Chapter 817: Meeting the Qin Family
Ye Lingfeng was so jealous that his eyes turned red. Without saying a word, he turned and boarded the plane.

Zhouzhou watched his figure, blinking in confusion about his sudden change in mood. She turned to Xi Mo and asked, “Uncle, are you going back? The New Year is coming soon.”

Xi Mo shook his head. “I’m not going back. I have things to do.”

Well, he really is a busy person. Zhouzhou quickly set down her bags, and with her chubby little hands, she rummaged through her backpack, not quite sure what she was looking for.

Curious, Xi Mo watched as she soon pulled out a red envelope. “I knew you probably wouldn’t be going back, so I prepared this in advance.”

Xi Mo was a bit surprised. “Why are you giving me this?”

Zhouzhou looked at him in disbelief. “It’s New Year’s money! Uncle, don’t you know about this?”

Of course, he knew about New Year’s money, but wasn’t it supposed to be him giving it to her? Why was she giving it to him? He felt bewildered, realizing for the first time just how big the generation gap was between them.

Zhouzhou grinned widely at him and quickly picked up the bags on the ground, slinging them over her back. “Then I’m leaving now, Uncle!”

With that, she darted off. Time to go home and celebrate the New Year!

When she got on the plane, she saw Ye Lingfeng sitting in his seat with his arms crossed, eyes closed in what seemed like a meditation. He looked distinctly unhappy.

Remembering how he had shot at her, Zhouzhou pouted and felt a bit displeased as well. She marched to the back with her bags.

Noticing her movements, Ye Lingfeng furrowed his brow but didn’t say anything, turning his head to look out the window, his lips pressed into a thin line. Who needed to sit with her anyway? Skinny Monkey and the others were much better company!

At first, he thought he wouldn’t have the chance to talk to the boss anymore, but to his surprise, she didn’t choose to sit next to Ye Lingfeng. So, their opportunity had come!

With that thought, they eagerly approached Zhouzhou, helping her stow her luggage, and enthusiastically patted the seat next to them. “Boss, come sit here!”

Zhouzhou didn’t hesitate and immediately hopped over to sit in that spot.

Skinny Monkey quickly pulled out the snacks he had prepared. He had thought he wouldn’t get the chance to share them with the boss!

They were thankful to Ye Lingfeng for this opportunity! But it made them wonder what had happened between the father and daughter; it seemed they were genuinely upset with each other.

Usually, their relationship was good, but who knew it could be so tense!

As Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up at the sight of the snacks, she cheerfully exclaimed, “Thank you, Uncle Skinny Monkey!”

Skinny Monkey beamed back, “You’re welcome! If you want anything else, just let us know!”

“Mm-hmm!” Zhouzhou nodded, swinging her short legs happily. “I won’t be polite with you; you’re all my people!”

“Exactly!” Skinny Monkey nodded vigorously.

Cui Kun’s eyes also showed a hint of warmth.

Watching this, Ye Lingfeng felt his irritation grow stronger. Wen Jing shook his head helplessly.

What was going on? Zhouzhou was such a good little girl, but he insisted on quarreling with her. If Zhouzhou really ran off with someone else, he wouldn’t know where to cry!

He just wanted to make life difficult for himself.

Throughout the flight, the front and back of the plane felt like two different worlds. The front was cold and quiet, while the back was lively and cheerful.

Even Wen Jing couldn’t resist joining Zhouzhou to play at the back, leaving Ye Lingfeng alone in the front, a solitary figure.

By the time the plane landed, his face was darker than coal.

The Qin family had already received news that Zhouzhou was coming back and immediately set aside their work to come pick her up.

They stood outside, eagerly scanning the interior.

Soon, they spotted Ye Lingfeng. He was tall and handsome, so he stood out. But why wasn’t he holding or carrying Zhouzhou? Where was she?

They anxiously searched for her, but only saw two large bags swaying around.

Just as they were thinking this, Qin Lie suddenly bypassed them and walked toward the bags. He stopped there, and the others were puzzled.

Then they watched as he lifted one of the bags and, out of nowhere, a soft little girl was pulled from inside.

The Qin family: “???” How did she end up there?!

Qin Bei was stunned and couldn’t help but comment to Qin Nan, “I told you the bags wouldn’t grow legs! It turns out those short legs belonged to Zhouzhou. No wonder they’re so short!”

Before he could finish speaking, several gazes turned to him.

Qin Ren adjusted his glasses, a glint of cold light in his eyes.

At this, Qin Bei stiffened, realizing he had misspoken!

“Grandma!” Zhouzhou waved enthusiastically at Grandma Qin.

Grandma Qin snapped back to reality, beaming as she hurried to meet her. “My Zhouzhou! I missed you so much! I spotted you as soon as you got here! If your father hadn’t been faster, I would have been the one to carry you!”

Hearing that, Qin Lie shot her a calm glance, not calling her out for her earlier words.

Zhouzhou took her words at face value, thrilled and reaching out her chubby little hands without hesitation. “Grandma, hug!”

Grandma Qin was overjoyed and stretched her arms to take Zhouzhou, exclaiming, “Look at my big, chubby granddaughter! You’ve gained weight again!”

Zhouzhou didn’t even realize she was a sweet burden. She happily wrapped her arms around Grandpa Qin’s neck, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Before Grandma Qin could feel jealous, Zhouzhou leaned over and kissed her too.

Now both grandparents were happy.
