Chapter 23: No More Pain After Eating
A childish voice sounded, and everyone turned to look at her.
Seeing the little figure, they all scoffed.
Qin Bei said, “So many doctors couldn’t cure it, and you, a little kid, can? Stop bragging.”
“I didn’t…” Before finishing her sentence, Zhouzhou saw Qin Ren looking over. She quickly scurried behind Qin Lie, tightly hugging his leg.
Seeing this, Qin Lie lowered his gaze and glanced at her, raising an eyebrow. He never expected that the phrase “little brat” could actually scare her.
With a light cough, Qin Lie said, “Alright, it’s windy outside. Just play at home if you’re fine. Don’t run around, and the rest of you.” He swept his gaze over a few nephews, “No messing around.”
No going out anymore.
Qin Xi felt a little disappointed, but seeing the expression on his uncle’s face, he didn’t dare say much and quickly pulled Qin Dong to run upstairs to the practice room. “Brother, come, accompany me for a few moves.”
The others also found excuses and slipped away.
Only Zhouzhou and Qin Feng were left.
Qin Lie pulled Zhouzhou out from behind him. “What about you?”
Zhouzhou looked around and saw that Qin Ren wasn’t there, so she let out a sigh of relief. “I’ll go accompany Seventh Elder Brother!”
Looking at Qin Feng’s low spirits, Qin Lie pondered for a moment and nodded. “Go ahead, just play at home.”
“Yes, okay.”
Because Qin Feng had difficulty with his legs, his room in the old house was prepared on the first floor.
Zhouzhou pushed him over and saw that he was hanging his head. She patted the book she had picked up earlier and handed it to him. “Seventh Elder Brother, read this.”
Hearing her voice, Qin Feng looked up and met her clear gaze, smiling. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” Zhouzhou brought over a small stool and looked at his legs for a few moments. Then she asked, “Seventh Elder Brother, can I take a look at your legs?”
Hearing this, Qin Feng’s body stiffened. He looked down at her and saw her clear, unassuming eyes. After hesitating for a moment, he nodded ever so slightly.
Even so, when he saw her rolling up his pant leg, his body involuntarily stiffened again. He turned his head to the side, clutching the hem of his clothes, unable to focus on the book anymore.
Zhouzhou didn’t notice his expression. She focused on looking at his legs, and understanding flashed in her eyes.
She didn’t misjudge.
There was a dark aura on Seventh Elder Brother’s legs, dense and entangled with his flesh and bones. It had been there for quite some time.
She asked, “Seventh Elder Brother, have your legs been like this since you were little?”
Qin Feng pursed his lips and took a while before nodding. “Yeah, I was born like this.”
Born like this? No, he wasn’t a Dark Qi physique, so how could he have been born with such darkness? It was clearly something that developed later.
But it seemed like they didn’t know about this.
Zhouzhou touched his legs and pressed down firmly. Then she looked up and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Qin Feng shook his head. “I don’t feel anything.”
Zhouzhou moved to another spot, applying more force. “What about here?”

Qin Feng still shook his head.
Next, she pressed around his knee, including the acupoints on his lower leg. Zhouzhou covered them all, but he had no sensation at all, except for a little on his thighs.
However, Zhouzhou could see that the dark aura was spreading further up. Whether he would still have any sensation in the future was uncertain.
It seemed that this dark aura needed to be resolved as soon as possible.
Thinking of something, she stood up and said, “Wait here, Seventh Elder Brother.”
Then she ran out. After a short while, she came back holding a talisman and a white porcelain bottle. She poured out a pink pill from the bottle and handed it to him.
“Seventh Elder Brother, take this. After eating it, you won’t feel any pain when you sleep at night.”
How did she know?
Qin Feng’s pupils contracted.
He hadn’t mentioned this matter just now.
Although his legs had no sensation, there would be a piercing pain at night. He had mentioned it before, but after the doctors examined him and found nothing, they suspected it was psychological.
But Qin Feng was well aware that he truly felt the pain, a gnawing sensation as if his bones were being devoured by something.
However, the pain would dissipate during the day, and over time, even he himself became confused.
Now, hearing her words and looking into her eyes, he was slightly shocked.
Zhouzhou didn’t notice his reaction. Seeing him blankly staring without moving, she stuffed the pill into his mouth.
The pill dissolved as soon as it entered his mouth, tasting sweet.
Zhouzhou patted his head and said, “Be good, Seventh Elder Brother. You’ll get better.”
Qin Feng snapped out of his daze, savoring the taste in his mouth. It was sweet. He looked up at the serious little girl and couldn’t help but smile.
Perhaps he was overthinking. Eating candy would make the pain go away. It was just a trick to coax children.
He didn’t think too much about it and gently looked at Zhouzhou, saying, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
As she spoke, she handed him the talisman in her hand. “Take this Exorcism Talisman, Seventh Elder Brother. Remember, carry it with you. After seven days, I’ll give you another one.”
The evil aura on his legs had already merged with his flesh and bones, so it couldn’t be directly removed. It had to be gradually eliminated.
One talisman’s power could last for seven days, and then he would need a new one.
Qin Ren happened to come in and caught a glimpse of a bright yellow talisman. He asked, “What are you doing?”
Seeing him, Zhouzhou immediately became guarded, not saying anything. She stuffed the porcelain bottle into Qin Feng’s hand and said, “One pill per day.” Then she hugged her head and ran off.
Qin Feng was a bit dazed, looking at her figure, then at Qin Ren, and asked in confusion, “Eldest Brother, it seems like Zhouzhou is afraid of you.”
Why was that? Eldest Brother was clearly nice.
At his words, Qin Ren pushed his glasses up and said, “I don’t know either.”
Saying that, his gaze fell on what was in his hand. “What is this?”
“It should be candy,” Qin Feng said. “Zhouzhou said that after I eat it, my legs won’t hurt anymore.”
He joked, not really believing it.
After all, over the years, he had seen many doctors, and he had initially been hopeful, but as disappointment grew, he understood one thing: as long as he didn’t hope, he wouldn’t be saddened.
Qin Ren raised an eyebrow. “Can I take a look?”
Without thinking much, Qin Feng handed it over to him, along with the talisman.
Qin Ren took it, opened the bottle cap, and sniffed. A sweet scent filled the air. He poured out a handful and saw a colorful pile of pills, resembling the candies sold in supermarkets. The bottle that contained them was much more advanced, made of top-grade porcelain. He didn’t know where the little girl had gotten it from.
After thinking for a moment, he put everything back and looked at the talisman in his hand, a glimmer of interest in his eyes.
Following his gaze, Qin Feng also smiled. “I didn’t expect Zhouzhou to know how to draw talismans.”
This new little sister was quite interesting.
Qin Ren made a sound of agreement. He hadn’t expected it either.
Soon, he returned the items to Qin Feng and said, “Let me take one to study its composition. Is that okay?”
Hearing this, Qin Feng was somewhat surprised. “Eldest Brother, do you think it’s really medicine?”
Qin Ren nodded. “I can smell a faint medicinal scent.”
Moreover, recalling the scene when they fought earlier, he saw Zhouzhou kick away the short legs of a girl, and each one flew several meters away. He always felt that this little girl was different from ordinary children.
He said, “Let’s give it a try.”
Qin Feng didn’t object and nodded. “Okay.”
Qin Ren stepped forward and ruffled his hair. “Don’t think too much.”
Qin Feng’s nose tingled, and he nodded silently, muttering, “Okay.”
In the living room, Zhouzhou dashed over to Qin Lie’s side, pulled his hand, climbed onto his leg, and then let go of his hand, allowing him to hold her. She buried her head in his embrace, shivering.
“Sob, sob, dad, Eldest Brother is so scary! I don’t want to turn into pieces!”
