Chapter 67: Grandpa
After two minutes, Zhouzhou came down from upstairs with a key and handed it to Wen Yao.
“Father told me that Fourth Elder Aunt understands art. Can she help me sell these paintings?” she asked.
It was the art studio key that Cui Rong had given her. Zhouzhou hadn’t had a chance to look at the paintings inside yet, but her grandmother had told her they were valuable.
Zhouzhou wanted to exchange them for money.
She didn’t appreciate art and thought the paintings were just pieces of paper. Besides, she preferred the color red.
Cui Rong had given them to her, expecting her to handle it herself, which was understandable.
Wen Yao pondered for a moment and said, “I’m not very familiar with this area, but I can introduce you to someone who can help you sell them. He has a wide network of contacts.”
“Great, thank you, Fourth Elder Aunt!” Zhouzhou replied happily.
Wen Yao smiled at her, her eyes filled with affection. “You’re welcome.”
After finishing their meal, Wen Yao drove to a location in the old city, accompanied by Qin Feng.
The place she was going to had quite a crowd nearby. They stopped in front of a residential complex, and with gifts in hand, Wen Yao led the two children upstairs and knocked on the door.
“Who is it?” Grandma Wen’s voice sounded from inside.
Wen Yao looked at Qin Feng, who understood and pursed his lips, smiling. “Grandma, it’s me, Little Feng.”
“Oh, Little Feng.” Upon hearing his voice, Grandma Wen hastened her steps and quickly opened the door, overjoyed to see her grandson outside. “Little Feng, you’re here. Come in, come in.”
As she spoke, she suddenly noticed something, and her expression froze. Her gaze slowly moved downward, looking at his two legs standing on the ground. There was still a wheelchair behind him, but it was a bit far away, and his legs were not supported by it.
In other words, he was standing on his own.
Realizing this, Grandma Wen’s eyes widened, and she suddenly exclaimed, “Old Wen!”
Grandpa Wen was in the midst of painting. Startled by his wife’s cry, his hand trembled, causing the lines on the paper to go askew. He walked out, slightly displeased, “What’s with the commotion…”
Before he finished speaking, he also saw his grandson standing outside. The shock on his face mirrored Grandma Wen’s, and he quickly walked out, “Little Feng, you…”
They had already anticipated this, and Qin Feng looked at them, smiling and calling out, “Grandfather.”
“Grandfather.” At this moment, another little head suddenly appeared outside the door. Zhouzhou leaned against the door, looking up at them, her voice soft and tender.
The sudden appearance of a child startled the elderly couple once again. Their gaze fell on Zhouzhou, and Grandma Wen asked in confusion, “And who is this?”
Qin Feng had just stood up, and it was a struggle for him. Wen Yao saw that he couldn’t support himself and quickly helped him onto the wheelchair. Upon hearing the question, she smiled and said, “This is Zhouzhou, A’lie’s daughter, and she’s also the one who cured Little Feng’s legs.”
As for the specifics of the treatment process, it involved some mystical elements, and she was afraid she couldn’t explain it clearly, so she didn’t mention it.
However, this already surprised the elderly couple greatly. They couldn’t believe their eyes as they looked at the petite little girl, but their daughter wasn’t someone who spoke without reason. Whatever she said must be true.
The little girl was truly adorable, with a delicate and lovely appearance. Even without hair on her head, it didn’t diminish her cuteness in the slightest. Instead, it added a touch of innocence to her, her eyes curved and clear, so captivating that it melted one’s heart.
Grandma Wen immediately took a liking to her and stepped aside, saying, “Come in quickly.”
“Thank you, Grandma,” Zhouzhou said, tilting her head, but she didn’t immediately go in. Instead, she turned around and lifted the wheelchair over the threshold before walking inside.
This scene once again widened the eyes of Grandma Wen and Grandpa Wen.
Qin Feng was quite slender, but the wheelchair was heavy. Together, they weighed dozens of pounds, yet she effortlessly carried it in?

Seeing their expressions, Wen Yao smiled and explained, “Zhouzhou is strong.”
“Oh, I see,” Grandma Wen nodded absentmindedly, looking at Zhouzhou’s little arms and legs, thinking that it was indeed not easy to tell.
They didn’t dwell on this matter. Grandma Wen brought out snacks and fruits from the house, letting the two children eat, her eyes full of affection as she watched Zhouzhou.
Their gaze swept over Qin Feng, and Grandma Wen asked again, “Little Feng, are your legs completely healed?”
She saw him still sitting in the wheelchair.
But even if he could stand for a while, it was already excellent.
They had experienced too much disappointment before, so they didn’t dare to have too high of hopes.
“Yes,” Zhouzhou answered the question. She held a walnut in her hand, gently squeezed it, and when she opened her palm, the intact kernel remained.
The little girl first shared some with them before putting one in her own mouth. She continued, “Brother Seven is learning to walk now. Once he learns, it will be fine.”
Upon hearing this, Grandma Wen became excited. “Really?”
Zhouzhou nodded solemnly. “Really, monks don’t lie.”
With that statement, the two of them were stunned once again. She was a monk?
Wen Yao smiled and explained, “Zhouzhou used to live in the mountains and was a monk.”
So that was the case. It suddenly dawned on them as they looked at her bald head.
Thinking that their little grandson would be completely healed and that they had this adorable little girl with them, Grandma Wen was overjoyed. “Have you eaten? Let me make you something delicious.”
Wen Yao stopped her and held her back. “Mom, no rush. We came here because we have something to ask Dad.”
Grandpa Wen had been sitting quietly beside them, not saying a word. When he heard this, he finally spoke up, “Something to ask me?”
“Yes… ” Wen Yao took out the key to the art studio and explained again, leaving out the part about Zhouzhou meeting Grandma Cui. She only mentioned that Zhouzhou had helped Cui Rong, and as a thank you, she was given the art studio.
Upon hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed across Grandpa Wen’s previously serious face. “Are those paintings all by Cui Rong?”
Wen Yao knew that he loved Cui Rong’s paintings the most and nodded. “Yes.”
“Cui Shu has already given all those paintings to Zhouzhou and left her in charge. Zhouzhou wants to sell them now. Dad, do you know anyone who might be interested in buying?” Wen Yao asked.
“Well, me,” Grandpa Wen blurted out, then realized his own financial situation and added sheepishly, “I was just saying it casually. Don’t worry, I do know some people who might be interested. Someone even asked me about it yesterday.”
He did genuinely want to buy them, but the Wen family was just an ordinary family. He used to be a university professor and now retired with a pension. The treatment was relatively good compared to others, but buying Cui Rong’s paintings would bankrupt him even if he gave up everything.
As he thought about it, he felt a tinge of regret, but he didn’t want his daughter, who had married into a wealthy family, to help him with the money. He had refused when she wanted to pay for Qin Ze’s marriage with her own money. It wasn’t that he looked down on Qin Ze; the child was still good. But the Qin family was too high in status, and he was afraid his daughter would suffer if she married into it.
Fortunately, the Qin family was decent, but there were still some rumors outside. They said she had married into a wealthy family and would soar to new heights.
People even said all sorts of unpleasant things about them, like how when one person rises, the whole family ascends. It was grating to hear.
The elderly couple didn’t want their daughter to suffer, so they hadn’t bothered them all these years, living contentedly in their old house surrounded by familiar neighbors.
Cui Rong’s paintings were expensive, costing millions for each piece. He couldn’t afford it, so it was even more impossible for him to ask for it.
However, he didn’t expect Zhouzhou to directly say, “If Grandpa likes them, then give them to Grandpa.”
“Thank you, Zhouzhou, but no need. They’re too expensive,” Grandpa Wen politely declined.
Zhouzhou nonchalantly waved her little hand. “It’s okay. I got them for free anyway, and if I sell them, I’ll donate the money. It doesn’t matter how much they sell for. If Grandpa likes them, just take them.”
She truly didn’t mind giving them to him.
Grandpa Wen still didn’t want to accept, but Zhouzhou insisted persistently. Eventually, Wen Yao compromised and spoke up, “Then let’s do this, Dad. Pick one from inside.”
The little girl was straightforward and sincere. There was no point in arguing back and forth. Wen Yao decided that she would buy a gift for the little girl later to express her gratitude.
The truth was, Grandpa Wen really liked Cui Rong’s paintings. After thinking it over, he said, “I can’t take advantage of the little girl for free. In that case, I’ll also give Zhouzhou a gift.”
