Chapter 766: The Loose-Lipped Uncle
Zhouzhou: “…”
This uncle is fine in every way, except that he just can’t keep his mouth shut!
Xi Mo frowned, puzzled. “What second place?”
Seeing that Wei Fangyi was about to speak, Zhouzhou panicked and quickly tried to cover his mouth. But how could her little chubby hands cover Wei Fangyi’s big mouth?
Seeing the little girl so anxious, he didn’t make it harder for her and kept quiet, though he flashed Xi Mo a provocative grin. Ha, he thought Xi Mo was all high and mighty, but in the end, in his own niece’s heart, Xi Mo was only second place. The years of frustration from always being second to Xi Mo instantly faded.
Wei Fangyi had heard of Zhouzhou before. During a military exercise, he had been away on a mission, but those who participated had mentioned this little girl repeatedly, praising her abilities. Some even said she had outsmarted Xi Mo. When he heard that, Wei Fangyi had been eager to meet her, and now that he had, she certainly didn’t disappoint.
Xi Mo felt confused. He glanced at the little girl’s guilty expression and had a vague sense of what had happened. His mood soured. Hmph, she’s been caught red-handed acting sneaky, hasn’t she?
But seeing how Zhouzhou was practically ready to dig a hole and hide in it, he sighed, saying nothing more. “Hurry and treat the wounds. We need to move soon.”
“Alright, alright.” Zhouzhou thought he hadn’t noticed anything unusual, letting out a sigh of relief as she quickly got to work.
Where Xi Mo couldn’t see her, she flashed a fierce grin at Wei Fangyi, baring her little teeth.
Big Mouth Uncle!
She angrily waved her tiny fist at him, pretending to act tough as she approached to extract the bullet from his wound. However, when she got closer, her hand immediately softened.
Luckily, Liu Hanqiu had been a military doctor and always carried some basic first-aid tools. He had also prepared a set for Zhouzhou.
She had learned a few tricks from him and steadily gripped the bullet with the tweezers, quickly pulling it out.
Wei Fangyi’s face broke out in cold sweat, but he didn’t make a sound.
As Zhouzhou wrapped his wound, she said, “Big Mouth Uncle, you can shout. They can’t hear you outside.”
“I’m not going to shout; it doesn’t hurt.”
Wow, not only is he mouthy, but he’s stubborn too.
Zhouzhou glanced at him, shaking her head in disbelief.
How strange.
Forget it; it didn’t matter.
As she bandaged it, Xi Mo glanced over, and Wei Fangyi met his gaze. The two men exchanged a brief look of disdain before turning away.
What Wei Fangyi hadn’t mentioned was that with Xi Mo present, he would rather die than show any sign of pain! Not understanding the silent competition between the two men, Zhouzhou skillfully tied off the bandage with a neat little bow.
Noticing the bow, Wei Fangyi frowned and was about to undo it when Zhouzhou slapped his hand away, saying sternly, “Don’t mess with it.”
Xi Mo quickly pulled out his phone and snapped a photo. Wei Fangyi tried to stop him but was too late.
“Delete it.”
“Nope,” Xi Mo replied, pocketing his phone without further discussion. “Let’s go. It’ll be harder to leave once daylight hits.”
That shut Wei Fangyi up. He glanced back at his comrades, swallowing the rest of his words. He shot the little girl an annoyed look, suspecting she was getting back at him. Like her uncle, she seemed sweet but was full of mischief.
Zhouzhou was wrongly accused, though. She just really liked tying bows! After all, she was just an ordinary little girl who liked pretty things.
Everyone else held back their laughter. With Xi Mo’s arrival, they felt more at ease. The heavy tension from earlier had lifted. In their minds, as long as Xi Mo was here, they were sure to make it out safely.

Wei Fangyi noticed the change in his team’s morale. He glanced at Xi Mo, his lips pressed together, saying nothing. Truth be told, he shared their confidence. With Xi Mo leading the way, they soon managed to slip past their enemies and out of danger.
By the time they made it out, the sky had started to lighten. Xi Mo turned to Lu Shi, “You take them and head out first.”
In the Wealthy Group, Lu Shi had the weakest combat skills since his expertise lay in logistics and weapons manufacturing.
Knowing his limitations, Lu Shi didn’t argue. “Got it.”
Xi Mo then addressed Wei Fangyi. “Now that we’re here, I’m going back to deal with the rest of them.”
“Be careful,” Wei Fangyi nodded. “Remember, they have venomous snakes.”
“Understood,” Xi Mo nodded back before turning and heading back into the woods.
Zhouzhou immediately followed, her little legs moving quickly to keep up.
Seeing this, Wei Fangyi was taken aback. The most surprising part was that Xi Mo didn’t say a word about it. Wasn’t he supposed to be super protective of his niece? Wasn’t he worried she’d get hurt?
Reading his thoughts, Lu Shi said, “Our boss is very capable.”
After a moment’s thought, he added, “She’s not much weaker than Captain Xi.”
In fact, if you factored in her knowledge of formations and metaphysical techniques, Xi Mo might not even be her match.
Wei Fangyi was even more stunned. He watched Zhouzhou’s small figure disappear into the woods, a newfound interest lighting up in his eyes. When she got back, he’d definitely want to spar with her.
If Zhouzhou knew what he was thinking, she’d be even more thrilled–another chance to fight!
But right now, she had a battle ahead of her. Under Xi Mo’s command, the group split up and took down their targets one by one, eliminating the enemies. Anyone who fell behind was eliminated first.
When the enemy realized something was wrong, Xi Mo shouted, “Fire!”
Without hesitation, Skinny Monkey and the others opened fire. Zhouzhou quickly pulled out her mini gold pistol and took precise shots, each one hitting between the eyes. In no time, only the leader was left.
“Who’s there!” The man, hiding behind a tree, shouted in fear. As he did, he discreetly released a snake from his sleeve, his eyes gleaming with malice.
Zhouzhou, hiding behind another tree, suddenly noticed the snake slithering toward her. Its body arched, ready to strike.
“Zhouzhou, watch out!” Xi Mo’s eyes widened.
But Zhouzhou’s wrist flicked, and her dagger flew through the air, striking the snake right at its weak spot. With a “thunk,” the snake was pinned to the tree. Its tail twitched once before going limp, dead.
Zhouzhou smugly raised her chin. Hah, she had once tamed a giant python! What was this little elementary-school-level snake thinking, trying to show off in front of her? It wasn’t even in the same league!
