Chapter 529: Father-Daughter Coordination
“Dad, I have to go save Little Skinny Pole,” Zhouzhou said urgently.
“No!” Ye Lingfeng refused without hesitation, his tone exceedingly stern. “Zhouzhou, listen to me. Jiao Yong is no ordinary criminal; he’s the most cunning of them all. That place must be full of traps by now. It will be extremely dangerous for you.”
“I’ll go. Don’t worry. I will bring Huo Ji’an back safely.”
He raised his voice, “Qin Lie, keep an eye on Zhouzhou.”
Before Zhouzhou could cover her smartwatch, her voice had already reached Qin Lie’s ears.
Having heard everything, he turned to Zhouzhou and said, “Listen.”
“But Little Skinny Pole…”
“I will bring him back unharmed,” Ye Lingfeng declared firmly.
Zhouzhou thought for a moment, then nodded, yet couldn’t help but remind him, “Dad, you must be careful too.”
“Mm.” Ye Lingfeng’s gaze softened, “Don’t worry. I haven’t yet become your favorite dad. Nothing will happen.”
With that, he hung up the phone.
Seeing the already subdued criminals, his eyes turned cold.
Anyone who dared to target Zhouzhou was courting death!
On the plane, Zhouzhou sat cross-legged on her seat, her chubby cheeks resting on her hands, her small plump fingers calculating, brows furrowed tightly.
The situation looked bleak.
She turned to Qin Lie and said, “Dad, can we go near Little Skinny Pole? I promise I won’t go close. I just want to wait for Sharp Tongue Daddy.”
The signs were ominous, and she feared something might happen.
Understanding her concern, knowing it was impossible to take her away, Qin Lie nodded.
He looked down at the map in his hands and quickly pinpointed the best landing spot.
Soon, the plane landed. Qin Lie carried Zhouzhou near where Huo Ji’an was held.
Seeing an abandoned building not far away, with a small window on the second floor that overlooked Huo Ji’an’s location without being noticed, he knew it was an ideal place to hide.
Holding Zhouzhou, he walked briskly towards the building.
Zhouzhou stayed quietly in his arms, understanding the gravity of the situation, without making a fuss.
Once they were upstairs, she pulled out binoculars from her bag and quickly surveyed the scene inside.
There weren’t many people, only four, but each exuded a murderous aura, clearly hardened criminals.
They seemed to be moving something, their actions furtive, definitely not up to anything good.
“Dad,” Zhouzhou whispered to Qin Lie, handing him the binoculars, “Look at what they’re carrying.”
Qin Lie nodded, took the binoculars, and upon seeing what it was, his face changed slightly.
Explosives!
Ye Lingfeng was right; they had come prepared. They didn’t plan on leaving alive, intending to take Ye Lingfeng down with them.

Qin Lie’s expression grew serious, “Zhouzhou, call Ye Lingfeng.”
Noticing his grim expression, Zhouzhou asked no questions and dialed the number immediately. However, the call indicated that the phone was off.
Ye Lingfeng always turned off his phone during missions.
As she thought this, a car pulled up at the entrance, and a tall figure emerged. It was none other than Ye Lingfeng.
Zhouzhou’s breath caught, tension gripping her. She wanted to rush over and warn him of the danger.
However, Ye Lingfeng’s gaze casually swept over their hiding place, his hand behind his back making a subtle gesture.
Zhouzhou understood. He was telling her to stay put and await further instructions.
Resisting the urge to move, she kept her eyes fixed on them, her grip tightening on a stone she had picked up earlier.
Her gaze turned fierce.
Anyone who dared harm her dad would face her wrath!
Seeing that she remained obedient, Ye Lingfeng’s gaze shifted to the wary man at the entrance.
The lackey, noticing Ye Lingfeng’s look, retreated a step in fear.
The reputation of the “War God” was never unfounded.
Ye Lingfeng sneered disdainfully, leaning casually against the car, “Jiao Yong, come out. Did you call me here just to hide inside like a coward?”
A minute later, a figure appeared at the entrance. Jiao Yong, holding Huo Ji’an, looked around cautiously, squinting at Ye Lingfeng. “Did you come alone?”
“Of course.” Ye Lingfeng toyed with the gun in his hand, glancing at him, “Do you think I need more people to deal with you?”
Infuriated, Jiao Yong tightened his grip on Huo Ji’an’s neck. “Ye Lingfeng, your son is in my hands. Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill him?”
At these words, Ye Lingfeng’s calm facade cracked, his face darkening. “What do you want?”
Seeing Ye Lingfeng’s reaction, Jiao Yong felt he had found his weakness, a smugness rising within him.
“Simple. First, throw away your gun.”
Ye Lingfeng glanced at Huo Ji’an, seemingly reluctant, but eventually tossed the gun to the ground.
Jiao Yong signaled his lackey to retrieve the gun.
“Step back. I need your car.”
Ye Lingfeng didn’t move. “Give me my son first.”
“You are in no position to negotiate,” Jiao Yong tightened his grip, causing Huo Ji’an to cough, his face turning blue from suffocation.
Seeing this, Ye Lingfeng appeared frightened, his expression tensing. “Take the car.”
He stepped back a few paces.
The lackey immediately climbed into the front seat, starting the car. Jiao Yong, still holding Huo Ji’an, moved towards the vehicle, relieved by Ye Lingfeng’s lack of action.
A sinister glint flashed in his eyes. As he reached the car, he suddenly tossed Huo Ji’an towards Ye Lingfeng.
“You want him? Take him!”
With that, he threw Huo Ji’an out.
Ye Lingfeng rushed to catch Huo Ji’an, but the feel of him made him pause.
Huo Ji’an coughed, gasping, “Uncle Ye, you need to leave. I have explosives on me!”
He lifted his shirt, revealing a belt of explosives around his waist.
Ye Lingfeng looked up at Jiao Yong.
The car was already moving away, Jiao Yong’s hand emerging from the window, holding a remote. “Ye Lingfeng, pay for my brothers’ lives with yours!”
He pressed the button.
At that moment, Ye Lingfeng made a sharp gesture.
A stone whizzed through the air, embedding itself in Jiao Yong’s wrist with a “thud.”
Jiao Yong screamed in pain, instinctively dropping the remote.
Seeing the situation deteriorate, the lackey quickly fired at Ye Lingfeng.
But Ye Lingfeng was faster. Drawing another gun from his waist, within seconds, each of the criminals had a bullet in their wrists. The car veered out of control, crashing into a tree.
Zhouzhou saw it all, triumphantly placing her hands on her hips.
She had done missions with her dad before; their teamwork was impeccable!
Qin Lie also breathed a sigh of relief, but the next moment, seeing the storm clouds gathering above Zhouzhou, his pupils constricted.
“Zhouzhou!”
