Chapter 769: Learning Mischief
The uncle and niece exchanged glances, and both broke into mischievous smiles.
It was one of those sneaky grins.
Zhouzhou pulled out an Invisibility Talisman and a Wall-Passing Talisman, slapped them on her forehead, and with a pat on Xi Mo’s shoulder, signaled for him to put her down. She then swaggered right through the wall.
Inside the room, the little dog opened its eyes, curiously watching Zhouzhou.
After a moment of thought, Zhouzhou took out a ball from her bag.
It was a gift from Skinny Pole, who also had a dog and had told her that dogs love to play with balls.
Sure enough, the moment the little dog saw the ball, its eyes lit up. It immediately jumped out of Wei Fangyi’s arms, wagging its tail as it ran toward her.
Zhouzhou scooped it up, patted its head, and fed it a small piece of jerky.
The dog happily devoured the treat, licking Zhouzhou’s hand in delight.
Zhouzhou grinned, glanced at the sleeping Wei Fangyi, and left with the dog in her arms.
She knew she could pull it off.
Xi Mo looked at the dog nestled in her arms, nodded in satisfaction, and then led Zhouzhou back to the room.
Having slept the entire day, Zhouzhou was now full of energy, holding the dog and unwilling to let go.
She loved the little dog so much!
Too bad Jinbao was so jealous that it wouldn’t let her keep one. She could only play with Skinny Pole’s dog from time to time.
But now that Jinbao wasn’t here, she could secretly play without worry.
Animals naturally liked kids, and with Zhouzhou’s innate aura, they were even more drawn to her.
You could tell just by looking at the animal crew she had at home.
Before long, the girl and the dog were happily playing together, and the dog completely forgot about its owner next door.
After a while, around two or three in the morning, Zhouzhou finally began to feel sleepy again.
She took the dog to bed, hugging it close.
The dog snuggled up to her and quickly fell asleep, not feeling the least bit uneasy in this new place.
The next morning, before Wei Fangyi even opened his eyes, his hand instinctively reached for his dog, but he found nothing.
His eyes flew open, and seeing no sign of the dog, he frowned and called, “Meatball?”
However, this time, the little dog that would normally rush to him didn’t make a sound.
Sensing something was wrong, Wei Fangyi quickly got out of bed, ready to investigate, but as soon as he stepped out, he saw Zhouzhou jogging with a happy little dog bouncing along beside her.
Xi Mo stood quietly nearby, watching.
Wei Fangyi’s face instantly darkened. He strode over and shouted, “Meatball, come here!”
But instead of obeying, the usually well-behaved dog barked at him, gave a brief greeting, and then trotted after Zhouzhou with its short legs.
It was a complete betrayal.

Wei Fangyi’s face grew even grimmer.
Suddenly, he recalled hearing voices last night but hadn’t been alarmed due to his injuries and the fact that he was on his own turf.
Who would have thought that Xi Mo, that scoundrel, would sneak in with his niece to steal his dog in the middle of the night!
Was this even something a human would do?
Seething with anger, his face turned as black as coal as he ground out, “Xi Mo, have you no shame?”
Xi Mo glanced at him calmly, completely unfazed. “What makes you say I have no shame?”
“You didn’t feed your dog enough, so it followed Zhouzhou for just one piece of jerky. Shouldn’t you be reflecting on yourself instead?”
He even had the nerve to shift the blame!
Wei Fangyi was on the verge of exploding. He never imagined Xi Mo could be this shameless.
All that talk about being upright–what a crock! This guy was rotten to the core!
And his little niece, who looked sweet and innocent, was just like her uncle.
No wonder they say nephews take after their uncles.
Turns out it’s true!
Standing off to the side, Wei Fangyi’s face was full of resentment, so much so that when Skinny Monkey and the others passed by, they sped up, feeling like he might pounce on them at any moment.
“Uncle, I’m done running!”
Zhouzhou ran over to Xi Mo, with Meatball screeching to a halt and plopping down on her feet, panting heavily.
Wei Fangyi, feeling sorry for his dog, was about to reach out and pick it up.
But Meatball turned its head and shuffled over to Zhouzhou’s other foot, putting as much distance between itself and Wei Fangyi as possible.
It gazed him as if he were a dog thief.
Wei Fangyi nearly coughed up blood.
This little ingrate!
Seeing this, Zhouzhou grinned and proudly declared, “Big Mouth Uncle, your dog is mine now!”
Hmph, that’ll teach him for ratting her out!
Wei Fangyi’s eye twitched as he rolled them in exasperation. “Go ahead, keep learning bad things from your uncle.”
“That’s nonsense,” Zhouzhou said, her little face serious. “My uncle is a great guy! I wouldn’t learn anything bad from him.”
Ha!
Wei Fangyi sneered.
What kind of “great guy” takes his niece to steal a dog in the middle of the night?
Ignoring him, Xi Mo patted Zhouzhou’s head and said, “Let’s eat breakfast, and then we’ll prepare for training.”
“Okay!” Zhouzhou responded, bouncing away with the dog in her arms.
The dog curled up in her embrace without sparing its sorrowful father a single glance.
Raising that dog was a waste of time.
Wei Fangyi sighed deeply before shooting Xi Mo a sinister look. “I never thought you weren’t just ‘Number Two’ but ‘Number Six’ too.”
Hearing the words “Number Two” again, Xi Mo adjusted his sunglasses and said indifferently, “You might want to stay up tonight; otherwise, you might wake up to find your bed gone.”
Wei Fangyi was stunned and let out a heavy snort.
Recalling Xi Mo’s earlier words, he got serious and said, “I’ll watch Zhouzhou’s training later.”
He was curious to see just how skilled she was, with so many people praising her.
This time, Xi Mo didn’t refuse. “Come whenever you like.”
Glancing at his watch, Xi Mo then addressed the others, “Pick up the pace! If you’re slower than yesterday, it’s five more laps.”
Without a word, Skinny Monkey took off running.
Xiang Chong arrived second, accompanying Zhouzhou to the dining hall.
After eating and playing with the dog for ten minutes, Zhouzhou headed to the training grounds.
“Uncle, are we doing the same thing as last time?” she asked curiously.
Xi Mo nodded. “Yes. Each stage has a different test, and once you can pass it without a scratch, we’ll move on to the next one.”
Upon hearing “without a scratch,” Zhouzhou immediately covered her Fortune Hair.
“Exactly, not even a single strand of Fortune Hair should get hurt!”
She couldn’t bear the pain of losing her Fortune Hair again.
Xi Mo sighed internally.
“Alright, go ahead and give it a try. The difficulty has been adjusted.”
Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up with excitement.
But she didn’t rush. Instead, she pulled a helmet out of her bag, carefully covering her Fortune Hair before nodding in satisfaction.
Now it was safe!
Seeing her getup, Xi Mo’s lips twitched.
He averted his gaze, unable to watch any longer.
Somebody, please take this little fortune-hoarder away!
