Chapter 895: Why Didn’t You Take Me Along?
“Exactly!” A familiar voice suddenly came from the co-pilot seat.
Then, a face appeared on the screen.
Zhouzhou was surprised and asked, “Sixth Senior Brother?”
Who else could it be but Wei Feng?
“Why are you here too?” Zhouzhou asked curiously, feeling a bit envious.
She wondered where they were headed and why they didn’t take her along!
But glancing at Qin Lie beside her, she swallowed her words, only staring at the two with bright, eager eyes.
Before Wei Feng or Lan Tian could speak, a furious voice came over the radio, “Lan Tian, if you dare to leave, try it!”
Lan Tian’s eyes lit up. “Alright, thanks, Chief!” he said and immediately turned off the radio.
The chief on the other end was so enraged that he was practically jumping up and down.
Is that what he meant?
This little brat! Wait until he comes back–he’s going to get it!
Ye Lingfeng raised an eyebrow slightly, recognizing the voice. Seeing Zhouzhou blink with eagerness, he made a phone call.
“Hello,” the gruff voice from earlier quickly came through.
Lan Tian, noticing the call, remained silent, focusing on flying.
It was Lan Tian’s chief, and upon hearing the noise, he immediately asked, “Why do I hear that brat Lan Tian’s voice?”
Lan Tian, exasperated, finally spoke, “Chief, you’ve got super hearing, huh?”
“Bullshit!” The chief’s temper flared as soon as he heard Lan Tian’s voice. “Stop right now! Or else, don’t even think about coming back!”
“Don’t forget, you’re still under house arrest! You weren’t authorized to take on any missions. If you act recklessly, it’ll only add to your crimes, and you really won’t be able to return!”
His tone was severe, and he wasn’t trying to scare him.
A soldier’s duty is to obey, but Lan Tian was notoriously rebellious.
This wasn’t just any small issue–if Lan Tian proceeded, it could cause an international crisis.
“If you go and get caught, you’ll be handing Country R exactly what they want!”
Hearing this, Ye Lingfeng’s eyes narrowed dangerously. He sat up straight and asked in a low voice, “What’s going on?”
Relations with Country R had always been tense. The chief wasn’t exaggerating the potential consequences.
Sensing Ye Lingfeng’s concern, the chief quickly explained, “Country R has been dumping contaminated water into the ocean. Lan Tian found out and broke out of house arrest to go drop a bomb on them.”
“If he does that, we’ll be in a completely passive position!”
His tone grew more serious, “Lan Tian, if this escalates into a war, can you take responsibility for that?”
Lan Tian clenched his jaw, his voice cold and firm. “So we just let them destroy the future of our children and grandchildren?”
The chief took a deep breath. “I know what they’re doing is wrong, but acting out of anger won’t fix anything!”

His voice rose in frustration.
Zhouzhou, listening to this, shrank back a little, confused.
She blinked, then asked blankly, “What’s happening?”
Qin Lie pulled out his phone, searched for the news, and handed it to Zhouzhou.
When Zhouzhou saw it, her eyes widened in shock.
Dumping hazardous waste into the ocean?
She was immediately anxious. “What about the creatures in the sea?”
That was exactly Wei Feng’s concern.
He wanted to see if there was any way to help evacuate the marine life, even if temporarily.
But he felt powerless.
The ocean was vast and interconnected–where could they move the animals? And even if they could, it wouldn’t be a permanent solution.
Sea creatures weren’t like humans who could understand and adapt easily.
And even if they could move some, could they survive in a new environment?
These were all significant problems.
All thanks to those people from Country R!
At that moment, Ye Lingfeng received a message from Zhao Xinghua. It was brief but direct.
“Stop Lan Tian.”
No matter what, they had to come up with a workable solution first. Acting recklessly would only make things worse.
Ye Lingfeng tapped his finger on his leg thoughtfully, then handed the phone to Zhouzhou, signaling her to speak to Lan Tian.
At the very least, Wei Feng was there, and he’d surely listen to Zhouzhou.
Zhouzhou didn’t understand why they needed to stop them–she herself felt like going over and fighting.
But she trusted her dad’s judgment.
Thinking this, she said to Lan Tian and Wei Feng, “Brother, Sixth Senior Brother, don’t go yet.”
Lan Tian’s voice immediately grew cold. “What, you think I’m wrong too?”
“Yeah,” Zhouzhou nodded earnestly, blurting out, “You’re wrong for not taking me along to fight the bad guys! Isn’t that right?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she quickly covered it in embarrassment.
Oops, she said what she was thinking!
She glanced nervously at Qin Lie, relieved to see that he wasn’t angry. Still, she was puzzled.
Wasn’t her dad against her going on missions? Why was he so calm now?
Sensing her gaze, Qin Lie gently turned her head back toward the screen.
He exchanged a glance with Ye Lingfeng.
The consequences of dumping toxic waste into the ocean were obvious to everyone, even children.
If Zhouzhou could prevent this from happening, Qin Lie wouldn’t stop her.
But could a little girl really make a difference in such a huge issue?
Only one way to find out.
Ye Lingfeng had made up his mind. “Don’t leave yet. I’ll come with you.”
With that, he scooped Zhouzhou up and strode out.
Qin Lie followed without hesitation.
The chief’s angry voice came through the phone again, “I told you to stop him, not go with him! Stop, all of you!”
Zhao Xinghua, too, was bombarding Ye Lingfeng with calls, and when he didn’t answer, he sent a flurry of texts.
[Don’t go! Stop messing around! This isn’t something you can afford to mess with right now!]
[You’re driving me crazy! Look, just go check it out, but don’t act rashly. Come back and strategize first, and don’t give them any ammunition to use against us.]
Upon reading the last message, Ye Lingfeng finally chuckled and replied, “Got it.”
Seeing the reply, Zhao Xinghua rolled his eyes. “As if he ever listens. Ugh.”
But the real problem was with those people from Country R.
As he thought about it, Zhao Xinghua’s expression darkened. They would have to pay for this!
Meanwhile, Lan Tian, hearing Ye Lingfeng’s words, surprisingly complied and began to lower the plane.
Before long, Ye Lingfeng and the others arrived on the scene.
Zhouzhou’s little head poked in first, her chubby hand waving like a lucky cat’s, looking adorable.
“Brother, Sixth Senior Brother, long time no see!”
“Let’s go! Time to beat up the bad guys together!”
