Chapter 888: Father Ye Pressures Father Qin, Absolute Domination
Hearing those words, Zhouzhou’s eyes immediately widened with fury.
“My dad would never abandon me!” she snapped fiercely.
Huo Ji’an let out a surprised “Huh” and looked at her in confusion. “But didn’t you say it yourself? That your dad doesn’t want you anymore.”
“That was before! He forgave me right after,” Zhouzhou retorted confidently. She firmly believed that her Sharp Tongue Daddy would always have her back. Whatever he said was bound to work.
Hearing this, Qin Bei turned his head and chimed in, “Do you think Uncle will let it go? He looked pretty upset this time. You cried so hard yesterday, and he still ignored you. I think he’s really done with you.”
Before he could finish, a sharp thwack landed on his head.
“Ouch!” He winced, turning toward Qin Nan in annoyance. “Why’d you hit me?”
“For your big mouth!” Qin Nan shot back.
If it’s useless, might as well sew it shut.
Qin Feng also frowned disapprovingly, his gaze suggesting that Qin Bei had better keep quiet before he made Zhouzhou cry again.
The mention of yesterday’s events brought tears to Zhouzhou’s eyes once more.
Qin Feng quickly reassured her, “It’s nothing, really. Uncle adores you the most. He won’t stay mad for long. You’ll patch things up soon and go back to how things were.”
Hearing this, Zhouzhou managed to rein in her emotions. She nodded firmly, though she threw a glare at Qin Bei. “Sixth Brother, I don’t want to play with you today!”
Qin Bei snorted. “Fine, don’t play then. Besides, maybe by tomorrow, I’ll have to start calling you Aunt. Today’s the last day I’m your brother, so I’ll let you have your way. Starting tomorrow, you’ll have to defer to me.”
Grandma had already said she planned to transfer Zhouzhou’s household registration to her name.
Qin Bei thought it was a fantastic idea.
As an aunt, she’d definitely have to protect her nephew, right?
Standing beside him, Qin Nan overheard his words and couldn’t help but give him a look that said it all: Are you serious?
Is he stupid? Aunt or sister, Zhouzhou would still be Zhouzhou. Grandpa and Grandma would spoil her just the same. And, by the same logic, they’d keep disdaining the rest of them just as much.
They’d still be the underdogs of the Qin family.
What did seniority have to do with any of it?
If Zhouzhou wasn’t around, it’s not like Grandpa and Grandma were showering them with affection anyway.
What kind of daydream was he having in broad daylight?
Watching Qin Bei’s foolish expression, Qin Nan’s disdain grew even deeper, solidifying his resolve.
Make money. Get plastic surgery.
This face—every day he kept it, was a day too many!
Zhouzhou didn’t notice any of the chatter around her—her mind was entirely preoccupied with Qin Lie. Even the school day seemed to drag unbearably.
The moment the bell rang, she grabbed her backpack and dashed out without a word.
Seeing this, Huo Ji’an and the others hurried to chase after her.
Zhouzhou sprinted all the way to the school gate, where she spotted Ye Lingfeng standing there. She flashed him a quick smile before her little head began swiveling anxiously, searching the crowd with a worried expression.

Ye Lingfeng snorted lightly at her behavior and muttered under his breath, “Playing favorites again,” before stepping forward.
Zhouzhou searched high and low but couldn’t find the figure she was longing to see. The light in her eyes dimmed bit by bit as she looked up at Ye Lingfeng, her lips trembling, on the verge of tears.
Seeing this, Ye Lingfeng said, “I told him everything you wanted me to say. I even put in a good word for you. I told him that if he didn’t show up today, it’d mean he doesn’t want you anymore.”
“And it looks like he really doesn’t want you. From now on, it’s just me and you.”
At this, Ye Lingfeng let out a dramatic sigh, shaking his head.
Zhouzhou’s small mouth quivered as her eyes turned red, and tears began streaming down her cheeks.
Ye Lingfeng, unfazed, continued, “Crying won’t help. If he doesn’t want you, what can I do about it?”
“Honestly, I think it’s for the best. So what if he has money? I’m not broke, and now you can even make your own. You don’t need him anymore. If he doesn’t want you, you don’t need him either.”
Hearing him repeat over and over that Qin Lie didn’t want her anymore, Zhouzhou could no longer hold back. With a loud wail, she burst into tears.
Ye Lingfeng raised an eyebrow at her outburst but made no move to comfort her. Instead, he thoughtfully stepped aside, giving her more space to cry to her heart’s content.
Her ear-piercing sobs startled everyone around her, drawing puzzled glances.
They’d seen kids cry about going to school—but crying like this after school? That was something new.
Especially since Zhouzhou was never one to cry on her way to class!
Huo Ji’an and the others were beside themselves, forming a small circle around her and wracking their brains to comfort her.
Li Yuxin tried softly, “Don’t cry, Zhouzhou. If you keep going, you’ll lose your voice.”
But Zhouzhou ignored her, continuing to cry her heart out.
With no other options, Li Yuxin turned to Qin Bei.
Qin Bei opened his mouth, only to spout something so infuriating it begged for a smack. “Aunt Zhouzhou, don’t worry! Soon Grandpa and Grandma will transfer your household registration to their name. Then you can call them Mom and Dad, we’ll call you Auntie, and Uncle will call you Sister. We’ll still all be one big family!”
Hearing this, Zhouzhou plopped herself down on the ground with a thud, crying even louder.
Why is her life so miserable?
Her dad turning into her brother—who could understand such heartbreak?
She didn’t want this!
Qin Nan cradled his phone, recording Zhouzhou’s tearful breakdown, and sent it straight to the family group chat.
Within moments, the chat exploded.
Grandma Qin: [Who made Zhouzhou cry again?!]
Qin Bei glanced at the messages, unable to resist chiming in gleefully: [It was Little Uncle!]
Grandma Qin’s anger only deepened.
Grandma Qin: [I knew it! It’s always him bullying my granddaughter—no, my daughter! That’s it. I’m officially declaring it. She’s my daughter now!]
Grandma Qin: [Old Qin, get the household registry! We’re transferring her to us immediately!]
True to her word, Grandma Qin stormed off to find the household registry book.
Grandpa Qin, observing the chaos and noticing Qin Lie’s prolonged silence in the group, sighed heavily.
If this went on, their “daughter” might really be lost. What was that boy even thinking?
Assuming Qin Lie was too busy to check the chat, Grandpa Qin called his assistant to clarify.
To his surprise, the assistant responded, “Mr. Qin left a while ago. Isn’t it Zhouzhou’s school dismissal time? He’s gone to pick her up.”
Ever since Zhouzhou’s arrival, Qin Lie had adhered to a strict schedule, leaving work like clockwork every day to fetch her. The assistant had grown so accustomed to it that he was surprised Grandpa Qin didn’t know.
Hearing this, Grandpa Qin paused, then let out a hearty laugh. The worry on his face dissipated.
That rascal—so he wasn’t as heartless as he seemed. He’d just been playing tough.
Let him act cool for now. But if Zhouzhou truly decided she didn’t want him anymore, he’d see who’d end up crying.
Meanwhile, Zhouzhou was sobbing so hard she’d begun to cough, her pitiful state tugging at everyone’s heartstrings.
Ye Lingfeng, however, stood unmoved, arms crossed as he waited. He resisted the urge to scoop her up and comfort her.
Let’s see how long he can stay in that car pretending to be a statue!
As Zhouzhou’s sobs grew louder, to the point she nearly retched, Huo Ji’an hurried to pat her back, looking utterly exasperated.
“You’re crying over this? If he doesn’t want you, then don’t want him either! Just get a new dad, isn’t that easier?”
The words had barely left his mouth when he felt an icy glare pierce through him like a dagger…
