Chapter 1241: Fugui, the Legendary Existence
“Alright, Mr. Grove, she no longer has any talismans, we can begin the interrogation now,” Qu Ying said with a sycophantic grin.

Grove gave a slight nod and waved his hand, signaling him to stand farther away. Without calling for any additional personnel, he personally came to interrogate Zhouzhou.

He looked at Zhouzhou, speaking each word with deliberate calm, “You have one last chance.”

If she refused to admit that she killed Augusta, then she would only leave half a life behind.

Zhouzhou raised her head, frowning deeply with an expression full of defiance. “Why are you accusing me of killing him? If I had done it, why would I waste time here with you? I would have already taken his head and exchanged it for money!”

She spoke with fervor, so much so that even Grove began to doubt if he had wronged her. But he quickly steadied himself; deep down, he knew that logically, only Zhouzhou could have been the one to do it.

The only people at the scene had been Zhouzhou and Augusta.

He took a deep breath and looked directly at Zhouzhou. “You may have cleared the bloodstains, but you cannot erase the traces left on the plants.”

“I went to check, and there’s a large patch of grass that’s been trampled down. Augusta was skilled in beast taming; it was probably him who summoned them.”

Zhouzhou, following his words, speculated, “Isn’t it possible that some wild beast ate him, so you couldn’t find him? Oh, what a pity.”

She slapped her thigh, feigning sorrow. “All that money, gone just like that into the belly of a beast. So much money, all gone.”

Her expression was one of genuine regret, making Grove furrow his brow even deeper.

Realizing that he wouldn’t get any further answers from her, he gave up on the conversation, adjusted his equipment, and placed his hand over the power button.

“As soon as I press this, you’ll lose half your life.”

Zhouzhou blinked, her expression unfazed. “If you’re so confident, why not take my whole life then?”

Always with this ‘half-life’ threat. How weak of him to be making such a big deal over it.

Upon hearing this, Grove felt a pang of unease but said nothing more. He pressed the button immediately.

Qu Ying kept his eyes fixed on Zhouzhou, making sure she didn’t secretly possess any talismans.

Hmph, this little brat, thinking she has principles. We’re all just working people here, no one is above anyone else.

He was waiting for the moment she’d beg for mercy.

However, the next second, both Qu Ying and Grove were struck with a violent tremor and collapsed to the floor. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they looked toward Zhouzhou, lips muttering a single word: “You…”

How could this be?

He had clearly taken all of her talismans; how was she still able to redirect the electric shock onto them?

Grove’s eyes were wide open, the normally composed individual now full of disbelief.

How could this be possible?

What kind of mystical arts did she possess? This power was terrifying.

Zhouzhou looked toward Qu Ying, blinking innocently. “Did you really think that I can only use talismans to deal with you guys?”

How did she do this?

Grove stared at her intently, determined to uncover her secret.

Zhouzhou didn’t hide anything.

She closed her eyes slightly, and the air around her shimmered with spiritual energy. In the blink of an eye, a talisman appeared in front of her.

To make sure they could see it clearly, Zhouzhou allowed the talisman to materialize.

Then, the talisman dropped onto the lock, and with a flick of her wrist, the handcuffs around her wrists clicked open.

Zhouzhou placed her hand lightly on the armrest of the chair, then effortlessly jumped out, landing steadily on the ground.

She turned toward Qu Ying with a smile. “Didn’t you know? Once you reach a certain cultivation level, you don’t have to rely on physical forms to draw talismans. You can use your thoughts to do it.”

“Thoughts…”

Qu Ying looked at her in terror.

Of course, he knew that one could use their mind to control spiritual energy and draw talismans, but he thought it was just some mystical embellishment from ancient books. He never imagined that it was real!

And now, he was witnessing it firsthand!

Had he known she had such a skill, he would have never dared to provoke her.

He stared at her in sheer horror, forcing himself to speak, “I… I’m sorry.”

He was wrong, he shouldn’t have provoked her.

She was not someone he could afford to offend!

He was truly sorry!

Zhouzhou watched him, happily nodding. “Mhm, I hear your apology, but I’m not going to forgive you.”

She wasn’t exactly one to have a big heart!

They were just normal people—what kind of person would let things slide after being wronged?

Without saying another word to Qu Ying, Zhouzhou turned her attention to Grove.

As expected, the leader of the International Investigation Team had some resilience; despite being shocked, he managed to stand up again.

Zhouzhou couldn’t help but admire him. After all, when she had been struck by Mr. Thunder, she hadn’t gotten up this quickly.

Then again, it was probably because she was more heartbroken back then.

She looked at Grove, a little disappointed. “Didn’t I tell you? You should have just killed me right away. Look at you now, isn’t this a huge slap in your face?”

She sighed, her expression tinged with disappointment.

Why didn’t they listen?

Grove looked back at her, his eyes filled with deep vigilance.

He had never encountered such a formidable opponent.

Purely in terms of physical strength, he wasn’t sure if he could defeat her. What made things worse was her mysterious, yet overwhelmingly powerful mystical arts, which made it impossible to guard against.

At this moment, he knew one thing for certain: He couldn’t deal with Zhouzhou.

But…

“Did you forget something?” He spoke in a low voice. “This is my territory.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he slammed his hand against the wall.

The wall, which had appeared perfectly smooth and ordinary, suddenly began to hum with a shrill alarm, shaking the entire island.

Zhouzhou’s ears perked up, and she turned to look outside, her vigilance heightened.

Someone was coming.

And it was a lot of them.

Grove stepped back, and a transparent, bulletproof wall suddenly appeared in front of him, shielding him completely.

Even Zhouzhou, no matter how much innate power she had, wouldn’t be able to break through it.

He looked at Zhouzhou with a faint smile. “You can’t escape.”

As the murder of Augusta, she would either admit it or face the consequences. There was no way out.

Zhouzhou smiled back, her lips curling into a mischievous grin. “Alright then, how about we make a bet?”

As soon as her words fell, the door was pushed open from the outside.

In that instant, Zhouzhou was already charging toward it.

She was incredibly fast, and before the incoming people could even react, they were already knocked to the ground.

Within the span of a few seconds, Zhouzhou had already dashed out, and cries of pain echoed outside.

It was all members of the International Investigation Team.

Grove’s face darkened immediately.

Useless fools!

Suddenly, he froze in place, and a smile crept onto his face as he sent a message out.

It didn’t matter. He still had one last trump card.

One that no one from Hua Country could escape.

A final, deadly weapon…
