Chapter 482: Returning the Favor
Ignoring any pretense, Wei Xuhong immediately opened his eyes and rushed inside. Sensing the urgency, Zhouzhou and Qin Xi exchanged a glance and quickly followed.
The scene in the living room was infuriating. The floor was a mess, with broken bowls and steaming soup splattered everywhere—half on the floor, half on Mrs. Wei.
It was hot in the summer, so she was wearing short-sleeved shirt, and the scalded area was already swollen and red.
Qian Duoduo, with his back to them, stood akimbo and barked, “Clean this up now! You broke our bowl, you have to pay! I’ll have my dad deduct your salary for this month!”
Terrified by his words, Mrs. Wei, despite her pain, hurriedly knelt to pick up the pieces, begging him not to deduct her wages.
Wei Xuhong, with reddened eyes, stepped forward to help her up, murmuring, “Mom, let me do it.”
Seeing the large red mark on her hand, his eyes welled up with uncontrollable tears. Zhouzhou clenched her tiny fists.
Qian Duoduo, still arrogant, taunted, “Then you clean it up, Wei Xuhong. Lick the dirt off the floor, and I won’t deduct your pay.”
He reveled in his perceived power, thinking he could bully Wei Xuhong as he pleased, regardless of the Qin family’s support.
Before he realized what was happening, someone grabbed his collar, lifted him off the ground, and hurled him across the room.
With a thud, Qian Duoduo slammed into the wall and crumpled to the floor, his head reeling from the impact.
Zhouzhou glared at him, her tiny fists crackling. She tossed a coin at his feet, mimicking his haughty demeanor, “Here’s your money, for your medical expenses.”
Mr. Qian stared at the coin in shock, his cold sweat dripping as he looked at Zhouzhou.
Qin Lie’s daughter, so adorably small, had just effortlessly lifted his son. He gulped, a sense of dread washing over him, fearing she might do the same to him.
Desperately, he hurried to Zhouzhou, bowing, “Miss Qin, please calm down. Tell me what happened, and I assure you, I won’t cover for him.”
Zhouzhou gave him a disdainful glance. A child’s misbehavior was the parent’s fault, she thought.
Zhouzhou asked, “In your house, does money make everything right after a beating?” Mr. Qian swallowed hard, his foreboding growing.
Before he could answer, Mu Xuan, watching the scene, said, “Indeed, I have a video here.”
He played a clip showing Qian Duoduo throwing money after bullying someone earlier on the basketball court, footage provided by Ye Lingfeng as evidence.
Zhouzhou nodded, her plump cheeks dimpling with a sweet smile. “Uncle, I’m an honest person. I did exactly what you said. You said money makes everything right.”
She approached Qian Duoduo and tossed another coin at him, “Here, take this money and get rich today!”
Mr. Qian flinched, fearing she might hit his son again. He hurriedly intervened, “Miss Qin, please, let’s talk.”
Zhouzhou, puzzled, asked, “Didn’t you say money makes everything right? I’ve given the money. Don’t tell me I can’t hit him now?”
She mimicked Qin Lie’s imposing stance, her double chin undermining her fierce attempt, but Mr. Qian, knowing Qin Lie’s reputation, didn’t dare oppose her.
“No, no, that’s not what I meant.” He quickly retrieved the coin from the floor and handed it back to Zhouzhou, “Please, have a seat. Don’t hurt your hand.”
Zhouzhou snorted but didn’t punch again. She walked over to Wei Xuhong and his mother, pulled out a salve from her bag, and handed it to him.
“Here, brother, use this for your mother. It will ease the pain.”
Grateful, Wei Xuhong accepted the salve, thanking her sincerely. Zhouzhou shook her head and led them to the sofa. Mrs. Wei, hesitant and fearful, looked at Mr. Qian.
Zhouzhou tossed another coin at him, “Is it enough for them to sit on your sofa? If not, ask my dad.”
“Enough, enough,” Mr. Qian shivered and nodded quickly. There was no way he’d dare ask Qin Lie for money unless he was tired of living.

“Sit down, everyone, please sit,” he urged, not daring to delay and immediately signaling to Mrs. Wei.
Mrs. Wei, bewildered and unsure who the young girl was, watched as Wei Xuhong helped her sit down and quietly explained, “Zhouzhou is a good person.”
Mrs. Wei had already noticed this. The young girl was protecting them.
Still unclear about the situation and worried she might make things worse, Mrs. Wei stayed silent and let Wei Xuhong apply medicine for her. Surprisingly, after the medicine was applied, it seemed the pain was genuinely lessened.
Once everyone was settled, Zhouzhou also sat on the sofa. Exhausted, she lifted her left foot onto her right knee, but lost her balance and toppled backward, rolling into the soft sofa cushions.
Zhouzhou ended up flat on her back, staring at the ceiling in bewilderment. Where was her imposing posture? Where was her commanding presence? Gone!
Qin Xi almost burst into laughter, but Mu Xuan stepped forward, helped the young girl up, and positioned her back against the sofa, crossing her legs properly.
Pretending nothing had happened, Zhouzhou tightened her small face, placed her chubby hand on the armrest, and pulled out a coin from her bag. With a flick of her wrist, she sent it flying towards Qian Duoduo.
With a sharp “clang,” the coin embedded itself straight into the floor, piercing right through the hardwood.
Seeing the half-embedded coin, Qian Duoduo finally snapped out of his pain-induced daze. His mouth opened, and he instantly burst into tears.
“Waahhh—”
“Dad, help me!!!”
