Chapter 1166: Provocation Strategy
With Yin Hua’s presence suppressing the situation, the people from the Special Action Office still looked down on Qin Xi and his team, but compared to the previous direct confrontation, things had improved significantly. Fortunately, none of them openly cursed; they kept their grievances to themselves and communicated through sharp glares. Those glares were filthy.
Ye Lingfeng shot them a sidelong glance, then turned to Zhouzhou, who was casually munching on sunflower seeds. He tapped the table and asked, “Aren’t you going to do something about them?”
Zhouzhou sighed, resting her cheek in her palm with a troubled expression. “I have tried, but they won’t listen.”
On one hand, Qin Xi and his team had their reasons, but on the other hand, the Special Action Office respected her skills but couldn’t quite align with her methods. If it weren’t for Yin Hua’s authority, they probably would have thrown in the towel by now.
Zhouzhou continued to frown, “They’ve never worked with us before. The people from Mystery Sect look down on ordinary folks, while the police think we’re just dealing with superstition. Everyone’s too proud to cooperate, and that makes it hard to work together.”
But without cooperation, the Special Action Office would lose its purpose.
“Dad, do you have any ideas?” Zhouzhou looked at him with pleading eyes. “The people from the Fourth Bureau listen to you. How did you do it?”
Ye Lingfeng casually leaned back, sipping his tea with a relaxed air. “It’s simple. I knocked them all down, and that’s how they started listening to me.”
Zhouzhou sighed. “They do respect me, but they still don’t listen to my words.”
Fighting them had already happened, and while it got them to join in, there were still many issues left. Now, it wasn’t just about gaining their respect; it was also about how to merge both teams.
Seeing her growing frustration, Ye Lingfeng decided to offer some advice. “The reason they’re not respecting you yet is that they haven’t felt the benefits of cooperation. Once they do, they’ll start listening.”
“Just like how you and Qin Xu work together so smoothly with Qin Xi?” he added.
Trust wasn’t something you could just say; it had to be earned. The trust between Zhouzhou and Qin Xi, for example, wasn’t just because she was a member of the Qin family. The medals on her wall spoke volumes.
Zhouzhou pondered, her eyes lighting up. She now knew what to do.
Just as she was formulating her plan, a police officer approached. “Boss, someone just reported that Wang Dayong was spotted two hours ago in the north of the city!”
Wang Dayong was the fugitive they had been chasing, whose escape had caused the conflict with the Special Action Office earlier.
Upon hearing this, several members of the Special Action Office immediately pulled out copper coins and squatted down to start their calculations.
Looking at their divinations, their brows furrowed. “It still shows we’ll be one step short. We won’t catch him.”
Upon hearing this, the police officers were ready to blow their tops.
Qin Xi’s brow furrowed, but he remained silent, motioning for his team to prepare to leave. For Zhouzhou’s sake, he didn’t want to engage in a verbal confrontation with them.
Moreover, they didn’t have time to argue.
Just as they were about to leave, Zhouzhou spoke up. “Fourth Brother, hold on a second.”
She turned to the Special Action Office members. “We’ve already discussed this before. Our purpose is to change destiny. If we’re always one step short of catching the criminal, then we’ll fill that gap ourselves.”
“With our skills, no matter how elusive a person is, we will certainly be able to figure out where they are.”
“We’ll show these police officers what we’re capable of!” she said, clenching her fist with determination.
The Special Action Office’s spirits were instantly ignited.
That’s right, they would show these people their real abilities!
“Director, wait here. I’ll calculate the location of Hu Dayong right away!” one member of the Special Action Office said.
Another one looked at Qin Xi, “Hey, do you have anything the target has used? Give me something.”
“I want one too…”

Qin Xi blinked, exchanged a glance with Zhouzhou, and immediately understood what she meant. He gave an unwilling smile, but then he quickly complied.
“We’ll take care of the rest. You all stay out of it,” Qin Xi said, making sure not to slow down. He handed them the items they needed.
Zhouzhou winked at him. “Forth Brother, your acting skills are really top-notch!”
Qin Xi coughed lightly. “I learned it from you.”
The Special Action Office members, not noticing the exchange, sneered at Qin Xi’s words and sarcastically said, “With you? You can’t even see a ghost, and you’re taking charge? Haha, we’ll see when we catch him.”
“Stop talking. Watch us do it,” one of them declared with a smirk.
“Let’s go,” they said as they marched out, heads held high.
The police officers exchanged confused glances, wondering what had gotten into these people. When they had asked for help before, they were always so proud and unwilling to cooperate. Why the sudden change today?
Qin Xi didn’t bother to explain. “Let’s go.”
The officers quickly snapped out of their daze and hurried to follow him.
Zhouzhou tagged along, giving Ye Lingfeng a wink before leaving.
“Watch and see,” she mouthed silently to him.
Ye Lingfeng chuckled lightly. He had raised a smart daughter.
“Zhouzhou, are you going to help us find the person?” Qin Xi asked quietly.
Zhouzhou shook her head. “No, they are.”
She pointed to the members of the Special Action Office walking ahead. “Forth Brother, since they’re already here, we can’t let them do nothing. They need to work too.”
“I’m only one person. I can’t handle it all. But if I’m busy, they can help out.”
“Besides, when I’m not around, I’ll have them to assist me.”
With that, she didn’t give Qin Xi a chance to speak. Instead, she pulled out her trump card. “Forth Brother, want to earn a few more banners?”
Qin Xi felt a shiver run down his spine. He quickly sped up, walking right up to the Special Action Office members. He boldly declared, “I don’t believe you can catch him.”
This caused the already rebellious Special Action Office members to become even more incensed. They glared at him. “You’ll see!”
“Brothers, let’s show them our special skills and let them see what we’re made of!”
Qin Xi hummed to himself, barely able to hide his smile.
This time, they were sure to earn more banners.
The other police officers weren’t fools. They thought it over and realized Qin Xi’s intent. Remembering his wall of banners and medals, they couldn’t help but feel a little envious.
“We need them too!” they thought.
They nodded in agreement.
“Fine, we’ll see. But I’ll also see if you can catch him.”
“If you can’t, we’ll arrest you instead.”
“How can you trust this stuff? It’s just superstition. We should rely on our own skills.”
Hearing these words, the Special Action Office members rolled up their sleeves, ready for action. Their fingers were already blurring, and the copper coins were almost sparking.
Zhouzhou scratched her head, watching them with satisfaction.
She had a hunch. She was about to become a rich woman!
