Chapter 1243: Save Zhouzhou!
“Zhouzhou, be careful!”

“Get away!”

A few people shouted in alarm, their voices ringing out as they immediately began coughing violently. Despite this, they forced themselves to keep an eye on Zhouzhou’s situation, their hearts full of self-loathing.

If only they could die quickly, it would spare Zhouzhou from this trouble.

If it weren’t for them, Zhouzhou wouldn’t have to be in such a passive situation.

Noticing their emotions, Zhouzhou’s gaze flickered slightly, and her expression grew cold as she looked at Grove.

It seemed the uncles still didn’t quite know her capacity. Well then, she would show them!

In the blink of an eye, she moved like a shadow, so fast that Grove didn’t even see how she did it. In an instant, Zhouzhou appeared behind him, her gun pressing firmly against his temple.

Grove stiffened, shocked by her speed.

Zhouzhou’s voice followed coldly, “How about we bet again, and see who’s faster?”

“How do you want to bet?” Grove’s voice was indifferent.

Zhouzhou couldn’t help but click her tongue, “You’re much braver than Augusta, not as easy to break down.”

Upon hearing this, Grove’s eyes darkened. “So, you’re admitting you killed him?”

“How could I?” Zhouzhou looked at him with surprise. “Is your reading comprehension that bad? When did I say that? I only said I’ve met him before. He originally wanted to sneak attack us and secretly change the start time of the match, intending to eliminate all of us at once.”

“After his conspiracy failed, he cracked under pressure. Ah, his mental toughness was really too poor.”

Zhouzhou shook her head, disappointed.

Grove’s lips pressed into a thin line as he glanced at a corner of the room. There, hidden from view, was a tiny camera. If Zhouzhou admitted to the killing, they would have legitimate grounds to go after her.

Even if Ye Lingfeng woke up, this would be a huge blow to him. It might even make him fall ill again. Without this father-daughter duo, they would be free to do whatever they wanted in the future.

But Zhouzhou was too cautious, and she wouldn’t fall for the trap. Even though there was no one else around, she refused to acknowledge it.

This little girl was smarter than he had imagined. Not only was she skilled, but her mental state was also incredibly stable—she didn’t get cocky at all.

Now he understood why Fugui had been able to dominate for so many years. She was capable, yet humble. Someone like that, how could they fail at anything?

But her success was his failure.

Grove said flatly, “I’m the leader of the International Investigation Team. If you kill me, it’s a provocation to the whole world. Are you sure you can bear the consequences?”

Zhouzhou pretended to be scared, “Uncle Grove, I’m a coward. If you say that, I’m really frightened.”

But Grove knew she was just joking. He couldn’t help but feel a bit frustrated. Why was she so unyielding?

Now, there was only one last option.

He gritted his teeth. “Then, do you not care about them either?”

He pointed at the few members of the Hua Country group lying on the floor, then suddenly began chanting a strange incantation.

Zhouzhou furrowed her brows, and the next second, she saw countless gun barrels pointing directly at the five people.

Grove said, “You can escape, but what about them? How about we make another bet—how many people do you think you can save in one go?”

Zhouzhou stared at him, biting her back teeth. After a few seconds, she loosened her grip on the handcuffs behind her back. “Fine, I lost. What do you want?”

Grove turned to her. “Don’t worry, I won’t use torture on you anymore.”

Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou couldn’t help but laugh and wink at him, teasing, “Are you being kind, or are you just scared?”

Scared that she might use a transfer talisman on him again.

Grove’s temples twitched lightly. He struggled to suppress the urge to kill her.

She was still useful to him.

He said, “You don’t need to provoke me. Angering me won’t benefit you. I can let you go—if you can ensure their safety while taking them with you.”

Hearing this, Zhouzhou’s smile faded, and her expression grew more serious.

Indeed, it was easier for her to escape, but carrying five seriously injured people with her made it far more difficult.

She sighed deeply, sat down obediently, and put on a pair of handcuffs and shackles, looking as obedient as possible.

“I lost.” She said earnestly.

Seeing her like this, Grove’s lips curled into a satisfied smile.

For her life’s sake, he took the initiative to explain, “The handcuffs and shackles you’re wearing have infrared sensors. Once you try to leave, the ones on the walls will automatically fire.”

“Like I said, if you can save all five of them at once, you can escape.”

Zhouzhou frowned and sighed in dissatisfaction, “You’re making it impossible for me. You know I can’t do this—no one can.”

“You have another option,” Grove said.

Zhouzhou replied, “Do you want me to admit that I killed Augusta?”

“No.” Grove shook his head, and Zhouzhou narrowed her eyes, realizing something was off.

This guy was never this easygoing.

Sure enough, the next moment, Grove said, “Let’s play a game—six or one. If you give me one person, Ye Lingfeng, I guarantee that all six of you can walk out of here safe and sound. What do you say?”

Zhouzhou’s face darkened immediately, and she blurted out, “No way. Don’t even think about it.”

Her father was her bottom line. No one—no one—could touch him except her!

Besides, if they got their hands on him, they definitely wouldn’t let him go.

As a daddy’s girl, how could she agree to this kind of deal?

“Dream on!”

Predictably, Grove wasn’t surprised by her refusal. He didn’t rush and merely nodded before turning to walk away.

It didn’t matter. He was confident that she would change her mind soon.

Even if she didn’t, someone else would.

Zhouzhou couldn’t shake the feeling that his gaze as he left was strange, but she couldn’t pinpoint why.

The people around her watched her, frowning deeply, and whispered, “Zhouzhou, you should leave. You shouldn’t stay here. This place is…”

Before they could finish, the floor they were sitting on suddenly caved in, and Zhouzhou’s body plunged into the sea.

Caught off guard, she choked on a couple of mouthfuls of water before stabilizing herself.

Upon closer inspection, she realized that below was a huge glass dome, with sharks nearby eyeing them hungrily.

Her companions were in worse shape. Their injuries burned in the saltwater, intensifying their pain.

Zhouzhou herself didn’t feel good either. The water seemed strange—her body began to weaken, and her breathing became faint.

This bastard must have put some kind of drug in the water!

Ye Lingfeng suddenly stood up, fully aware that Grove’s tactics weren’t limited to this.

No! Zhouzhou couldn’t stay here any longer.

He had to save her.

He had to save his daughter!

A strong suction force suddenly pulled him toward it, and in the next moment, Qin Lie, who was adjusting the video volume beside him, was kicked hard by Ye Lingfeng.

“Stop fighting for attention! Go save Zhouzhou!”
