Chapter 865: Saving a Life
“What?”
Everyone was stunned when they heard that. After all, they were just a group of kids. The concept of death was still distant for them, and they were frozen in place.
The teacher of the last class quickly raised their head, walking over in large strides. Seeing that it was true, the teacher immediately said, “Beibei, call Principal Chang and tell him about this!”
“Okay.” Chang Beibei nodded, quickly dialing her father’s number and telling him everything, though her voice still trembled uncontrollably.
She liked gossip, sure, but not this kind.
Within two minutes, Principal Chang arrived. He didn’t come inside but passed by their classroom door.
When Zhouzhou saw this, she immediately started running after him, rushing outside and grabbing onto Qin Lie’s leg.
Before he could say anything, she pulled on his hand and started dragging him towards the car, urging, “Dad, hurry! We need to go to the hospital! Zhou Fei is going to jump off the building!”
Upon hearing this, Qin Lie was also surprised.
Although he disliked Zhou Fei’s mother, he knew that the actions of the parents had nothing to do with the child.
Without another word, he immediately picked Zhouzhou up and got into the car.
At the same time, Principal Chang had also rushed to the entrance, and Zhouzhou called out, “Principal, hop into my dad’s car!”
“Alright.”
In such a situation, Principal Chang didn’t hesitant for a second.
As Qin Lie started the car, he said, “Zhouzhou, call your second uncle and have him clear the road.”
It was rush hour, and the traffic was terrible. If they didn’t clear the way, by the time they got there, the tragedy might already have occurred.
“Okay!” Zhouzhou nodded her little head and quickly called Qin Xu.
Qin Xu listened and said, “Alright, I’ll handle it.”
After hanging up, he immediately called the traffic police department.
So, during the evening rush hour, a clear, unobstructed road was opened up.
Zhouzhou held her copper coins tightly, constantly calculating, but every reading resulted in an ominous prediction, causing her eyelids to twitch non-stop.
Oh no, Zhou Fei really might be in trouble!
At the hospital rooftop, Mrs. Zhou sat collapsed on the ground, utterly broken. Her legs were too weak to even stand.
She looked at Zhou Fei, full of pain, “Why… why are you doing this to me? I treat you so well… you’re all I have left. Are you going to abandon me too?”
Her words made everyone present feel a sense of sorrow, except for Zhou Fei, who looked indifferent.
He stared at her without a hint of emotion in his eyes.
In the past, when he heard her say things like this, he would feel guilty, even blame himself for coming into this world.
If it weren’t for him, his mother wouldn’t have left the marriage with nothing.
If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have had to work so hard, always pulling late hours and struggling every day.
If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have had to cook or pick him up from school every day.

He knew his mother loved him, but he also felt overwhelmed.
These were the feelings he had never been able to express.
He simply stared at her, unable to cry.
His blank expression only deepened Mrs. Zhou’s pain.
She screamed hysterically, “What do you want from me? I’ve given you everything!”
Zhou Fei instinctively flinched at her accusation, his body trembling with fear.
This triggered something within him, and he too broke down, shouting, “Friends! I want friends!”
Once he opened his mouth, the rest of the words poured out naturally.
“Mom, I want friends. I want to play and laugh with them.”
“Mom, I want you to stop controlling me. Stop going to my school and causing a scene. Do you know why I’m being bullied? It’s all because of you!”
“Mom, can you please stop loving me so much?”
His sharp words cut through the air, silencing Mrs. Zhou. She looked at him in disbelief, her whole body shaking. Not even during her divorce had she been this angry.
She gasped for breath, pounding her chest, tears streaming down her face. “Zhou Fei!”
She shouted his name, “Do you even know what you’re saying? If it weren’t for me, would you even be here in this world?”
“I didn’t ask to be here!” Zhou Fei shouted back.
This was the first time he had ever raised his voice at her.
Mrs. Zhou was stunned.
“Mom, I didn’t want to come here. You and Dad brought me into this world without my consent.”
“This world is awful. I don’t like it.”
As he spoke, Zhou Fei took a few steps back, inching closer to the edge. Mrs. Zhou’s heart was in her throat as she watched.
She stared at Zhou Fei, unfamiliar with the child before her. It was as if she didn’t know him at all.
Suddenly, she scrambled to her feet and stood at the nearest edge of the rooftop. “Fine, jump! If you jump, I’ll jump with you!”
“Fei, I only have you left. You can’t treat me like this, you can’t talk to me like this.”
“Everything I’ve done is for you.”
She spoke with genuine emotion, but at this point, Zhou Fei was numb to anything involving love.
He looked exhausted. “Mom, can you please stop saying you love me?”
Mrs. Zhou snapped, “If I stop saying I love you, what should I say instead? Should I talk about how ungrateful you are?”
She had made up her mind. If worst came to worst, they’d both die here today.
Zhou Fei was left speechless. He opened his mouth as if to speak but couldn’t get a word out.
His gaze became empty and numb.
He looked down, seeing the crowd below, but none of them were his friends.
No, he did have a friend once.
Zhou Fei’s eyes flickered as he thought of Zhouzhou.
She said they were friends.
His hand instinctively reached for his pocket, where a lollipop was tucked away. He hadn’t even unwrapped it because it was special to him–his friend had given it to him.
They had played “eagle catches the chick” together, and he had been so happy.
So incredibly happy.
Remembering yesterday, a faint smile formed on his lips.
Seeing him smile, Mrs. Zhou felt an overwhelming sense of dread.
“F-Fei, let’s get down from here, okay?” she said, her voice filled with panic.
Zhou Fei looked up at her, smiled faintly, and shook his head. “No.”
“Mom, this life is just too hard.”
“Let me go. In my next life, I don’t want to be your son.”
Without any hesitation, he jumped.
“Fei!” Mrs. Zhou screamed in horror.
“Zhou Fei!” Zhouzhou arrived just in time to see this, and her eyes widened in shock. She immediately pushed off with her feet, sprinting toward the edge.
At the same time, she slapped her bag, shouting, “Ancestral Master, save him!”
