Chapter 388: A Little Treasure Turned
The black cat dashed into a corner, let out a “meow”, leaped into the air, and streaked towards the sky.
Then its paws seemed to grasp something, and its mouth moved as if it were eating. Though invisible to others, Zhouzhou could clearly see that it was devouring an evil spirit.
A look of astonishment crossed her little face. This was indeed a spirit cat! While she had encountered many cats with spiritual abilities, this was the only one capable of catching spirits.
Zhouzhou trotted over, her eyes fixed on the black cat, which was elegantly licking its paw on the windowsill. She found its movements quite graceful and grew even fonder of it.
The black cat also noticed her gaze, and with its round eyes, it looked at her. Suddenly, it leaped into her arms and affectionately licked her face with its tender little tongue.
Unafraid, Zhouzhou giggled as she held the small black cat, and she even took the initiative to give it a name.
“Jinbao, can I call you Jinbao from now on? I have a big cat named Wangcai at home. You two can play together in the future.”
Before the black cat could respond, a light chuckle sounded from nearby.
Zhouzhou turned her head and saw Luo Jin leaning against the wall, arms crossed, teasingly watching her.
Immediately wary, she didn’t say a word and swiftly ran off with the black cat in her arms.
Her father had warned her not to play with Brother Fox.
Seeing her reaction, Luo Jin arched an eyebrow and leisurely approached. With his long legs, he caught up to Zhouzhou in just a few strides, grabbing her by the back of her collar along with the cat.
“Why run? I’m not going to eat you,” he said nonchalantly.
Suspended in the air, Zhouzhou kicked her short legs in protest, glaring at Luo Jin with puffed-up cheeks. “Brother Fox, put me down!”
“Will you talk to me now?”
Zhouzhou immediately covered her mouth and fell silent. The black cat mimicked her action, its tail covering its mouth.
She didn’t understand why her father didn’t let her play with Brother Fox, but since her father said so, there must be a reason. As a daddy’s girl, she didn’t need to think too much and just obediently listened.
Sensing his mood, Zhouzhou sneakily glanced at him, feeling a bit unreasonable, but she couldn’t disobey her father’s words.
She scratched her head, hesitating. Before she could speak, she suddenly landed on the ground, and the black cat in her arms was taken away.
Momentarily confused, Zhouzhou looked up and heard Luo Jin say, “This is my cat. You can go now.”
His tone was extremely cold.
Zhouzhou looked at the black cat, feeling anxious, but Luo Jin said nothing more. Seeing the black cat obediently nestled in Luo Jin’s arms, she realized it must truly belong to him. Pouting, she reluctantly walked away, her face full of reluctance.
However, after a few steps, a paw suddenly stepped on her shoulder, and she felt something in her arms.
It was the black cat from before.
“Jinbao!” Zhouzhou exclaimed in delight.
“Meow,” the black cat responded, finding a comfortable position in her arms and swaying its fluffy tail contentedly.
Zhouzhou turned her head and saw Luo Jin’s face darken slightly, his eyes still somewhat strange.
This was the second time the black cat had shown affection to someone other than him.
As for the first time, he couldn’t be bothered to mention it.
The black cat didn’t look at his expression, instead licking Zhouzhou’s neck.

It didn’t want to, but she called it her baby. (“Bao” means “Baby” in Chinese)
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Zhouzhou scratched her head and remembered something. She asked, “Brother Fox, can I buy Jinbao with you?”
But Luo Jin just clicked his tongue, glanced at her meaningfully, and looked at the black cat in her arms, his gaze deep. “Forget it.”
“Since it wants to be with you, then let it be.” With that, his gaze swept over the small dragon and tiger shackles around her waist, and he smirked.
She was indeed related to that person.
Without saying anything more, he left in long strides, quickly disappearing from sight.
Watching his departing figure, Zhouzhou felt he was somewhat strange.
Why did she feel like he did it on purpose?
Zhouzhou lowered her head to look at the black cat in her arms. Jinbao meowed softly, its voice tender and innocent as it looked up at her.
Zhouzhou immediately dismissed her previous thoughts and happily played with it.
Jinbao also nestled in her arms obediently, occasionally brushing against the small shackles on her waist, growing even closer to Zhouzhou.
Meanwhile, outside the audition room, Huo Ji’an turned his head towards the direction of the door. When he looked back at Zhouzhou, she was nowhere to be seen, causing him to panic.
Just as he was about to go find her, he suddenly heard someone say, “That Yu Ze, daring to compete with us, truly overestimates himself.”
Upon hearing his father’s name, his steps suddenly halted. The speaker hadn’t noticed him yet, sneering and continuing, “He’s just a freak, disfigured and still shamelessly trying to make it in this industry.”
“Couldn’t agree more,” his companion chimed in, equally disdainful. “I heard he only got this opportunity by cozying up to some big shot. Otherwise, how could he possibly get an audition?”
“Wasn’t it said that Lin Wan tried to seduce him, but he remained faithful?”
“Maybe he just wasn’t interested in Lin Wan. Back then, he was at the top of his game, had choices. But now, he’s a freak. Doesn’t he have to lower his standards? Gotta suck up to the boss…”
With that, the two exchanged a glance, chuckling lecherously.
Huo Ji’an didn’t hear the rest of their conversation, but he knew they were speaking ill of his father. Suddenly furious, he charged at them like a little cannonball, kicking them hard. “You’re the freaks! My dad is handsome!”
Caught off guard by the sudden attack, the two men hesitated for a moment before reacting angrily.
One of them kicked Huo Ji’an, sending him tumbling to the ground with a cry of pain. The other man came over and grabbed his hair.
Zhouzhou arrived just in time to witness the scene, instantly enraged. Holding the black cat, she sprinted over and kicked the men with her chubby little feet.
Her kick was solid, and the men felt like their bones were breaking as they screamed and stumbled to the ground.
“Little Skinny Pole, are you okay?” Zhouzhou hurriedly helped Huo Ji’an up.
“I’m fine.” Seeing her, Huo Ji’an felt relieved. His gaze fell on the man lying on the ground, and he gritted his teeth, jumping on him and hitting him hard. “How dare you insult my dad, spreading rumors…”
He was furious. His dad was so good; why did they have the right to insult him? They were the real freaks!
One of the men who had been talking earlier raised his hand to hit Huo Ji’an, but Zhouzhou’s expression turned cold.
She kicked him, knocking him down and pinning him to the ground with her foot on his chest, rendering him unable to move.
“Little Skinny Pole, there’s another one here.”
“Got it!” Huo Ji’an immediately jumped over and started hitting the other man.
The corridor was soon filled with cries of pain.
When Yu Ze came out of the room and saw the scene, he was stunned. He never expected Huo Ji’an to get into a fight.
Huo Ji’an didn’t see him and kept fighting. “You’re the freak, not my dad. He’s a hundred times better than you!”
Hearing this, Yu Ze’s expression softened slightly. He walked over and grabbed Huo Ji’an’s hand.
Feeling the familiar touch, Huo Ji’an stopped and obediently stood in front of him, reverting to the adorable little boy he was. He obediently called out, “Daddy.”
Yu Ze looked at his messy hair, noticing a few strands had been pulled out and there were traces of blood. His face darkened, and he glared at the two men on the ground.
“Did you bully my son?”
