The kidnappers were baffled by his words, unable to comprehend what was going on. What did he mean by asking who his father was? His father was right outside. Had this kid lost his mind?

Zhouzhou also looked at them. “Uncles, can I see your faces?”

The two kidnappers exchanged confused glances, thoroughly bewildered by this strange request. One of them frowned and snapped, “Be serious! This is a kidnapping!”

“Oh,” Zhouzhou responded, realizing they wouldn’t cooperate. Sighing, she stood up and ran over to them, kicking them both to the ground with ease. They howled in pain.

Seeing this, Huo Ji’an said with concern, “Chubby Girl, be gentle. Don’t hurt my dad.”

“Got it,” Zhouzhou replied. She removed the masks from the kidnappers’ faces and examined them carefully. “Hmm, they’re not your dad.”

Huo Ji’an was instantly disappointed. “Then where is my dad?”

Just then, the door was kicked open, and Huo Mingxuan stood outside with a cold expression. “Which dad are you looking for?”

Huo Ji’an glanced at him briefly before looking away, his expression indifferent. A bodyguard rushed over to untie him. “Young Master, are you alright?”

Huo Ji’an shook his head. “I’m fine. They didn’t hit me.”

“Please, no! We’re sorry! We won’t do it again!” The kidnappers, terrified, begged for mercy as the burly bodyguard began to pummel them.

Qin Lie approached and, seeing that Zhouzhou was unharmed, finally relaxed. Zhouzhou chattered excitedly about Huo Ji’an meeting his new dad today.

Huo Ji’an joined the conversation. “Chubby Girl, will I really meet my new dad today?”

Huo Ji’an thought food wasn’t special enough. Flowers seemed nice. “What kind of flowers?”

Zhouzhou didn’t know, so she looked up at Qin Lie for help. Qin Lie, also unsure, opened a flower shop app on his phone and handed it to them to browse.

Qin Feng joined them, and the three children huddled together, excitedly discussing what flowers to buy for Huo Ji’an’s new dad.

Zhouzhou shook her head. “I think this one is better.”

“What?” Huo Ji’an replied impatiently, finally looking at him. “What do you want?”

Seeing his attitude, Huo Mingxuan’s brow furrowed deeper. “Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

Like an explanation for this “new dad” nonsense. Huo Ji’an thought for a moment and remembered something. “Give me the money. A million yuan. Still missing…”

He couldn’t calculate the exact amount.

“Eight hundred thousand!” Zhouzhou chimed in. She had overheard that the suitcase only had two hundred thousand.

Huo Mingxuan, ignoring him, turned to the kidnappers. “Who put you up to this?”

The kidnappers, beaten and bruised, shook their heads, crying. “No one! We just wanted some money.”

They quickly confessed everything, each sentence revealing more about their incompetence.

“He said to give us a hundred thousand and split the rest with him.”

Huo Mingxuan’s blood pressure soared as he listened. He had suspected various enemies, but to find out his own son was involved was infuriating.
