Chapter 740: Zhouzhou is Captured
Lu Ye frowned as he studied the man, but after a careful inspection, he confirmed there was nothing out of the ordinary. Relaxing a little, his eyelid twitched slightly as he glanced at Zhouzhou, who was still sitting safely where she had been. Only then did he feel reassured.
“Brother, what’s wrong?” Zhouzhou had just finished a fortune-telling session and collected payment. When she turned around and saw Lu Ye’s serious expression, it was as if something troubling had happened, which made her ask with concern.
Hearing her question, Lu Ye shook his head. “Nothing.”
Zhouzhou furrowed her little brows, clearly not believing him. His expression didn’t look like nothing was wrong–something was definitely going on, and she was certain it was serious. However, they all treated her like a child, always hiding things from her and refusing to tell her the truth.
With a pout, Zhouzhou huffed unhappily, “Fine. When something happens to me, I won’t tell you either.”
Drawing a clear line between adults and children, Zhouzhou’s little lips pouted so much they could hang an oil bottle. Lu Ye couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight, a faint smile creeping into his eyes. He reached out and gently ruffled her hair. “I’ll tell you when I’ve figured it out.”
He didn’t quite know how to explain it yet. If possible, he hoped she’d never have to know.
“Alright,” Zhouzhou sighed in resignation, shaking her head. There was no way to force it out of him if he didn’t want to say. She simply shifted her attention back to the task at hand, resuming her cheerful calls for fortune-telling customers.
After all, she was now the famous Master Fugui!
Just as they were about to close up the stall, a person rushed over, anxiously scanning the area as if in search of something. The moment he spotted Zhouzhou, his eyes lit up, and he hurried toward her, bowing respectfully.
“Are you Master Fugui?” he asked, his voice filled with urgency.
Someone looking for her?
Zhouzhou puffed up her tiny belly, feeling as though she’d grown to three meters tall. Her chubby little hands were clasped behind her back, and she tried to put on the air of a worldly expert, though her soft, babyish voice didn’t exactly add to her sense of authority.
“Yes, that’s me. Do you need something from me?” she asked, her tone milkily soft, lacking much intimidation.
“Yes, yes!” The man nodded vigorously. “I heard you’re very accurate with your fortune-telling. Could you come to my home and check the feng shui? Don’t worry about the money, I’ll definitely pay you.”
As he spoke, he pulled out a thick wad of cash, amounting to a full ten thousand yuan. Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up immediately, and she reached out her hand to take it.
Before she could grab the money, Qin Lie stepped forward and gently stopped her, blocking her action. His gaze fixed on the man, he asked in a calm, composed voice, “How did you find us?”
Qin Lie hadn’t missed the fact that the man had headed directly for Zhouzhou as if he already knew she was there.
Zhouzhou, peeking out from behind him, blinked her big eyes, confused. How else could he have found her? Obviously, word of her fame as Master Fugui had spread far and wide.
The man, who introduced himself as Wang Yan, quickly explained, “I heard there’s a very skilled master under the bridge named Ye Fugui, who happens to be a young girl. I didn’t know what else to do, so I came to see for myself.”
He sighed heavily, clearly troubled. “Ever since we moved into our new house, nothing has gone right. I lost my job, my wife was scammed, and on top of that, we keep having terrible nightmares at night.”
“I was told we might be cursed and should seek a master to resolve it. I heard Master Fugui is very accurate, so I came straight here.”
Ah, that made sense now! Zhouzhou thought, her little belly puffing up even more with pride. See, she knew her reputation as Master Fugui was nothing to scoff at!
Feeling even more proud, she tilted her chin up slightly, looking down at him as if from a great height. “Alright, I’ll come and take a look tomorrow,” Zhouzhou said with a beaming smile.
It was getting late, and she was starting to feel sleepy. Wang Yan glanced up at the sky, noticing the rising moon. He agreed it wasn’t the best time to drag her to his house now.
“Of course, of course! My wife and I will stay at a hotel tonight, and I’ll come pick you up in the morning. Could I, um, know where you’re staying…?” he asked hesitantly.
Zhouzhou didn’t reply immediately, instead turning to look up at Qin Lie. Her father had always told her never to give out their address to strangers.
Qin Lie glanced at Wang Yan and said calmly, “Leave your address, and we’ll drive over tomorrow ourselves.”
Wang Yan, clearly anxious, quickly agreed, nodding vigorously and providing the address before rushing off.
As Qin Lie looked down at Zhouzhou, he asked, “What do you see from this man’s face? Anything wrong?”

Zhouzhou scrunched up her little face, seriously nodding. This made both Qin Lie and Lu Ye tense up. However, the next second, Zhouzhou responded, “This uncle looks super unlucky, but that’s good! The more unlucky he is, the more business I have!”
Qin Lie: “…”
Lu Ye: “…”
So, that was the problem? Alright then.
They both found themselves a bit amused by her response. At least from Zhouzhou’s observation, Wang Yan wasn’t a bad person, so they relaxed. But Zhouzhou stared at them with suspicion in her eyes. “Dad, big brother, something’s off with you two.”
Both men stiffened a little, as if they’d been caught in the act.
“You can’t be like this,” she warned, “You’ll scare away the customers.”
She had already noticed a few people wanting to approach her for fortune-telling, but after seeing Qin Lie and Lu Ye standing nearby, they decided against it.
The two men, slightly ashamed: “…”
Neither of them had expected that they’d end up in a situation like this.
Qin Lie shifted his gaze, subtly avoiding Zhouzhou’s sharp look as he grabbed the “Ye Fugui” banner. “Let’s go home.”
“Yes, yes!” Zhouzhou didn’t dwell on it and enthusiastically nodded, bouncing along behind them.
The next morning, the three of them headed to Wang Yan’s house. When they arrived, Wang Yan was already waiting at the door. The anxious look on his face made it seem genuine, just a man down on his luck.
Zhouzhou hopped out of the car, holding her peach wood sword, curiously inspecting the surroundings. Suddenly, her gaze landed on a particular spot, and she pointed towards it.
“Uncle, is that your house?” she asked.
Wang Yan’s eyes widened in surprise. “How did you know?”
Before Zhouzhou could even respond, admiration filled his expression as he looked at her. “As expected of Master Fugui!”
Indeed!
Zhouzhou was almost floating from all the praise, but she didn’t forget the task at hand. She explained, “That part of the building has the strongest evil energy.”
“Let’s go check it out.”
“Okay,” Wang Yan agreed. Though he had some doubts earlier, after witnessing that small display, he fully believed in Zhouzhou’s abilities now. This little girl really knew her stuff when it came to fortune-telling.
Qin Lie and Lu Ye followed closely behind, their gazes alert as they scanned the surroundings.
Wang Yan’s house was visible from their current spot, but the entrance wasn’t on this side; they had to go around to reach it. The neighborhood itself was a maze of winding paths.
As they turned another corner, a cart suddenly rolled out from one of the side paths, stacked high with boxes, momentarily separating Zhouzhou from Qin Lie and Lu Ye.
But when the cart passed by and the path was clear, Zhouzhou had completely vanished from the spot where she had been standing!
