Chapter 732: Injured
“Where are they?”
Jin Biao glanced around the empty space, his brow furrowing.
The others looked at each other, puzzled. “That’s impossible, they were just here! How could they disappear so suddenly? They couldn’t have turned invisible, could they?”
Before anyone could react, Jin Biao smacked the speaker on the head.
With his body covered in tattoos and a long scar on his face, his eyes were filled with viciousness. “Invisible?! Stop talking nonsense and start searching for them!”
His gaze swept the surroundings, murderous intent clear in his eyes. “Ye Lingfeng, you won’t escape. I swear I’ll kill you today!”
Little did he know that the person he wanted to kill was standing right in front of him, completely invisible.
Soon after, they began to search the area.
As for the spot where Ye Lingfeng and his group were hiding, they barely spared it a glance before moving on.
Watching them leave, Ye Lingfeng finally exhaled in relief. He turned to Chen Tuo, “Can you still hold on?”
Chen Tuo nodded. “I’m not dead yet.”
He had to admit, Zhouzhou’s pill worked wonders. He felt his strength returning and figured he could easily take down a few more drug dealers.
Hearing that, Ye Lingfeng nodded and glanced at Wan Leng and Lu Ye. Pulling out a dagger, he commanded, “Let’s go.”
With the invisibility talismans they had, it would be a waste not to kill a few more of their enemies.
“You stay here,” Ye Lingfeng told Wolf King. “You’re too big, and it’s hard to move stealthily. Stay behind and take care of Chen Tuo.”
Though the invisibility talisman worked, it wasn’t all-powerful. Their footsteps could still give them away. If the enemy caught wind of their presence and sprayed bullets indiscriminately, they could still be hit.
Wolf King grumbled, clearly dissatisfied. It wanted to fight too!
Lu Ye knelt beside Wolf King and whispered in its ear in a low tone.
Wolf King immediately calmed down, sat next to Chen Tuo, and wagged its tail.
After everything was settled, the group quickly moved out, ghost-like shadows in the dark. They eliminated several stragglers, grabbing bullets from their guns as they went.
Ye Lingfeng switched magazines and glanced at Lu Ye. “What did you say to Wolf King earlier?”
“Nothing important,” Lu Ye mumbled, unwilling to elaborate.
There was no way he could admit he had promised Wolf King that if it behaved, Zhouzhou would play with it and praise its bravery when they got home.
If Ye Lingfeng, the doting father, found out Lu Ye had used Zhouzhou to bribe Wolf King, he’d probably get a good beating.
Ye Lingfeng narrowed his eyes, suspicious, but now wasn’t the time to dig deeper. With the bullets gathered, he motioned to the group. “Let’s move.”
With the talismans concealing them, the three of them moved like shadows, silently taking down half of the enemy force.
By the time Jin Biao realized something was wrong, the surrounding area was deathly silent, and the air reeked of blood.
“What the hell is going on?” Jin Biao growled, his brow furrowing as he gave a signal to a few men. They nodded and split up, moving in different directions to investigate.
But as time passed, none of them returned.
Instead, Ye Lingfeng, Wan Leng, and Lu Ye emerged, converging from different directions.

Looking towards Jin Biao, Ye Lingfeng smirked coldly.
That scumbag, no matter how many people he had, they were no match for Zhouzhou.
Sensing something was off, Jin Biao grabbed one of his men and used him as a human shield. A gunshot rang out, and the man in front of him dropped dead, a bullet embedded in his head.
Jin Biao’s hand shot out, pointing towards Wan Leng’s position. “Over there!”
Bullets sprayed towards Wan Leng’s direction, and Ye Lingfeng and Lu Ye quickly returned fire.
“They’re also here!”
“And here!” Jin Biao screamed hysterically, frantically searching for their location, but he saw nothing. He cursed under his breath. “What the hell is going on?! Where are they?”
It wasn’t just him who was confused–his men were equally terrified. No matter how hard they searched, they couldn’t find a trace of their enemies.
Fear began to grip their hearts as more and more men fell, but not a single one of their assailants could be found.
Panic-stricken, Jin Biao ordered his men to form a human shield around him as they slowly moved in one direction.
Ye Lingfeng frowned and quickly climbed a tree. Just as he reached the top, a bullet hit his shoulder with a loud “thud.”
He clenched his teeth, making no sound, and steadied his aim towards Jin Biao.
Jin Biao gritted his teeth, knowing that although he couldn’t see them, they were close. If he was going to die, he would take them with him. His eyes gleamed with madness as he reached for the detonator.
But just before he could press it, a bullet pierced his forehead, and he dropped dead instantly.
Lu Ye and Wan Leng exchanged glances and immediately opened fire on the remaining enemies.
Gunfire filled the air.
A minute later, surrounded by bodies, Ye Lingfeng jumped down from the tree, clutching his shoulder in pain.
Lu Ye rushed to support him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. It’s not fatal,” Ye Lingfeng gritted out, his face pale. “Let’s go.”
Lu Ye nodded, knowing they needed to get both him and Chen Tuo treated as soon as possible.
They found Chen Tuo unconscious. Wan Leng quickly hoisted him over his shoulder, and they made their way to safety.
Soon, the sound of a helicopter roared overhead.
Back at the Qin household, Zhouzhou woke up with a start, drenched in sweat. She quickly jumped out of bed, not even bothering to put on her shoes, and raced out of the room.
She flung open Zheng Yu’s door with a loud “bang,” but he wasn’t there. Glancing out the window towards the Ye family’s house, she saw a light still on.
Without hesitation, she opened her window, jumped outside, and quickly made her way to the Ye house.
Zheng Yu was in the midst of a crisis. The signal had cut out again, and the screen on his computer was frozen, showing the last image of the enemy moving towards the red dot representing Ye Lingfeng. The red dot had stopped moving, and Zheng Yu’s heart sank.
At that moment, the door burst open with a loud bang, startling him so much his heart nearly jumped out of his chest.
Turning around, he saw Zhouzhou, her hair wild and feet bare, standing in the doorway like a little ghost. Her face was pale, and her voice hoarse as she asked, “Brother, is Dad in trouble?”
