Chapter 731: Ye Lingfeng in Danger
Suddenly, the certainty was gone.
The director hesitated when he heard this. On the other side, Li Yuanming also heard the conversation and immediately exploded, “What do you mean by that! What’s wrong with learning from me? Aren’t you my disciple?”
His voice was so loud that Zhouzhou almost jumped, feeling like her ears were about to be deafened. She frowned and moved her smartwatch away from her ear, muttering softly, “But you don’t know how to treat illnesses.”
“But I can teach!” Li Yuanming said self-righteously.
In the past, he had felt inferior because he only understood the theory and couldn’t practice it. But now, he had figured it out. Knowing something only benefits one person, but teaching can benefit thousands!
His disciples could teach their disciples, and then those disciples could teach others. Knowledge and skills could spread quickly, benefiting society. That’s not something just one person could achieve!
Thinking this way, he felt he was much better than Zhouzhou. After all, he was the master.
Hearing this, Zhouzhou suddenly understood. Even the grandmaster said, “To be fair, he does have a knack for teaching his disciples.”
Just look at his other disciples. Not one of them was useless. Even the group of mystics Zhouzhou sent to the mountain for training had since come down to start their own journeys. Each of them had transformed significantly, nothing like how they were before.
Zhouzhou nodded in agreement and turned to the director, saying, “Then let my master teach you all.”
The director, still a bit puzzled and unsure of what was going on, didn’t mind. It didn’t matter who taught them as long as they could learn. So, he nodded.
Zhouzhou quickly pulled out a business card and handed it to him. “Just go to Sanqing Temple and find my master.”
After that, she hopped into Old Li’s hospital room, left a prescription for him, and then went home. As soon as she got home, she threw herself onto the bed, snoring softly as she fell asleep.
Grandma Qin walked into the room and, seeing her like that, chuckled and shook her head. “This little girl, so messy. She didn’t even wash up before going to bed.”
Carrying her chubby granddaughter to the bathroom, she gave her a wash. Zhouzhou, half-awake, opened her eyes, saw her grandma, and nestled into her arms, smacking her lips as she fell back asleep.
After giving her a bath and drying her off, Grandma Qin looked at the little girl, sleeping like a tiny piglet, and pinched her nose. “Little stinky bundle.”
“Not stinky,” Zhouzhou mumbled, her ears twitching. Unhappy, she snuggled deeper into her grandma’s arms and pouted, “I smell good.”
Her little mouth quivered, and she seemed on the verge of tears, as if she’d cry if her grandma called her stinky again.
“Alright, alright, you smell good,” Grandma Qin quickly said, playing along.
Zhouzhou was finally satisfied, and with a soft snore, she drifted back to sleep. So much for being able to take criticism!
But Grandma Qin wisely kept that thought to herself. She didn’t want to end up like Xie Ziyue, who had lost his beloved little junior sister due to his sharp tongue. After tucking her in, Grandma Qin watched Zhouzhou sleep for a bit before leaving the room.
It was getting colder, and the heating in the house had been turned on. Spotting Zheng Yu still sitting in the living room, Grandma Qin walked over curiously, “Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Seeing her, Zheng Yu politely greeted her, “I’ll go to bed soon.”
Grandma Qin nodded, then glanced at his computer screen. There were many red and blue dots on it, with far more blue dots than red ones, and the blue dots were slowly surrounding the red ones.
“What’s this?” Grandma Qin asked, puzzled.
“Nothing.” Zheng Yu quickly closed the laptop, trying to act calm. “Just a new game I’m working on.”
Sensing something off about his reaction, Grandma Qin didn’t press further and simply nodded before heading to bed.
After watching her go, Zheng Yu grabbed his phone and headed out to the Ye family’s estate. He quickly opened his laptop, his face tense, fingers flying across the keyboard. The Bluetooth earpiece in his ear flashed ominously with red light.
“Boss, at twelve o’clock, there’s someone. Be careful.”
“Hmm,” a low voice responded.

At that moment, in the most dangerous no-man’s land, Ye Lingfeng calmly pulled the trigger, and a figure collapsed.
Zheng Yu, however, couldn’t remain calm. He snapped in frustration, “What the hell is going on? Weren’t we told Jin Biao’s crew only had around a hundred men? There’s got to be close to a thousand by now!”
As he watched the blue dots on his screen continue to increase, he grew more anxious. The blue dots represented the drug dealers, while the red dots were Ye Lingfeng’s group.
At the moment, there were only five red dots: Ye Lingfeng, Wan Leng, Chen Tuo, Lu Ye, and Wolf King. But Chen Tuo had already been shot and was lying on the ground, fighting to stay conscious.
“Boss,” Chen Tuo said weakly, “You guys should leave. Don’t worry about me.”
They hadn’t expected Jin Biao’s men to suddenly increase in numbers, and the poor signal in the area had delayed the information reaching them. By the time they realized what was happening, it was too late.
Even though Ye Lingfeng was skilled, he couldn’t possibly take on so many people alone.
“Shut up,” Ye Lingfeng said coolly. “If I leave you here, how will I explain it to Zhouzhou? You’re her little brother, and we’re family. None of us are getting left behind.”
Thinking of Zhouzhou, Chen Tuo let out a bitter laugh. “I’m not even sure if we’ll survive to see her again.”
“Quit talking nonsense,” Ye Lingfeng said confidently. “Even if you bite the dust, you’ll still see Zhouzhou. Just make sure you tell her where you’ve stashed your savings when we get back. She’ll remember you for that.”
Chen Tuo groaned. “Boss, your jokes are always so peculiar.”
Ye Lingfeng chuckled softly. “Then let Zhouzhou tell you one when we get back.”
Taking advantage of the enemy’s reload time, Ye Lingfeng pulled a pill from his bag and stuffed it into Chen Tuo’s mouth. It was a Revitalizing Pill made by Zhouzhou. As long as he had even a single breath left, it could save him. But that was only if they could make it back in time.
As the footsteps of the enemies drew closer, Ye Lingfeng licked the blood from the corner of his mouth, his face covered in scratches.
Lu Ye slid to his side, standing shoulder to shoulder with him. In a low voice, he asked, “What’s the plan? We’re running out of bullets.”
Even though they had brought ammunition, they couldn’t carry a thousand rounds with them. Jin Biao had caught them completely off guard this time.
Wiping the blood off his face, Ye Lingfeng scanned the surroundings and spotted something. Without hesitation, he grabbed Chen Tuo and said, “Move.”
He led them just a short distance away to a corner–a dead end.
Lu Ye frowned deeply. “What are you doing? Are you planning for us to die here?”
Ye Lingfeng gave him a look, signaling him to stay quiet.
Then, he suddenly pulled out a few talismans, handed one to each person, and whispered, “Keep quiet.”
Even Wolf King got one. Smelling the familiar scent of Zhouzhou on it, it didn’t refuse.
Lu Ye quickly understood the plan and stopped talking. As the footsteps drew nearer, everyone instinctively held their breath…
