Chapter 26: Don’t Let the Apple Fly
As he was halfway through his words, he suddenly noticed Wen Yao’s presence. His voice halted, and he nodded at her, calling out, “Fourth Elder Aunt.”
Wen Yao nodded slightly, smiling at him, and asked with curiosity, “By the way, A’ Ren, what medicine were you talking about just now?”
Qin Ren glanced discreetly at Qin Feng’s direction and saw him shaking his head slightly, understanding his meaning. He calmly replied, “It’s nothing. The biological research institute asked me to study the composition of a medicine. Since Little Feng wants to study medicine in the future, I thought I’d show it to him.”
“Oh, I see.”
Wen Yao nodded, hearing about Qin Feng’s desire to study medicine. She turned to look at him, her eyes full of love and tenderness, and gently patted his head without saying a word.
Qin Feng looked up at her and gave her an obedient smile.
The group of people soon left the room. Qin Feng was eager to know the result, but when he looked at Wen Yao, he suppressed his impulse.
As they reached the living room, they saw Zhouzhou walking in from outside, holding a peach wood sword in her hand, a thin layer of sweat on her forehead.
No wonder they heard some movements earlier. It must have been her practicing with the sword.
Zhouzhou was about to enter the room when she suddenly saw Qin Ren. Startled, she quickly hid the peach wood sword behind her back and greeted with a forced smile, “Good morning, Fourth Elder Aunt, Eldest Brother, Seventh Elder Brother.”
“Oh, Dad is calling me. I’ll go first.” With that, she ran off in a hurry. As she passed by Qin Ren, she even walked backwards but it’s just a clumsy denial resulting in self-exposure, concealing the peach wood sword, afraid of being discovered by him.
Little did she know, what could she possibly hide from being seen? Qin Ren lowered his head and saw everything clearly.
Seeing her like this, he didn’t expose her mischief, quietly watching the little girl’s performance.
In an instant, he understood everything and a slight smile curved his lips, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Qin Feng happened to look up and suddenly caught his gaze. He fell silent and began to understand why his little cousin was so scared of his elder brother.
It was as if his elder brother saw her as an experimental subject. Who wouldn’t be afraid of that? He even felt that at any moment, his elder brother would tie Zhouzhou to his research table and thoroughly study her like a lab rat.
Terrifying.
Zhouzhou was also frightened. After running upstairs, she cautiously opened the door and looked outside. Seeing that Qin Ren hadn’t followed, she let out a sigh of relief.
When Qin Lie came over and saw her sneaky behavior, he raised an eyebrow, grabbed the back of her clothes, and lifted her up, asking, “What are you looking at?”
“I was looking at Eldest Brother.” Zhouzhou confessed honestly, scratching her head with a hint of distress. “Dad, Eldest Brother saw me using the peach wood sword earlier, and his gaze was really scary.”
Although Grandma kept emphasizing that Eldest Brother wouldn’t turn her into little pieces, she still felt uneasy.
The way Eldest Brother looked at her was as if he wanted to study her inside and out.
Zhouzhou shared these concerns with Qin Lie.
Qin Lie wasn’t surprised to hear that. “It’s normal. Science and metaphysics don’t go hand in hand. Scientists are naturally curious, and your existence challenges science. It’s normal for A’ Ren to want to study you.”
“Huh?” Zhouzhou looked at him blankly. “Dad, what is science?”
“It’s the opposite of what you are. You are the unscientific one.”
“I don’t understand.” Zhouzhou shook her head. When she lived on the mountain, the abbot taught her Buddhism, and Master Yuanming taught her Taoism, but no one taught her what science was.
“What should I do then?”
“It’s simple. Don’t reveal any of your fortune-telling, Feng Shui, or spirit-catching abilities in front of him. Moreover, you must never use those strange talismans of yours, especially not making apples fly in the air. Don’t scare your Eldest Brother.”
Otherwise, not only would Newton’s coffin lid not be able to hold, but even your cousin’s worldview would be completely overturned.

Would your Eldest Brother be scared by that?
Zhouzhou’s eyes turned round and round, and she grinned sneakily. Seeing this, Qin Lie raised his hand and lightly flicked her forehead, saying, “What are you laughing at, silly girl?”
“Nothing.” Zhouzhou covered her mouth and shook her head. Seeing that he was dressed neatly as if he was going out, she asked in confusion, “Dad, are you going out?”
“Yes, there’s something at the company. I need to go for a while.”
“I want to go too!” Zhouzhou immediately hugged his leg and said.
“No, there are meetings all day today. You stay at home, and I’ll bring you some snacks when I come back in the evening.”
Zhouzhou wanted to suggest waiting for him outside, but when she heard the second half of his sentence, she remembered the delicious snacks they had yesterday. She couldn’t help but lick her lips and nodded obediently, “Okay, I’ll wait for you at home, Dad.”
What an easy-to-please little foodie.
Qin Lie glanced at her and said, “Hmm,” then walked out with a faint smile on his face that he didn’t even notice himself.
After finishing their meal, Qin Feng was thinking about taking Zhouzhou aside to talk when he saw Zhouzhou running towards him, pushing him towards the room.
Zhouzhou remembered the promise she made to her grandparents yesterday, she had to cure Seventh Elder Brother.
Seeing this scene, except for Grandpa Qin and Grandma Qin, no one else thought much of it. They simply thought that Zhouzhou wanted to play with Qin Feng.
Qin Ren, on the other hand, glanced in their direction with a faint gaze.
Qin Xi also came over to invite him to play but was rejected by him.
Seeing him leave, Qin Xi scratched his head in confusion and asked, “What’s wrong with Eldest Brother? Why does he look like something’s bothering him? Why won’t he take us along?”
“There is only one truth. Eldest Brother has set his sights on our little cousin and wants to study her,” a voice without any fluctuations sounded from behind him. Qin Xi was startled and turned around to see who it was. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes and said, “Third Elder Brother, what are you doing? You scared me.”
Qin Dong glanced at him with a calm and tranquil expression, his eyes filled with contemplation as he stared in the direction of Qin Ren leaving.
Inside the room, after closing the door, Qin Feng couldn’t wait and said, “Zhouzhou, my leg really doesn’t hurt anymore!”
He was full of excitement, but Zhouzhou waved her hand nonchalantly, behaving like a boss who had everything under control. She proudly straightened her small chest and said, “I told you; I can cure Seventh Elder Brother. With me here, I guarantee that your leg will never hurt again, and I can even make Seventh Elder Brother stand up.”
Hearing this, Qin Feng took a deep breath, his eyes widening in astonishment. He looked at her in disbelief and asked, his voice trembling, “R-really?”
“Of course, it’s true.”
Zhouzhou patted her chest and said, “Leave it to me, you can trust me!”
Qin Feng was too shocked to speak for a moment.
Finally, he gritted his teeth and said, “Okay, I’ll listen to you, Zhouzhou!”
The worst outcome would be to maintain the status quo, so there was nothing to lose by giving it a try.
Seeing his expression of resignation, Zhouzhou tiptoed and patted his head, “Seventh Elder Brother, don’t be afraid. Trust Zhouzhou. Grandpa and Grandma, as well as Dad, believe in me a lot. They asked me to come and cure you.”
Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Qin knew about this too?
Hearing this, Qin Feng felt relieved. They were not the type to act recklessly.
Perhaps Zhouzhou was really amazing.
Seeing that he believed her, Zhouzhou said, “Then let’s begin, Seventh Elder Brother.”
“Okay.”
Qin Feng was about to ask her what he needed to do when she approached him, and with a princess-like embrace, she lifted him and placed him on the bed.
His body suddenly floated in the air, and Qin Feng stared at her with wide eyes. He met her soft and relaxed face up close, and he could clearly see the ease on her face.
That’s right, she also carried him onto the wheelchair like this yesterday, but he was distracted at that time and didn’t notice.
Now he realized that his little cousin had such great strength!
Zhouzhou didn’t notice this. After putting him down, she rummaged through her bundle and took out a set of golden needles. It was the set that her Eldest Senior Brother brought back when he returned. He said he had been working for several months to get it.
It’s so good. Working for several months to get a set of golden needles. She might not even be able to get one in her entire lifetime.
Setting aside her envy, Zhouzhou walked to the side of the bed and was about to start needling. Suddenly, she paused and said, “Seventh Elder Brother, before I treat your leg, you have to promise me one thing.”
“What is it?”
Zhouzhou leaned close to his ear and whispered something.
Upon hearing her words, Qin Feng looked bewildered, looking at her in confusion.
“Huh?”
