Chapter 443: Bring His Mother Here
As expected, by evening, Sun Mei began her antics. She suddenly requested a meal from outside, asking Lu Qing to fetch it.
Lu Qing, his eyes covered with a black cloth, glanced in her direction with indifference.
He said nothing, nodded obediently, and walked out, pretending not to see the calculating smile on her face.
In truth, he too was plotting. He glanced at the fraying kinship thread in his hand, and a faint smile appeared on his lips. Soon, it wouldn’t exist.
Once outside the hospital, after taking a few steps, a car abruptly stopped beside him. A man in black swiftly pulled him into the car, which then sped away.
“Who are you?” Lu Qing asked, feigning panic.
The man in black sneered, “If you don’t want to die, be quiet.”
Lu Qing immediately fell silent, lowering his eyes, appearing frightened. The man in black felt disdain but didn’t notice a car trailing them closely.
Inside that car, Zhouzhou kept her eyes fixed on the vehicle ahead, clenching her small fists. As expected, the bad person was planning to sell Fifth Senior Brother.
Hmph, once Fifth Senior Brother was no longer connected to her, she would give her a good beating to ensure she never bullied her fifth senior brother again!
“Uncle Sweetie, follow closely and don’t lose them,” Zhouzhou instructed the bodyguard.
The bodyguard nodded, gripping the steering wheel confidently. “Don’t worry, Master Zhou. We won’t lose them. We can’t get too close, or they’ll notice. I’ve got experience with this, leave it to me.”
“Okay,” Zhouzhou nodded vigorously, looking at him with admiration. “Uncle Sweetie, you’re amazing.”
The bodyguard suddenly felt a surge of pride, straightening his posture. Indeed, it was more enjoyable working with Master Zhou, unlike Mr. Huo, who always wore a gloomy expression as if someone owed him money, making everyone uncomfortable.
Unlike with Master Zhou, where they could enjoy sweets, gossip, and some playful fights—life was much better this way.
He continued driving, and soon the car stopped in front of a villa. He and Zhouzhou parked at a distance, waiting until everyone was inside before sneaking over.
Finding no one around, they easily reached the window. Seeing Zhouzhou crouched beneath the window, the bodyguard nearly burst into laughter.
Master Zhou, could you not be so unaware of your height? Even if you jumped, you wouldn’t reach the window!
Unaware of his thoughts, Zhouzhou pressed her ear against the wall, listening intently to the sounds inside.
In the living room, Lu Qing, escorted by the man in black, arrived to see a man with a gold chain around his neck sitting on the sofa. Lu Qing’s expression remained indifferent, showing no surprise.
Mr. Zheng raised his hand, revealing a gold ring, and played with two walnuts. His chubby face was full of smiles. “Master Lu, please sit.”
He then glanced at the man in black beside him, his expression darkening. The flesh on his face looked fierce as he barked, “Show some respect! Master Lu is our honored guest. Offer him a seat properly!”
The man in black, understanding the cue, pressed Lu Qing onto the sofa.
Mr. Zheng’s expression remained unchanged. This was his plan all along. He observed Lu Qing, noting his calm demeanor, and a glint of intrigue flashed in his eyes.
He poured a cup of tea and handed it to Lu Qing with a smile. “I heard Master Lu came from Sanqing Temple?”
He wasn’t foolish, not believing everything Sun Mei said. He had consulted many masters without success before considering Lu Qing.
Upon investigation, he found out Lu Qing indeed came from Sanqing Temple, which had recently gained significant fame.
Sanqing Temple had become well-known for its efficacious divinations. Therefore, Mr. Zheng targeted Lu Qing, surprised that Lu Qing repeatedly refused him.
A mere Taoist, daring to slight him—he’d show him a lesson.
His eyes flashed with menace. Even from a distance, Zhouzhou sensed his murderous intent and clenched her fists, ready to rush in, but Lu Qing’s voice stopped her.

Lu Qing spoke calmly, “Mr. Zheng, your forehead is sunken, and your temples are blue. You’ve had frequent dealings with the police, haven’t you?”
Mr. Zheng’s eyes narrowed, his face changing. “What else can you see?”
Lu Qing said, “Within three days, you will face imprisonment, and your family will be ruined, your wife and children separated.”
Hearing this, Mr. Zheng sprang to his feet. “Is this true?”
Indeed, the police had been targeting him lately. Knowing his own misdeeds, he feared the consequences.
Unperturbed by the question, Lu Qing calculated and slowly uttered a location, “Thirty miles west of the capital, under a tree.”
Mr. Zheng’s face turned pale, and he hastily offered the tea cup to Lu Qing. “Master Lu, please have some tea.”
Lu Qing glanced at it but didn’t move.
Mr. Zheng, growing desperate, asked, “Master, is there a way to avoid this fate? Name your price, and I’ll meet it.”
Lu Qing replied, “The outcome is set and cannot be changed.”
Mr. Zheng’s expression shifted several times before he signaled the man in black, who immediately surrounded Lu Qing.
Mr. Zheng sneered, “If I’m doomed, then you’ll accompany me to the underworld.”
Hah, as if he deserved that.
Zhouzhou clenched her fists, her hair bristling with anger. Though furious, she remembered their plan and continued waiting.
Lu Qing remained indifferent. Mr. Zheng, gritting his teeth, gestured to the man in black, who raised his hand to strike Lu Qing.
At that moment, a cry came from outside.
“Don’t hit my brother!” Zhouzhou ran in, clutching Lu Qing’s leg, crying.
Her sudden appearance startled everyone, but her small size made them dismiss her.
Mr. Zheng eyed Zhouzhou, sneering. “Master Lu, if you don’t cooperate, this little sister of yours will join me.”
Though she seemed simple-minded, she was fair-skinned and delicate. Surely, he would soften.
Unexpectedly, Lu Qing pushed Zhouzhou away coldly. “Do as you wish. She’s just a sister without blood relation.”
Hearing this, Zhouzhou was thunderstruck, her eyes wide, tears streaming as if deeply hurt.
She wailed, “I knew it! You only care about your mother, who always beats you! I’ve been so good to you, and you say this? You have no heart, my life is so bitter!”
Her heart-wrenching cries caught Mr. Zheng’s attention. He immediately ordered, “Bring his mother here.”
Now that he had leverage, he wouldn’t let Lu Qing go easily.
