Chapter 263: Zhouzhou Enters the Treasure Vault, Cleans it Out!
Ten minutes later, Wu Dongfeng took Zhouzhou and Grandpa Xi to a basement before stepping out to prepare the items needed for his ritual. As soon as he left, Grandpa Xi opened his eyes, still dazed from the shocking events earlier. Zhouzhou sprang up from the floor, not even glancing at him, her round eyes curiously exploring the surroundings and exclaiming in amazement.
The basement was filled with various items: wooden fish, chimes, incense burners, fish lanterns—magical tools and artifacts of all kinds, even more comprehensive than those in their own Sanqing Temple.
Excitedly, Zhouzhou opened her small bag and started stuffing everything inside.
“Ruyi, must have it!
Seals, take them!
Seven Star Sword, pack it up!
Not even a single candle holder left for the bad guy!”
By the time Grandpa Xi snapped out of his thoughts, he saw the little girl running around excitedly, grabbing everything she saw and stuffing it into her small bag. Miraculously, her tiny bag could hold items larger than herself, including the tall sword.
Grandpa Xi was astonished, momentarily forgetting even about Xi Zhi. He opened his mouth, finding his voice after a long pause, “What are you doing?”
Zhouzhou glanced back at him briefly, then continued her mission of collecting items. She even found many treasures that once belonged to other Taoists, undoubtedly stolen by the villain through some unscrupulous means.
“Wait until I deal with him!” she thought.
Seeing the girl ignore him, Grandpa Xi awkwardly touched his nose. Xi Zhi’s words had hit him like a slap, making him realize his foolishness. The thought of how he had previously defended her, even bailing her out of prison, made his face burn with shame. It was only natural that Zhouzhou didn’t want to talk to him.
She had called him a fool, and rightly so. He truly had been foolish! Reflecting on these events filled Grandpa Xi with discomfort.
A few minutes later, they heard footsteps approaching. His expression tightened as he urgently said, “Little girl, someone’s coming!”
He intended for Zhouzhou to lie back down and pretend to be unconscious. Instead, her eyes lit up, and she ran straight to the door, positioning herself in the most conspicuous spot.
Grandpa Xi’s heart raced. Instinctively, he rushed to shield her, standing protectively in front of her, his gaze wary as he faced Wu Dongfeng.
Wu Dongfeng was momentarily surprised to see them awake, then sneered, “Good, you’re awake. Using your blood for the ritual will work even better!”
He started to approach them slowly…
Meanwhile, at the kindergarten entrance, luxury cars were already parked even though it wasn’t yet time for school to end. Qin Lie, his face like frost, asked quietly, “Have you found them?”
Ye Lingfeng nodded. “It was someone named Wu Dongfeng who took Zhouzhou. He’s the one who trapped Yaya’s soul for Xi Zhi.”
His expression was cold and severe, a stark contrast to the kind demeanor he usually showed around Zhouzhou. The pressure of his presence was so intense that even the teachers ten meters away turned pale.
Qin Feng was also shaking, barely managing to stand his ground as he nervously asked, “Uncle, how is Zhouzhou?”
He was sweating profusely, deeply regretful. When Zhouzhou had asked him to leave, he should have stayed with her. Then she wouldn’t have been taken. It was all his fault. He had lost his little sister.
Seeing his nephew’s self-reproach, Qin Lie’s expression softened slightly, and he shook his head. “It’s okay.”
Glancing at the surveillance footage Qin Xu had repaired, he noticed Zhouzhou only passed out after finishing her last sugar-coated hawthorn. His mouth twitched; this little glutton really was bold, eating the drugged candy without hesitation, confident in her immunity to poisons.
He estimated that Zhouzhou wasn’t in serious danger, having followed Wu Dongfeng of her own accord, likely able to handle the situation. However, not having her back safely was still unsettling.
“Have you tracked down where Wu Dongfeng went?” he asked.
Wu Dongfeng had likely used some method to conceal his trail, making it difficult even for surveillance to track him.
This time, Wen Jing spoke up, nodding. “Yes, he used some sort of concealment spell.”
She provided a set of coordinates.

Qin Lie skillfully opened the map app on his phone and quickly pinpointed a location.
“Springs Villa,” he murmured.
“That place has seen a lot of trouble in recent years,” Wen Jing said with a cold smile. “Other residents there have either faced endless bad luck or suffered family tragedies, while Wu Dongfeng has only grown more powerful. It’s hard to believe he’s not behind it.”
Qin Lie glanced at the address, then opened the car door. “Let’s go.”
Xi Mo and Xi Yan followed closely, their faces dark with anger. They knew this was Xi Zhi’s doing.
What made them even angrier was that Xi Zhi had been bailed out of prison by Grandpa Xi himself. And the first thing she did after being released was to go after Zhouzhou, even attacking Grandpa Xi, which was beyond insane.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t handle this well,” Xi Mo said quietly, his face as dark as ink.
Ye Lingfeng glanced at him. “Hmph, you know that now. Keep your father in check from now on, so he doesn’t drag my daughter into trouble again.”
An Ya lightly patted him, indicating he shouldn’t speak to her brother that way. She gave Xi Mo an apologetic look.
Xi Mo shook his head, not blaming him. This mess was indeed his responsibility.
Qin Lie started the car and said calmly, “It’s not your fault. You’ve been busy with work.”
Xi Mo had been on a mission the night Zhouzhou started kindergarten and had only just returned. Upon learning Zhouzhou was in trouble, he rushed over immediately. He had done his best.
“Besides, Zhouzhou might not be in any danger.”
“It’s not your daughter, so of course you’re not worried,” Ye Lingfeng retorted, trying to provoke him.
Qin Lie shot him a cold look in the rearview mirror. “Do you not want Zhouzhou anymore?”
Damn! He’s threatening me!
Am I afraid?
Seeing him turn his head away without saying a word, An Ya felt exasperated. He really was acting as if he didn’t want to acknowledge their daughter.
The car fell into silence, and Qin Lie drove at high speed, reducing a two-hour journey to less than one.
Arriving at the villa, the group got out of the car. Wen Jing, who had been calculating along the way, looked somewhat puzzled when they stepped out.
How did she predict that Zhouzhou wouldn’t be in danger and would even have good fortune? Could she have made a mistake?
Just as she pondered this, a loud wail came from inside the villa.
Everyone’s expressions turned serious, and without hesitation, Xi Mo charged in. The others quickly followed, and as they traced the source of the sound to the basement and opened the door, they were stunned by what they saw…
