Chapter 751: Entering the Tiger’s Den
After listening to their plan, Zhouzhou nodded thoughtfully and added, “That bad guy has seen you before, Daddy. Does that mean you can’t show your real face in front of him?”
Ye Lingfeng nodded and pulled out a bag from under his feet. “I’ve already prepared for that.”
He had brought along some disguise tools. Right in front of Zhouzhou, he stuck a fake mustache onto his face, instantly transforming into a scruffy man.
Zhouzhou scrunched her face and leaned back, clearly not liking how her dad looked now.
Noticing his daughter’s aversion, Ye Lingfeng playfully leaned in, trying to give her a kiss, making Zhouzhou giggle as she pushed his big face away with her chubby hands. The two played happily for a while.
Watching them, Xi Mo couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy.
After a while, Xi Mo spoke up. “What about me?”
He couldn’t just walk in without some kind of disguise either.
“Hold on, Uncle.” Zhouzhou first pulled out a charm and handed it to Ye Lingfeng. “Daddy, this is a ‘Passerby Charm.’ Once you stick it on, no one will notice you.”
Ye Lingfeng took it without hesitation and stuck it to himself. When Xi Mo looked again, he found that Ye Lingfeng suddenly looked incredibly ordinary, almost unremarkable.
“Not bad,” Xi Mo nodded approvingly. This would definitely make things safer.
Just to be cautious, Zhouzhou handed Ye Lingfeng a few more invisibility talismans. “Use these when you need them,” she instructed.
Once Ye Lingfeng was sorted, Zhouzhou turned her attention to Xi Mo, tugging at Ye Lingfeng’s arm. “Daddy, make Uncle a disguise too!”
“No problem,” Ye Lingfeng smirked.
Seeing that smirk, Xi Mo immediately grew wary. He had a feeling something was up. His suspicions were confirmed when he looked into a mirror after Ye Lingfeng was done with him. His eye twitched in annoyance.
Ye Lingfeng had drawn a long scar across his face and thickened his eyebrows to the point that he looked like a butcher ready to slaughter pigs.
He glared at Ye Lingfeng, convinced he did this on purpose–probably worried Xi Mo might outshine him and steal Zhouzhou’s affection.
Sensing his thoughts, Ye Lingfeng shot him a glance and said matter-of-factly, “Don’t forget, your alias is based on the fifth-ranked assassin, and he has a scar.”
Fine. Mission first, Xi Mo decided to let it go and not argue.
Turning serious, Xi Mo focused on Zhouzhou. “Zhouzhou, be very careful. Don’t act until you hear my command.”
Ye Lingfeng added, “This is a crucial moment. You have to listen and not act on your own. Otherwise, you’ll be kicked out of the Fourth Bureau when we get back.”
“Got it.” Zhouzhou tried to make her face serious, though her chubby cheeks made it impossible to look stern.
Ye Lingfeng pinched her cheek and chuckled softly. With both him and the Ancestral Master around, if they couldn’t even protect Zhouzhou, they might as well give up and reincarnate.
Several hours later, the plane landed.
The airport wasn’t as clean or orderly as others they’d been to. As soon as they stepped out, they could feel eyes on them from all directions.
Ye Lingfeng had already disguised himself before getting off the plane. He watched Xi Mo and Zhouzhou from a distance, waiting about ten minutes before quietly taking another route.
Xi Mo carried Zhouzhou into a car. Before they got out, Zhouzhou pulled out a charm and stuck it to her forehead. The charm dissolved into a white light and entered her body. She then faked a wound on her chest, creating a false injury.
Once all was ready, she suddenly slumped over, her body going completely limp, as if all life had drained from her.
Had Xi Mo not seen it with his own eyes, he might have been genuinely shocked. He lifted Zhouzhou and stepped out of the car.
Harlo had arranged the meeting in a noisy street, filled with people of all colors and backgrounds. Xi Mo silently took in his surroundings, his attention focusing on a specific direction. Without giving any indication of alarm, he casually scanned the area and continued moving, as if he’d seen nothing.

Lighting a cigarette, he sent a message, his previously righteous aura dissipating as he adopted a thuggish demeanor. “Where are you?”
A reply came quickly, “I see you. Look to your nine o’clock.”
Xi Mo glanced in that direction, just as he had earlier, and spotted a man standing there–completely undisguised.
A triangular snake head peeked from beside him.
Who else could it be but Harlo?
How arrogant, Xi Mo thought, keeping his expression unreadable. He took the opportunity to adjust his cap, confirming that Ye Lingfeng had already arrived, before striding toward Harlo.
He carelessly dropped Zhouzhou at his feet and said, “Where’s the money?”
“Don’t worry, it’s all ready,” Harlo rasped, pointing to a nearby case, his venomous gaze sweeping over Xi Mo. The Burmese python hissed, flicking its tongue.
Xi Mo opened the case, checked the money inside, and nodded with satisfaction. “Then I’ll be going.”
“Not so fast. I haven’t inspected the goods yet,” Harlo hissed.
He approached Zhouzhou, grabbing her limp body and shaking it a bit, his one good eye fixed on her with a chilling intensity. “So, this is Ye Lingfeng’s daughter?”
“Tsk tsk, if no one had told me, I’d never have guessed he had a daughter.”
“That bastard took my eye. What do you think I should do to his daughter?”
With that, his hand moved toward Zhouzhou’s eye.
Xi Mo’s heart tightened, but he kept his voice steady. “Obviously, you should take both of Ye Lingfeng’s eyes.”
“You did hire me to kill him, didn’t you? I’ll take the job, but the price will be one hundred times higher than this.”
Harlo’s hand paused, and he laughed. “You’re right.”
“We’ll need her to lure Ye Lingfeng in, so I won’t touch her… yet.”
“But Ye Lingfeng? I’ll kill him myself.”
He sat down, casually placing Zhouzhou on his lap like a pet. His cold, rough fingers trailed across her neck, and after confirming there was no pulse, he nodded in satisfaction.
His eyes lingered on the wound on her chest, and he reached out to touch it.
Xi Mo suddenly spoke, irritation clear in his voice. “What? You don’t trust my abilities to kill him?”
Harlo let go of Zhouzhou and scoffed. “Even I couldn’t kill him, and you expect me to believe you can now?”
He waved Xi Mo away dismissively, “Get lost.”
Pretending to be angry, Xi Mo turned to leave, but Harlo suddenly called him back.
“Wait a second. You’re Five, aren’t you?”
Five–no name, just the simple alias of the fifth-ranked assassin.
Xi Mo felt a sinking feeling in his gut, but he didn’t show it. He impatiently turned around, “Who else would I be? Don’t you even know who accepted your job?”
“Oh, I know,” Harlo said, his hand tightening on Zhouzhou’s neck, his one good eye gleaming with malice. “What I don’t know is… which one of you is the real one.”
With that, he snapped his fingers, and from a nearby room, another man emerged, looking exactly like Xi Mo!
