Chapter 712: Love-Struck Mind
“Principal Chang!”
Pang Yan looked at him excitedly, but as soon as she called out, tears streamed down her face.
Seeing this, Principal Chang hurried forward to help her up, but his hand passed right through her arm.
It suddenly dawned on him that she was now a spirit. Seeing her in this state, he became frantic. “Pang Yan, what has happened to you?”
Pang Yan was his former student, it had been over ten years since she graduated from elementary school.
She had been exceptionally diligent during her school days, and even after graduation, she often came back to visit him.
However, she hadn’t visited in the past two years since her marriage. In fact, before her marriage, she had come to see him and even sent invited him to her wedding after she got engaged.
But after he saw her fiance, he advised them not to be together. One reason was that she would be marrying far away, and if she ended up alone in a distant place, vulnerable to mistreatment, what would she do?
Another reason was that the boy demanded she become a full-time housewife after marriage.
Her family conditions were not good, and it was not easy for her to get into college. Yet, just for a man, she was willing to abandon everything and stay at home to take care of his family.
He had strongly disagreed at the time, and they had a significant disagreement. After that, there was a rift between them.
Pang Yan never came to see him again, and he stubbornly refused to message her. He thought at most their marriage would be unhappy and end poorly, but he never expected to see her like this when they met again!
Principal Chang was both angry and anxious. “Pang Yan, what is going on? What happened?”
Upon hearing his words, Pang Yan cried even louder, her eyes filled with regret and remorse.
Zhouzhou waited for a while but couldn’t wait any longer. She leaned over and asked, “Sister, please tell us quickly. After you finish, I have to go back to class.”
School hadn’t ended yet.
Upon hearing this, Pang Yan choked up, and suddenly found it hard to continue crying. She turned to look at Zhouzhou, her eyes reddening.
There was a time when she had put all her efforts into her studies. She had once been a prominent figure on the school’s honor roll. Unfortunately, it all came to naught in the end.
Under Principal Chang’s eager gaze, she finally managed to speak about what had happened to her.
As she recalled it, she felt a burning hatred, and her words seemed to squeeze out through clenched teeth.
“I got married to Huang Wu right after graduation. I didn’t go out to work, his family couldn’t afford to buy a house, so I ended up living with his parents. His father was okay, quiet, but his mother was sharp-tongued and critical, always finding fault. Huang Wu always sided with his mother, saying she worked hard. What about me? Am I not working hard?” Her emotions became more and more intense as she spoke.
Principal Chang looked at her, feeling both heartache and disappointment. He had warned her about this situation long ago, but she hadn’t listened at all.
Pang Yan naturally remembered this, feeling ashamed as she turned her head away, unable to face him.
“And then?” Zhouzhou, unaffected, continued to crack melon seeds, her mind focused on the gossip.
“And then.” Pang Yan’s tone suddenly became more resentful. “Then his mother became more and more unreasonable. From the moment we got married, she kept pressuring me to have a child. And for some reason, I just couldn’t conceive. She kept berating me, saying I was like a chicken that couldn’t lay eggs.”
Principal Chang furrowed his brows at these harsh words but remained silent, urging her to continue.
“A few months ago, she suddenly stopped pressuring me. She came home in a good mood every day, often bringing food with her. At first, I thought she was giving it to Huang Wu, but then I realized she was going in the wrong direction. I followed her secretly and discovered that Huang Wu had actually had a child with another woman!”
Wow, that’s shocking.
Zhouzhou’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Qin Feng furrowed his brows slightly, stepping forward to cover Zhouzhou’s ears, not wanting her to hear such messy affairs.

With her ears blocked, Zhouzhou looked up at Qin Feng, blinked her eyes, and shook her head, freeing herself from his grasp.
“What happened next?” She asked curiously.
Seeing Zhouzhou’s keen interest in gossip, Qin Feng couldn’t help but shake his head in resignation, looking at Pang Yan with a somewhat cold gaze.
In his opinion, she brought this upon herself. She had placed too much importance on that man and completely lost herself. Encountering such a situation, she must be devastated.
Sure enough, the next moment, Pang Yan said, “I was furious. I confronted them, and at first, Huang Wu tried to appease me. But later, he just came clean and said that was his child. Since I couldn’t give birth, what was wrong with him finding someone else to have a child with?”
“They all bullied me. Unable to argue with them, I suggested divorce, but they wanted me to leave with nothing.”
“How could I agree? I had put so much into this family over the years. Why should I leave with nothing?”
“I refused, so they pushed me downstairs, claiming I had committed suicide.”
“There were no surveillance cameras in that old neighborhood, and they pretended to be devastated. They always badmouthed me outside, and the neighbors believed their lies. And so, I died like that.”
“While Huang Wu and that woman moved into my house with their child! How dare they! I had sacrificed so much for them!” She hysterically accused.
Zhouzhou felt her ears ringing and quickly took Qin Feng’s hand, pressing it against her ears once again.
She frowned at Pang Yan, tilting her head. “Silly, aren’t you?”
Listening to her, I knew this family wasn’t reliable, why did she still marry into it? And now, the child had been born, and she only just found out. It’s clear she’s not very bright.
Chang Beibei crunched on melon seeds, nodding in agreement. “Love-struck mind.”
She had heard of such people many times before, and they never ended up well.
Principal Chang looked at her silently, sighing and shaking his head.
“So, do you understand what I told you back then?” He asked.
Hearing this, Pang Yan nodded heavily, full of regret. Unfortunately, time couldn’t be turned back, it was already too late.
She covered her face and cried, “I’m sorry, Principal Chang, I shouldn’t have ignored your advice. I was so foolish!”
Seeing her like this, Principal Chang shook his head. “Stop crying. Since things have come to this, let’s focus on resolving the matter first.”
Upon hearing this, Pang Yan was stunned for a moment, subconsciously asking, “What matter?”
Hearing this, Principal Chang couldn’t help but glare at her. What had been going through her mind these past few years? Did she only remember love and romance?
“Of course, it’s about catching the bad guys,” Zhouzhou answered promptly.
She shook her head again, sighing. How could she not even know about this?
Principal Chang glanced at Pang Yan, who couldn’t lift her head. Then, Zhouzhou dialed Qin Xu’s number on her phone watch.
When the call connected, she quickly said, “Hey, Second Uncle, there are bad guys, money!”
