Chapter 894: Chubby Girl Turns into Skinny Pole
Hearing what Ye Lingfeng said, Zhouzhou suddenly had an epiphany, as if she had just remembered him, which made Ye Lingfeng grit his teeth. He felt the urge to hit her again! This ungrateful little brat–whoever wants her can have her!
Noticing that Ye Lingfeng was angry, Zhouzhou quickly patted Qin Lie’s shoulder, signaling him to put her down. She hurried over to Ye Lingfeng, wrapped her arms around his legs, and looked up at him with her chubby cheeks, dimples showing, and said softly, “Daddy, I’m sorry. I was wrong.”
Ye Lingfeng let out a cold snort, trying to show his displeasure.
At that moment, a louder snort came from behind them. Looking toward the source, they saw Zhao Xinghua standing there, his face as dark as coal. “Does anyone remember me?”
Compared to Ye Lingfeng, he was the one truly being ignored!
Seeing him, Zhouzhou quickly ran over, hugged his computer, and said, “Uncle Chief, you’re the best!”
As soon as she said that, two simultaneous cold snorts were heard behind her.
Zhao Xinghua glared at both Qin Lie and Ye Lingfeng, but his gaze ultimately settled on Qin Lie. “Alright, I won’t interrupt your little family moment, but before you eat, we need to settle business first.”
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully tonight! He had no intention of constantly worrying about Zhouzhou being stolen away by the Commander only to have her get swiped right under his nose. He knew all too well how much Zhouzhou, this daddy’s girl, listened to her father–especially to Qin Lie. With just one word from him, Zhouzhou could very well quit.
Ye Lingfeng also looked over and said, “Just make a statement already. Zhouzhou will definitely stay with me, so just take the easy way out.”
Hearing this, Qin Lie glanced at him but couldn’t be bothered to respond.
Zhao Xinghua also let out a snort internally. If you were so capable, why ask him to come in the first place? Who’s giving who a way out here?
Qin Lie looked at the golden glow above Zhouzhou’s head and then glanced at the photos on the screen. Taking a deep breath, he finally nodded.
He had been the unreasonable one from the start. If Zhouzhou really left, Ye Lingfeng probably wouldn’t accept it either.
Regardless, as soon as Qin Lie nodded, Zhouzhou’s face lit up with a brilliant smile. She rushed over and hugged him, comforting him, “Daddy, don’t worry! I won’t be in any danger! See, I’ve got the golden light to protect me, and there’s Ancestral Master too.”
“Mm,” Qin Lie nodded, but he still warned, “In the future, you must tell me everything.”
Ye Lingfeng cut in, “What’s the point of telling you? You never agree to anything. Just tell me. All he does is worry for nothing, completely clueless.”
Qin Lie shot him a glance but, for once, didn’t argue back. Ye Lingfeng wasn’t entirely wrong about that.
Zhouzhou balanced it perfectly, saying, “I’ll tell both of you. You’re both my favorite people!”
With that one sentence, the two men’s moods improved instantly.
Seeing this, Zhouzhou let out a sigh of relief and grabbed both their hands, pulling them outside. “Let’s go eat quickly, or I’ll starve from being a chubby girl to a skinny pole!”
Oh, she needn’t have worried about that.
Qin Lie glanced at Zhouzhou and thought that no matter how many times she skipped meals, she’d never slim down like Huo Ji’an.
Thankfully, Zhouzhou wasn’t aware of her father’s thoughts. Otherwise, she’d have burst into tears on the spot.
Was there no justice? One dad called her shorty, and the other called her chubby. How was she supposed to live like this?
At worst, she’d just complain a little. The one truly struggling was Grandma Qin.
Sitting on the couch, she was holding her chest and sighing dramatically every now and then.
Qin Bei accidentally let out a laugh, and immediately, Grandma Qin’s sharp gaze shot toward him. “Laugh, laugh, laugh! Your little sister’s gone, and you still have the nerve to laugh!”
Qin Bei shamelessly replied, “If little sister’s gone, having Auntie isn’t so bad either.”
He wasn’t picky anyway.

At the mention of this, Grandma Qin thought back to Zhouzhou’s earlier avoidance of the subject and her mood plummeted further.
She reached out and turned off the TV. Qin Bei immediately started crying.
Grandma Qin, on the other hand, let out a satisfied breath. Now, this is more like it!
If she wasn’t happy, no one was allowed to smile in front of her!
Qin Nan, holding a cup, glanced at the crying Qin Bei, rubbed his face, and sighed deeply.
Just as he was about to head back to his room, something caught his attention. He froze, his eyes widening. “Zhouzhou?”
Hearing this, Grandma Qin also turned to look and saw her little granddaughter bouncing toward them, a beaming smile on her face.
Immediately, her mood lifted. She jumped up from her seat and hurried over.
“Zhouzhou, you’re back!”
“Mm-hmm!” Zhouzhou nodded enthusiastically and nuzzled Grandma Qin’s palm. “Grandma, I missed you so much!”
“Grandma missed you too.”
Grandma Qin couldn’t stop smiling. She glanced over at her younger son and saw him smiling as well. Finally, she let out a long sigh of relief. Thank goodness the fighting is over.
With her little granddaughter gone for a few days, she’d felt unwell in every possible way. Now, all those problems were gone.
Her granddaughter was the best remedy!
Grandpa Qin, watching the scene unfold, also looked noticeably more relaxed.
Thank goodness she’s finally back.
Zhouzhou spotted him and rushed over. “Grandpa, I’m back!”
A small, soft bundle crashed into Grandpa Qin, softening his heart. His normally stern face softened into a smile.
He held Zhouzhou’s hand tightly, not letting go. “It’s good you’re back, good you’re back.”
Looking over at Qin Lie, he asked, “So, you’ve thought things through?”
Qin Lie nodded.
The father and son exchanged a glance, silently understanding each other.
Grandpa Qin didn’t ask any more questions. He didn’t care what Qin Lie thought; as long as his granddaughter was back, that’s all that mattered.
At that moment, Zhouzhou noticed two suitcases behind the couch–Grandpa and Grandma Qin’s luggage.
Confused, she asked, “Grandpa, Grandma, are you going somewhere?”
“Yep,” Grandma Qin glanced at Qin Lie and let out a snort. “If someone hadn’t brought you back soon, your grandpa and I were about to leave and go live with a new son.”
They had plenty of sons to choose from, but only one granddaughter. They weren’t about to let go of her!
Ye Lingfeng noticed their suitcases and chuckled. “Since Aunt and Uncle Qin are all packed, why not come stay at my place for a few days?”
Grandpa and Grandma Qin looked at him, already having a good impression of him. Compared to Qin Lie, he seemed even more sensible now.
Grandma Qin smiled and said, “Sure! And from now on, don’t call us Aunt and Uncle anymore. Call me Mom, and call him Dad. Wherever Zhouzhou goes, we go!”
“I agree,” Ye Lingfeng said with a grin, clearly enjoying the chaos.
Zhouzhou covered her mouth, trying to hold back a giggle. She loved it like this–everyone happy and together.
Grandma Qin, thrilled that Zhouzhou was back, dragged her off to dinner, even having the maid prepare extra dishes and urging Zhouzhou to eat more.
She didn’t need any convincing. As soon as Zhouzhou grabbed her bowl, she couldn’t let go, eating to her heart’s content, determined to make up for all the meals she’d missed over the past few days!
After dinner, she took a bath, then pulled Qin Lie and Ye Lingfeng to lie on either side of her, rolling from one to the other, feeling as happy as could be.
Qin Lie and Ye Lingfeng kept their eyes on Zhouzhou, not daring to look at each other, lest their eyes burn!
After playing for a while, Zhouzhou suddenly thought of Lan Tian and wondered how he was doing.
“Daddy, I’m going to call my brother,” Zhouzhou said.
Ye Lingfeng nodded, “Go ahead.”
Zhouzhou tapped on her phone watch and made a video call. She thought he might be grounded, but to her surprise, the scene that appeared was inside an airplane cockpit.
Her eyes widened, “Brother, where are you going?”
Lan Tian’s lips curled into a cold, determined smile, and his eyes were filled with killing intent.
“Off to deal with some scum!”
