Chapter 71: Finding Evidence
Grandma Qin quickly made a phone call and didn’t mention who she called. Zhouzhou didn’t ask either. Soon, they all headed towards Mingyuan.
When they arrived at the company’s entrance, Zhouzhou discreetly opened a slit in the Soul-Nurturing Talisman for Lu Xiang to take a look inside.
Tall buildings, a prominent logo that shone brightly, and a sleek, high-tech appearance—it was exactly like what Lu Xiang had imagined the company to be. As he looked at it, his eyes turned slightly red.
This should have been his.
Thinking about this, the resentment in him grew stronger.
Zhouzhou comfortingly touched a few strands of hair on his head and said, “Don’t worry, what’s meant to be yours will be yours.”
“Okay!” Being comforted by a child, Lu Xiang blushed and wiped his eyes in embarrassment. Then, he became determined. He wouldn’t let Yang Pengcheng get away with it!
After soothing him, Zhouzhou looked up at Sun Xin.
Understanding her intention, Sun Xin walked up to the receptionist and said, “Hello, I’m here to deliver a painting to Mr. Yang.”
The receptionist saw the painting in his hand and didn’t suspect anything. It happened that Yang Pengcheng had previously ordered a painting from her, so the receptionist called Yang Pengcheng and allowed Sun Xin to enter. However, upon seeing the group of people behind him, she stopped them and asked, “And who are these people?”
Grandpa Qin glanced at her and calmly said, “I am Qin Qiankun.”
The former chairman of the Qin Coporation!
The receptionist was startled and immediately lowered her head, respectfully saying, “Please, CEO Qin.”
Saying that, she took the initiative to guide him into the elevator, pressed the floor button for him, and brought him to the meeting room on the upper floor. She apologized, “Mr. Yang is still in a meeting. Please wait a moment, I will have him come to see you as soon as the meeting is over.”
“Okay.” Grandpa Qin casually nodded, showing no expression on his face, making it difficult for others to gauge his thoughts. The receptionist had no choice but to leave after serving tea.
At this moment, Zhouzhou’s bag moved discreetly. Lu Xiang whispered, “Little Heaven Master, can I go in first and scare him?”
“You can,” Zhouzhou didn’t stop him, “but remember, you must not harm him. Otherwise, your own soul will be scattered.”
“Okay, I got it.”
Seeing that he was relatively stable, Zhouzhou released him.
The receptionist had mentioned earlier that Yang Pengcheng was still in a meeting, so it didn’t take much effort for Lu Xiang to find the meeting room. Listening to the familiar voices inside, he gritted his teeth, recalling Zhouzhou’s words, and tried his best to restrain his anger as he entered.
Looking at Yang Pengcheng’s arrogant appearance, he sneered.
His gaze fell on the large screen, and his eyes flickered with excitement.
He confidently sat down in front of the computer, tapped on the keyboard a few times, smirked, and leisurely crossed his legs, waiting for the show to begin.
Yang Pengcheng said, “Look at what you guys are making. We’re a large-scale online game, and what are you doing? Kindergarten games? Look at what I’ve made. If you can’t do better in the future, all of you can get lost!”
As he spoke, he opened the program that he had just hired someone to create. However, as soon as he opened it, a colorful mess popped up.
“What I’ve made…” Yang Pengcheng’s voice abruptly stopped, disbelief written all over his face as he looked at what appeared on the screen. What was going on?
He clicked a few times, but the computer wouldn’t exit. As he listened to the cheerful nursery rhyme playing in his ears, he grew anxious and could only force shutdown the computer.
Seeing the employees below, who were lowering their heads and suppressing their laughter, his anger surged. Unable to maintain his composure, he sternly said, “Everyone, leave and redo it!”
“Yes.”
The employees left one after another, and once they were outside, they couldn’t help but mock, “Isn’t his own creation even more childish?”

“Who said it wasn’t? Let’s go, let’s go. Enough talk; after all, he called himself the boss.”
It was strange indeed. Since Optimus’s release, Yang Pengcheng hadn’t produced any decent games. Sometimes, they even doubted if he was the one who made them.
In the office, even though he couldn’t hear their conversation, Yang Pengcheng was still very angry. After a moment, he adjusted his tie, all out of envy.
Regardless, Optimus is now his, and Mingyuan is also his.
The secretary knocked on the door and walked in, exchanging a few words with him.
Yang Pengcheng exclaimed in surprise, “CEO Qin is here?”
Hadn’t he retired many years ago? Why would he come to see him? Could it be that he’s interested in Mingyuan? The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. A surge of excitement flashed across Yang Pengcheng’s face, and he quickly walked out.
Seeing his expression, Lu Xiang knew exactly what he was thinking. He clicked his tongue in disdain, thinking that everyone was blind like him, believing in such a heartless and untrustworthy person. Dream on!
He snorted lightly and happened to pass by Yang Pengcheng’s office. After a moment of thought, he floated in.
The room was tidied up every day by a secretary, everything neat and organized. Lu Xiang made a disgusted sound under his breath, full of contempt.
There was even a photo of him on the desk. Lu Xiang curled his lips in displeasure and disdainfully tossed it to the ground, causing the frame to shatter with a sound. Only then did he feel relieved.
About to leave, he suddenly noticed something peeking out from under the photo. His footsteps paused, and curiously, he picked it up.
It was something that looked like a medicine packet, thin, with some powdered substance inside. He sniffed it under his nose and recognized the familiar scent. Then, he looked at the photo again. It was hidden so discreetly; there must be something fishy about it.
Thinking so, he wrapped the medicine packet and kept it.
In the reception room, Zhouzhou swung her little short legs leisurely. On the left, she ate fruits fed by Grandma Qin, and on the right, she drank water poured by Grandpa Qin. Life was so comfortable.
When Lu Xiang entered, Zhouzhou opened her bag and let him in.
But Lu Xiang whispered something in her ear and handed her something before entering.
Zhouzhou held the thing he handed over and took a sniff. Her expression also turned solemn.
It was indeed him!
Coincidentally, Yang Pengcheng walked in at this moment. Seeing Zhouzhou sitting next to Grandma and Grandpa Qin like a star among the crowd, his eyes flickered with curiosity. He glanced at Zhouzhou and then shifted his gaze to Grandpa Qin. A smile immediately appeared on his face as he approached eagerly, saying, “CEO Qin, why have you come?”
Grandpa Qin glanced at him and then focused his gaze back on Zhouzhou. He used a tissue to wipe the corner of her mouth.
Yang Pengcheng’s hand was left hanging in the air, feeling quite awkward.
He awkwardly retracted his hand, and with a sinking feeling in his heart from observing Yang Pengcheng’s attitude, it seemed he wasn’t here to invest in Mingyuan. Then, why was he here? He remembered that he had no connection with the Qin family.
Seeing the situation, Sun Xin spoke up, “Mr. Yang, here. CEO Qin and his family are just accompanying me. I came to deliver a painting to you.”
Seeing him, Yang Pengcheng’s smile visibly diminished. But because Grandpa Qin was present, he didn’t dare to be too cold. He spoke in a flat tone, “Oh, it’s Mr. Sun. I heard you brought a painting for me. Let me see.”
Sun Xin handed the painting to him with a meaningful look and said, “Mr. Yang will definitely like it.”
“Is that so?” Yang Pengcheng’s enthusiasm waned. After he opened the wrapping paper on top, he saw the content inside, and his face instantly changed.
“What does this mean, Mr. Sun?”
Inside the painting was actually a black and white portrait of him, conveying a heavy sense of grief. It was clearly a memorial portrait!
