Chapter 22: Kicking Someone Away with a Single Kick
The atmosphere turned cold again. Zhouzhou stopped and looked at them, blinking her eyes, not understanding why they were arguing again.
“Who are you calling a bird-like appetite?” Qin Yan’s face also darkened, and his narrow peach blossom eyes were full of displeasure.
Qin Lie’s expression remained unchanged. He continued holding the dish in front of him and moved it in front of Zhouzhou. “I’m talking about the one who starved himslef into the hospital for the sake of losing weight.”
Qin Yan clenched his teeth. “I’ve already said it’s not for losing weight. It’s to better fit the image of the character!”
“Oh.” Qin Lie’s tone was flat. “Whether it’s from film reviews or box office, I don’t see you fitting the image of the character very well.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Yan exploded instantly. He stood up with a bang and said, “Is money the only thing you care about? Can art be measured by money?”
Qin Lie’s expression remained unchanged, and he calmly said, “Don’t insult art. You haven’t reached that level yet. You’re just a clown jumping around.”
Hearing this, Qin Yan grew even angrier. His chest heaved up and down, and he angrily turned and walked upstairs.
Zhouzhou looked at Qin Lie with some concern. She saw his hand pause for a moment, but quickly returned to his expressionless state.
Seeing this, Zhouzhou sighed deeply. Her dad’s words didn’t match his true thoughts.
“Never mind them, let’s eat.” Madam Qin was really helpless with them. She had tried everything, but they still refused to make amends. Well, they were grown-ups now, and she couldn’t keep coaxing them.
She decided to relax and focused her attention on her little granddaughter.
Zhouzhou nodded and didn’t say anything else. She buried her face in the bowl and ate with gusto.
Madam Qin knew her appetite, but others didn’t. They were a bit surprised to see her eat five bowls of rice nonstop.
Even Qin Feng, who had been quietly eating with his head down and had a low presence, couldn’t help but raise his head and glance at her.
“Mother, will Zhouzhou feel uncomfortable eating so much?” Qin You asked with concern.
Madam Qin waved her hand and explained, “No, Zhouzhou has a big appetite.”
Was it considered big?
Seeing her take another bowl of rice, everyone fell silent for a moment and looked at the little girl with some astonishment. She was so small, yet she could eat so much.
Noticing their gaze, Zhouzhou looked up and felt a bit embarrassed. She scratched her bald head and said, “Master said I naturally have a big stomach.”
As she spoke, her face turned slightly red, feeling a bit shy.
Everyone was instantly charmed by her words. Qin You quickly said, “It’s fine, if you like to eat, then eat more. We have plenty of food at home, and Zhouzhou can help us eat more. It’s not good to waste food.”
Seeing that they didn’t find it strange, Zhouzhou felt relieved. She smiled at them, and her adorable dimples made everyone’s hearts melt. She didn’t notice their reaction and continued eating.
She ate two more bowls before finally putting down her chopsticks.
“Grandma, I’m full now.”
Madam Qin smiled and patted her head. “Then go and play, let your…”
She was about to say that she should play with her older brothers, but when she turned her head, she saw that the boys had all run away, leaving only Qin Feng, who was sitting in a wheelchair and couldn’t leave in time.
After a moment’s pause, she said, “Play with your Seventh Elder Brother for a while.”
“Grandma, this…” Qin Feng looked somewhat helpless as he glanced at his own legs. He wanted to say that he couldn’t play with his sister, but Zhouzhou cheerfully said, “Okay!”
Afterwards, Zhouzhou agilely jumped off the chair and ran over to Qin Feng. She took his hand and said, “Seventh Elder Brother, let’s go play.”

Qin Feng looked at Madam Qin, who was smiling at him, and then at Zhouzhou, whose eyes showed no signs of anything unusual, clear as crystal. He felt a slight sense of relief in his heart. He clenched the blanket on his legs to make sure they were covered tightly before nodding and saying, “Let’s go.”
Zhouzhou gave him a big smile in response and didn’t need anyone else. She pushed his wheelchair and headed outside.
She had great strength and ran fast. In a matter of seconds, they had gone several meters. The wind blew on their faces, making Qin Feng grip the armrest tightly and call out, “Zhouzhou, Zhouzhou.”
“What’s wrong, Seventh Elder Brother?” Zhouzhou stopped and turned her head from behind the wheelchair, blinking her eyes.
Qin Feng also stopped abruptly.
He looked at her, hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and said, “It’s nothing, thank you for your help.”
Upon hearing this, Zhouzhou curved her lips into a smile and said, “No problem at all.”
With that, she huffed and puffed, pushing the wheelchair again. When she heard children’s voices ahead, she stopped.
Curiously, she looked over in that direction and saw her older brothers playing.
Just as she was about to go over, Qin Feng suddenly said, “Zhouzhou, could you please push me over there?”
Zhouzhou looked in the direction he was pointing. It was under a big tree, a hidden spot where they could see the surroundings but others would have a hard time noticing them.
She was a little puzzled but obediently pushed him there. Then she watched as he took out a book and started reading. She sat on a nearby stone, supporting her cheek with her hand, and asked, “Seventh Elder Brother, aren’t you going to play?”
Qin Feng shook his head and subconsciously touched his legs, remaining silent.
Seeing his actions, Zhouzhou understood and was about to say something when a gust of cold wind blew. Qin Feng shivered and turned to her, saying, “Zhouzhou, could you get me a jacket?”
He had forgotten to bring one when he hurried out.
Zhouzhou nodded and said, “Sure.”
With that, she took off with her short legs.
In just a few minutes, she came back holding the jacket but couldn’t find him. All she saw was an empty wheelchair.
Her brows furrowed, and she turned a corner. Her expression immediately changed.
She saw a group of people huddled together, and Qin Feng was sitting on the ground in a sorry state. His brothers and some other people were entangled in a mess, creating a chaotic scene.
Zhouzhou was taken aback and hurriedly ran over to pick up Qin Feng and put him back in the wheelchair. She pushed him to the side, in the corner of the courtyard, and with her tiptoes, she patted his hand, saying, “Seventh Elder Brother, don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you.”
After speaking, she dashed out again. Qin Feng wanted to call her back but couldn’t stop her. His line of sight was blocked by a wall, and he couldn’t see anything, feeling only anxious.
Zhouzhou, on the other hand, was not at all panicked. She kicked one person after another, and soon only a few of Qin’s brothers were still standing.
She was quick in her movements and short in stature, making her inconspicuous in the crowd. No one knew what was going on, thinking they had suddenly fallen to the ground by themselves. They even believed they had been beaten by themselves.
Qin Xi snorted heavily at them, looking fierce, and said, “If you dare to bully Little Seven again, I’ll beat you up!”
With that, he shook his fist.
He was eight years old this year and looked quite strong. Among Qin’s brothers, he was the fiercest in fights. The kids on the ground, feeling the pain, were somewhat afraid. Hearing his words, they quickly got up and ran away.
“Cowards.”
A few people rolled their eyes, and Qin Xi was still somewhat excited. “Did you see how powerful my martial arts have become recently? They all fell with just one move!”
The others really believed that he had defeated them and gave him a thumbs-up.
Only Qin Ren pushed his glasses up and turned his head to look at Zhouzhou. There was a glimmer of inquisitive light in his phoenix-like eyes behind the lenses.
Sensing his gaze, Zhouzhou locked eyes with him for a moment, feeling a sudden jolt in her heart. She quickly ran back to Qin Feng’s side, hiding behind the wheelchair in fear, occasionally peeking at him.
Seeing her like this, Qin Ren couldn’t help but smile. When his gaze fell on Qin Feng, his smile faded slightly. He took a step forward and walked towards him, gently patting his head as he spoke, “Are you okay?”
Qin Feng nodded, his eyes slightly red. But he held back his tears and whispered, “I’m fine.”
With that, he lowered his head and straightened out the blanket that had been disturbed earlier.
Qin Ren didn’t say anything, he just rubbed his head and glanced at Zhouzhou, who was still hiding behind the wheelchair, only showing her bald head. He said, “Let’s go, let’s go home.”
Zhouzhou glanced at him, took over the wheelchair, and dashed off.
She ran at a rapid pace, afraid that even a second’s delay would result in her being sliced into pieces.
Back at home, when Madam Qin saw Qin Feng’s appearance, she exclaimed in shock and quickly asked, “What happened?”
Zhouzhou didn’t know either and shook her head in confusion. They were already fighting when she arrived.
Qin Xi, who happened to return at that moment, grumbled indignantly, “It was those brats from the Liu family. They dared to call Little Seven a sick cripple, pushed him down, and played with his wheelchair. They deserved a beating. If I see them again, I’ll teach them a lesson. I…”
He was passionately speaking when he suddenly caught a signal from Qin Ren. He turned his head to look and saw that Fourth Elder Aunt Wen Yao and Qin Feng’s faces weren’t looking good. His voice immediately softened.
The atmosphere in the living room became silent for several minutes.
Qin Feng was born with a disability in both legs and had been unable to walk. They had consulted numerous doctors over the years, but there had been no progress at all.
To prevent him from feeling sad, they had always been extremely attentive and caring. They never expected the children to say such things.
The adults felt just as uncomfortable hearing those words, let alone Qin Feng himself.
Looking at him, their hearts were filled with pain.
Zhouzhou blinked her eyes, looked at Madam Qin and the others, and then turned to Qin Feng. Suddenly, she spoke up, “I can cure Seventh Elder Brother’s legs.”
