Chapter 881: Three Captures, Three Releases
“Who’s there?” Garen was startled and shouted angrily.
Zhouzhou understood this time. She removed the Invisibility Talisman, waved at him with a bright smile, and said, “It’s me!” Then she tried to whistle, but couldn’t quite manage it.
When Garen looked over, he was met with a chubby little face. The scariest part? She was floating in mid-air! Garen’s eyes widened in shock, and just as he was about to shoot at her, Zhouzhou swung a punch, knocking the gun out of his hand.
At the same time, Lan Tian fired four quick shots, each ringing out with a “bang,” and Garen collapsed to his knees, bleeding from all four limbs. Ancestral Master set Zhouzhou down, grumbling, “You really need to lose weight!”
This little chubby girl had no sense of her own weight. She was short and round, yet insisted on acting like a villain, whispering in people’s ears. Since she couldn’t reach, she made him carry her around. And trying to whistle? She nearly made his old bones cringe with all that oiliness!
“Hmph!” Zhouzhou puffed out her cheeks in displeasure. “Ancestral Master, you’re the fat one!”
She was cute, not fat! How many times did she have to say it before they’d understand?
Ancestral Master rubbed his back, too tired to argue. After all, she’d never admit to being overweight. Lan Tian jumped down from the tree, walked over, and first removed all of Garen’s tools, making sure everything was secure before tying him up. He then turned to Zhouzhou and asked, “What should we do now?”
Zhouzhou rubbed her chubby chin, her round eyes rolling mischievously. It was clear she was up to no good. For some reason, Garen felt a chill down his spine.
“Let me go!” Garen screamed in frustration.
Unexpectedly, Zhouzhou nodded, “Sure, I’ll let you go.”
Lan Tian was momentarily stunned. Ancestral Master sprang to his feet. “Are you crazy? You finally caught him, and now you’re letting him go?”
Zhouzhou seemed troubled as she fidgeted with her little chubby hands. “But my teacher says good children don’t bully others.”
As if! She’d bullied plenty of people! Yet the mischief in her eyes was unmistakable–she had a plan. Ancestral Master sat back down, reassured. There was no way she’d actually let him go, especially since Garen had messed with Ye Lingfeng, and Zhouzhou was fiercely protective of him.
Lan Tian also quickly understood the situation. Garen, however, remained clueless, genuinely believing Zhouzhou would release him. He sneered inwardly–these Chinese were too soft-hearted. Once he escaped, he’d make sure to take revenge for today!
But that was if he could escape at all. Lan Tian watched Garen’s expression, chuckled coldly, and began untying him. His baby-faced expression was full of anticipation–he was eager to see what Zhouzhou had in store.
Not only did Zhouzhou release Garen, but she also applied medicine to his wounds. Though the bullets were still inside, the bleeding stopped. She waved him off, “Run along now.”
Garen stared at her for a few seconds, saw that she wasn’t even holding a gun, and became more confident. He turned and bolted. After running about ten meters, he glanced back to see them still standing there, not chasing him. He exhaled in relief. These foolish Chinese!
Just as he was about to laugh, pain shot through his injured leg, and he stumbled to the ground. Looking back, his face turned ghostly pale. There, staring at him, was a cobra, its tongue flicking menacingly.
Terrified, Garen froze, not daring to move. But the cobra didn’t relent and quickly bit him on the arm. Within seconds, Garen’s vision began to blur, and he felt faint.
This was a deadly venom! But why was the snake attacking him, even though he hadn’t moved?
Just as he thought he was about to die, Zhouzhou’s chubby little face appeared in front of him, blurry but unmistakable. Was this a hallucination?
Zhouzhou pulled out a pill and stuffed it into his mouth. Moments later, his strength returned, and he felt his senses coming back. He looked at Zhouzhou in disbelief. Was she… saving him?
Why?
Only to toy with him further, of course.
Lan Tian and Ancestral Master had already figured out what was going on. The medicine Zhouzhou had given Garen earlier must have been tampered with, attracting the snakes to his wounds.
Indeed, Zhouzhou had sabotaged the medicine. She wanted him to experience the pain of being bitten by a snake. Her father had been bitten once; she was going to make sure Garen was bitten ten times over!
Garen had no idea what Zhouzhou’s real intentions were, but the murderous aura radiating from her was unmistakable. She wanted him dead.
Yet, when she released him again, he still turned and tried to flee without hesitation. Zhouzhou didn’t give chase. After a few meters, another snake appeared, biting his other leg.
Garen’s face twisted in pain. Why were there so many snakes here?

And once again, Zhouzhou came to his “rescue,” administering the antidote and letting him go. But each time he ran, more snakes attacked him. In the end, not even Zhouzhou’s antidote could save him from the poison.
He collapsed on the ground, staring up at Zhouzhou’s tiny figure, finally understanding what was happening. His gaze filled with hatred as he spat, “You… you…”
Zhouzhou tilted her head and blinked at him, her small mouth curling into a grin. “What about me? I know you want to say how kind I am, right? No need to praise me–I know! My brother always says I’m the kindest.”
How could there be such a shameless child?
Infuriated, Garen coughed up a mouthful of blood. As darkness overtook him, he thought death would finally release him from this nightmare.
But then the childlike voice whispered in his ear again, like the devil himself, “Don’t worry, I won’t let you die.”
She wasn’t finished with him yet–he had much more to pay for.
Zhouzhou pulled out golden needles, but not to save him, only to keep him alive long enough to endure more suffering.
Garen groggily woke up to see Zhouzhou still there, and his heart sank in utter despair. “Who… who are you?” he asked through gritted teeth.
He clearly remembered he hadn’t wronged her before.
Zhouzhou flashed a bright smile. “My name is Qin Caicai, but I also go by Ye Fugui.”
“But you don’t need to know my name. Just remember who I am.”
“Here’s a hint for you. My father’s name is Ye Lingfeng.”
At the sound of that name, Garen’s eyes widened in shock. Ye’s daughter? No wonder!
“Is he dead?” Garen sneered.
At least it would be worth it if he took Ye with him to the grave.
Zhouzhou’s dimples deepened with joy as she cheerfully replied, “Don’t worry, my dad’s fine! He’ll wake up in a couple of days.”
“Do you miss him? Don’t worry, I’ll take you to see him.”
With that, she grabbed him by the leg and dragged him forward.
Garen could feel his back being scraped raw from the rough treatment, but Zhouzhou didn’t care, and Lan Tian stood by, laughing at the spectacle.
When they reached the corpses of Garen’s subordinates, Zhouzhou paused for a moment.
Garen thought she might feel some guilt for killing so many people, but then he heard her excitedly exclaim, “Brother, these are all big villains! Do you think we can trade them for lots of money?”
Money?
Had he heard that right?
Zhouzhou tapped their bodies, as if evaluating livestock. “This one has a lot of killing intent–he’s probably worth more than the others!”
Garen spat out another mouthful of blood before passing out once again.
Kind? These Chinese were the most devious of all!
