Chapter 396: Zhouzhou Arrives on the Island
“What is happening?” He sprang to his feet and glanced at Zhouzhou.
Zhouzhou, sensing something amiss, looked up at him, clutching his sleeve and pointing to his phone. An ominous feeling crept into her heart.
Qin Lie pressed his thin lips together, hesitated for a moment, and then sat down, turning on the speaker.
Chen Tuo’s voice was anxious, “Boss is injured and unconscious. Mr. Qin, could Master Zhou come to check on him?”
What?
Zhouzhou’s heart tightened, and she quickly leaned over to ask, “Stinky little brother, why is Sharp Tongue Daddy unconscious?”
As she spoke, she calculated with her chubby fingers, her brows furrowing.
The situation did not seem good.
Chen Tuo, sounding urgent and bound by confidentiality, briefly explained, “He was poisoned. Master Zhou, can you come? Wen Jing had checked earlier but couldn’t help.”
He wouldn’t have asked Zhouzhou to come if it weren’t this serious.
He knew the boss didn’t really want Zhouzhou involved in these matters.
“Of course,” Zhouzhou immediately agreed, looking up at Qin Lie with worry.
Qin Lie nodded slightly and asked, “Where is the address? I will take Zhouzhou there now.”
“No need, someone is already on their way to pick up Master Zhou. Sorry, Mr. Qin, only Master Zhou can come.”
The island must remain concealed.
Hearing this, Qin Lie frowned slightly. Zhouzhou, however, had already dashed upstairs to gather her things, stuffing all the prepared medicine into her bag just in case it might come in handy.
Seeing this, Qin Lie couldn’t say much, and he solemnly said, “Protect Zhouzhou well.”
“Also, Luo Jin came looking for Zhouzhou.”
“What? What does that guy want with Master Zhou?” A voice exclaimed, sounding like Ye Lingfeng was coughing up blood.
Chen Tuo hurriedly spoke a few more words and then said to Qin Lie, “Never mind, let’s not worry about him now. I have to go. Someone will come for Master Zhou soon. Mr. Qin, just leave the rest to them.”
With that, he hung up the phone.
Qin Lie stared at the phone screen, his brows slowly knitting together.
If it weren’t for the fact that it was Chen Tuo’s number and his voice, he would have thought the other party was a human trafficker.
He wondered how Ye Lingfeng was doing.
Not long after, Zhouzhou came running down the stairs with a bulging little bag. She looked up and asked, “Daddy, is Stinky little brother coming to pick us up?”
Qin Lie was puzzled too.
Since he mentioned an island, it must be quite far. Should they head to the airport first?
As he was thinking, he heard a roaring noise outside.
Qin Lie was slightly stunned. Could it be what he was thinking?
Zhouzhou heard the noise and quickly ran outside with her short legs. She looked towards the source and exclaimed, her mouth forming a perfect “O.”

Wow, an airplane!
Soon, a helicopter descended onto the clearing in front of the Qin residence, and a rope was dropped. Someone slid down the rope immediately after.
Dressed in black with a cold expression, it was Wan Leng, Ye Lingfeng’s subordinate, whom Zhouzhou had previously saved from demonic energy.
Zhouzhou recognized him and waved energetically.
Wan Leng strode over and nodded slightly at Qin Lie, saying, “I’ve come to pick up Miss.”
Qin Lie nodded, “Please take good care of her.”
“I will.”
Wan Leng then turned to Zhouzhou, “Miss, shall we go?”
“Yes,” Zhouzhou nodded eagerly, her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at the helicopter above.
She jumped but couldn’t reach the rope.
Wan Leng picked her up, allowing her to grab hold of it.
Zhouzhou glanced back at Qin Lie and said softly, “Daddy, I’ll go check on Sharp Tongue Daddy and come back soon.”
“Alright.” Qin Lie stepped forward, instinctively supporting her despite knowing she wouldn’t fall. “Be careful and tell Ye Lingfeng and the others if anything happens.”
“Got it.” Zhouzhou nodded, suddenly letting go of the rope to leap into his arms, planting a kiss on his face. “Daddy, don’t be jealous. You’re still my favorite daddy.”
“Yes, I know.” The coldness in Qin Lie’s demeanor softened as he helped her grab the rope again. “Go ahead, the sooner you go, the sooner you’ll be back.”
“Okay.” Hugging the rope again, Zhouzhou kicked her chubby legs and swiftly climbed up, her movements no less adept than those of trained personnel.
Jinbao leaped onto her shoulder and followed her up the helicopter.
Hearing the commotion, Wangcai also ran out. Seeing this, it wanted to join but couldn’t jump high enough due to its large size, and could only anxiously pace in circles, howling incessantly.
Seeing Zhouzhou had climbed up, Wan Leng patted Wangcai and bent slightly, signaling it to climb on.
Wangcai didn’t hesitate, jumping onto his back and clutching his shoulders tightly.
The familiar movement showed it wasn’t the first time.
It had seen him come down this way when they returned to the country previously.
Wan Leng, carrying Wangcai, climbed onto the helicopter with smooth, unhesitant movements.
Zhouzhou leaned against the window, waving her little hand continuously.
Qin Lie watched from below and waved back.
Time was pressing; Ye Lingfeng was still waiting for her. Soon, the helicopter door closed, and it swiftly took off.
Zhouzhou remained by the window, watching until Qin Lie was out of sight before reluctantly turning away.
She looked at Wan Leng and worriedly asked, “What kind of poison did Sharp Tongue Daddy get?”
“A kind of herb poison we don’t recognize.”
He took out a box and opened it to reveal a herb.
If he hadn’t said it was poison, one might have thought it was a flower.
It looked quite beautiful, with vividly colored petals.
Zhouzhou didn’t touch it but examined it closely, her brows furrowing. “I don’t recognize it either.”
She had never seen it before.
Wan Leng wasn’t surprised. It was unique to tropical rainforests, and it was normal for her not to have encountered it.
“We’ll check on the boss first.”
That was all they could do.
Zhouzhou nodded.
Jinbao jumped onto Wangcai, making Wangcai want to scratch it again.
But with the limited space in the helicopter, it had to give up.
It rolled its eyes and lay on the ground, ignoring Jinbao.
Jinbao, thinking Wangcai had accepted it, happily snuggled against its face.
Zhouzhou watched them and giggled.
She turned to look outside, her curiosity piqued by the endless clouds.
Soon, Wangcai and Jinbao joined her at the window.
Wan Leng watched them silently, resting with his eyes closed.
After over three hours, the helicopter began its descent, landing on a clearing on the island.
“Are we here?”
Zhouzhou asked curiously, poking her head out as the door opened.
She spotted a familiar red figure and widened her eyes in surprise. “Brother Fox?”
