Chapter 458: You All Chat Among Yourselves
His sudden arrival startled everyone around. Zhouzhou blinked and looked down, recognizing the Taoist from yesterday.
He still wore his Taoist robes, now filthy and drenched in sweat, his face pale with fear, dark circles under his eyes from a sleepless night.
Zhouzhou knew immediately what had happened. She kicked her chubby leg in displeasure, pushing him away.
“Don’t call me. Who told you not to listen to me?” she pouted, clearly unhappy. He had doubted her abilities, and she was not inclined to forgive him.
The Taoist, tormented by spirits all night, was too terrified to care about dignity and clung to her leg again.
This time, a large foot kicked him away before he could touch her. He rolled away in fright.
Huo Ji’an, stepping out of the car, saw this scene and hurried over, pulling Zhouzhou behind him protectively.
He glared at the Taoist, “What are you doing? If you dare to bully Chubby Girl, I’ll sue you!” He bared his teeth in a menacing grin, attempting to look fierce.
The bodyguard sighed, glancing at Huo Ji’an. Little master, what kind of threat was that? He turned to Zhouzhou, reassuring her, “Master Zhou, don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
He had been the one to kick the Taoist away. How dare he bully Master Zhou? He must have been tired of living.
Zhouzhou blinked. She hadn’t been bullied. The Taoist hastily explained, “I’m not here to bully anyone, I’m here to pay!”
He looked pleadingly at Zhouzhou. “Little Celestial Master, sell me a talisman, please. No, I need ten!” He pulled out his wallet, revealing the money.
Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up, and she quickly helped him up. “Oh dear, a misunderstanding,” she said, looking sternly at the bodyguard.
“Uncle Sweetie, how could you treat a customer like this? You must be polite.”
The bodyguard, confused, saw Zhouzhou eyeing the Taoist’s wallet and sighed. It was his fault for interrupting Master Zhou’s business.
Zhouzhou turned and smiled at the Taoist. Seeing too many people around, she led him to a corner.
Hands-on her hips, she declared, “You didn’t want it yesterday, so the price has gone up today!”
“How much? I’ll pay anything,” the Taoist said, desperate to avoid another night of ghostly pursuit.
Zhouzhou wiggled five fingers in his face and declared, “Two hundred fifty per talisman!” She spoke clearly, her expression one of gleeful exploitation.
The Taoist, who usually charged a thousand per talisman, was speechless, feeling a mix of frustration and amusement.
He pulled out three thousand yuan, slapped it into her hand, and said generously, “Three hundred per talisman, I want ten!”
He thought Zhouzhou looked foolish, but Zhouzhou thought he was an idiot. Who haggles to raise the price?
She didn’t mind the extra money, swiftly pocketing it and eyeing him warily as if afraid he’d change his mind.
Seeing her vigilance, the Taoist rolled his eyes internally. Did she think this small amount mattered to him?
If Zhouzhou could read minds, she’d have charged him an extra hundred.
Zhouzhou handed him ten talismans. “Here, these will protect you from the spirits,” she said.
At her words, the Taoist shivered, the terror of the previous night resurfacing. He looked around nervously. “Little Celestial Master, did I really encounter ghosts yesterday?”
Zhouzhou gave him a skeptical look. “Don’t you know what you encountered? Did the long-tongued aunt or the tall uncle not come to you?”
At the mention of the “long-tongue,” the Taoist stiffened, sweat breaking out on his forehead.
“Alright, alright, no need to say more,” he interrupted hastily, clutching the talisman tightly. He felt the ominous presence dissipate and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“But will they go away completely?” he asked anxiously.
Zhouzhou shook her head, “No, they’ll return once the talisman wears off.”
“What? Isn’t there a permanent solution? Like sending them to reincarnate?” he gestured across his throat, making a fierce face.
At that moment, an irate spirit charged at him but was repelled by a sudden flash of white light.
The Taoist yelped as the spirit slammed into the wall, stunned and dazed. One of the talismans in his hand spontaneously combusted, burning his palm slightly. He dropped it, shocked.
This talisman had saved him! Eyes wide with astonishment, he looked at Zhouzhou with newfound respect. She wasn’t a fraud after all!
Without hesitation, he took out his wallet again, his demeanor becoming more respectful.
“Little Celestial Master, do you have more protective talismans? I’ll buy them all.”
Zhouzhou shook her head, “I have more, but this won’t solve the root problem. You need to deal with the cause yourself to be free of these spirits.”
“Me? Deal with them?” The Taoist shook his head. “I can’t, I’m just a con artist, I can’t exorcise ghosts.”
Zhouzhou gave him a sideways glance. “Finally admitting it, aren’t you? You’re just a fraud!” The Taoist blushed under her scrutiny, giving her a sheepish smile.
“I’m not asking you to send them to reincarnate. The karma isn’t resolved, so they can’t reincarnate. You need to address the karma,” she explained.
The Taoist, Huo Ji’an, and the bodyguard all looked at her, bewildered. They didn’t understand her words but felt impressed by her apparent wisdom.
Just then, the school bell rang, and the teacher at the gate called for Zhouzhou. She quickly handed the Taoist another talisman, “Just talk to them. Help them fulfill their wishes, and they’ll stop bothering you.”
With that, she grabbed Huo Ji’an’s hand and ran towards the kindergarten.
The Taoist, bewildered, looked at the talisman in his hand. He hadn’t paid for it. Was it a bonus?
He was about to leave when he suddenly saw several pale faces, notably one with a three-foot-long tongue dragging on the ground. The people around seemed oblivious.
They were spirits, visible only to him. The realization hit him, and he turned, shouting desperately, “Little Celestial Master, save me!”
