hand on his neck and after a while, she felt a faint pulse, which made her breathe a sigh of relief. She immediately took out some medicine and administered it to him.
Looking at his injuries, Zhouzhou furrowed her brows. The damage was severe.
She turned to Ye Lingfeng and said, “Dad, I can only keep him alive for now. His bones…”
She paused, unsure of how to put it.
His bones were all shattered, not just broken, so she couldn’t heal him properly.
Ye Lingfeng understood.
“Just keep him alive for now.”
Zhouzhou nodded firmly. She would try her best.
She pulled out a golden needle and skillfully inserted it into his body. Her energy flowed into him through the needle, slowly repairing his meridians.
But his meridians had been severed, and healing him wasn’t something that could be done in a short time.
The more she treated him, the more her heart ached.
How much pain had he endured?
Too much pain.
Half an hour later, Qiu Guoliang’s eyelids finally fluttered.
Ye Lingfeng quickly removed the Invisibility Talisman from his body.
As soon as Qiu Guoliang saw him, his eyes instinctively widened, and his lips parted. But no words came out. Instead, he made a gesture with his mouth.
As he opened his mouth, Ye Lingfeng and Zhouzhou both saw what remained of his tongue—only half of it was left!
Zhouzhou’s hand trembled.
Ye Lingfeng’s tears immediately fell, and an overwhelming killing intent flashed in his eyes.
He said, “It’s my fault, I’m sorry. I came too late.”
Qiu Guoliang looked at him, but slowly smiled.
It was enough that he had come. At least now, he wouldn’t have to die here.
Zhouzhou bit her lip tightly and sent all her energy into him, healing him.
Qiu Guoliang felt an unprecedented comfort, and his breathing steadied.
Zhouzhou checked him again, confirming that he was stable for the moment, then let out a sigh of relief.
Ye Lingfeng looked at Qiu Guoliang and said, “Wait for me here. I’ll go rescue the others. I’ll come back for you soon.”
Qiu Guoliang blinked in response.
Zhouzhou quickly headed to the nearby room. When she noticed that Ye Lingfeng wasn’t following her, she turned around, puzzled.
Ye Lingfeng said, “You go ahead.”
He then tapped his earpiece and spoke with cold resolve, “Get everyone over here.”
Today, he was going to wipe out the Brian family!
