Chapter 900: The Reckoning Has Come
Zhao Xinghua didn’t manage to find out what they were planning, but he figured that with such an important matter at hand, Ye Lingfeng wouldn’t act recklessly, so he didn’t press further. Before leaving, he cautioned, “Make sure to wear protective gear and be careful.” With the Wind-Driven Talisman, dealing with the wastewater was manageable, but Zhao Xinghua was still most concerned about the radiation exposure.
The Chief also fixed his gaze on Lan Tian, admonishing, “Follow orders in all actions, no recklessness, and be very cautious.” His brow was furrowed, filled with worry.
Lan Tian looked at him and suddenly smiled, stepping forward to give him a hug. “I knew you cared for me the most; don’t worry!”
“You brat,” the Chief scolded him without much heat, giving his shoulder a light punch. “What good is that? You’re always getting into trouble.”
Lan Tian exaggeratedly clutched his shoulder, laughing.
Qin Lie held Zhouzhou’s hand, concern etched on his face. Zhouzhou smiled at him, then playfully jumped into his arms, planting a kiss on his cheek. “Daddy, make sure to prepare lots of delicious food for me when I get back! I want to eat tons and tons of it!”
“Okay,” Qin Lie said, pinching her cheek and securing her helmet. “Be careful and stay close to your dad.”
“Mm-hmm!” Zhouzhou nodded vigorously, waved goodbye, and ran towards the car.
Ye Lingfeng glanced at him, “Don’t worry.”
Qin Lie nodded slightly, knowing he would protect Zhouzhou well. He just hoped everything would go smoothly.
After the car stopped at the airport, the group boarded Lan Tian’s plane. He asked, “Where are we testing first?” They needed to try out the talisman’s effects.
Ye Lingfeng glanced at the map and quickly pinpointed a location–a sea area not far from Country R, near an uninhabited island. They could conduct the tests and immediately head to Country R without wasting time.
Once the position was noted, Lan Tian went to the cockpit. Finally, the day had arrived. He took off swiftly, the plane flying at high speed. He could hardly wait a second longer.
Meanwhile, Zhao Xinghua closely monitored the screen, tracking their movements. Lan Tian and his team soon arrived at the testing sea area. Suddenly, strong winds whipped up the ocean, sending waves soaring ten meters high, crashing toward the island. At the moment of impact, the water seemed to bounce back, likely due to the protective talisman Zhouzhou had mentioned.
Zhao Xinghua let out a relieved breath; it seemed this method was indeed viable. Now it was time for Country R to face the consequences. He checked his phone and saw that they were still claiming the incident with those few people being struck by lightning was just an accident, urging everyone not to overthink it. They insisted the wastewater they discharged met standards and was harmless.
He scoffed coldly. If it were truly harmless, what was the point of discharging it at all? These people were masterful liars, their deceit ingrained in their very bones. He couldn’t be bothered to waste more words on them; he only hoped Zhouzhou and the others would return safely.
At this point, Zhouzhou and her team had reached the skies above Country R. Ancestral Master shook himself, saying, “You all back off and keep your distance.”
“Okay,” Zhouzhou told Lan Tian. He nodded and ascended the plane higher. Ancestral Master tossed a Windproof Talisman into the aircraft to protect them from any potential backlash.
Once they were in a safe position, he focused on the sea below and threw down the talisman. The flowing seawater was instantly pushed back with great force. It was the lunch break, and by the time the staff noticed the anomaly, half of the nuclear power station was already submerged.
Dead fish lay everywhere, flipped on their backs, victims of the pollution they had caused. Their wide-open eyes seemed to glare resentfully at the people, sending a chill down the spine of anyone who saw them. It was eerie.
Realizing what was happening, they quickly contacted their supervisor. Before long, the entire staff at the nuclear plant had gathered, stunned by the sight before them.
Ancestral Master looked at them and snorted coldly, waving his hand to splash seawater onto them. The staff’s faces changed instantly, panic setting in as they stumbled backward, shouting, “Doctor, doctor!”
Aren’t you the ones saying the water was harmless? Why are you scared now?
Ye Lingfeng fixed his gaze on the screen and turned to Zhouzhou, asking, “Can we contact Heavenly Thunder?”
“Of course!” Zhouzhou immediately began chanting, “Mr. Thunder is great, Mr. Thunder is awesome, I love Mr. Thunder the most!”
The next second, a crackling sound filled the air. Heavenly Thunder was angrily striking down bolts, exclaiming that it wasn’t just any ordinary thunder! Did she not remember?
“Look, here it comes,” Zhouzhou covered her mouth, giggling, and admired Heavenly Thunder, “Mr. Thunder, you’re so humble!”
It didn’t like being praised at all. She wanted to learn from it!
Heavenly Thunder twirled around, casting aside the compliments. “Stop praising me, I don’t need it!”
Seeing Heavenly Thunder’s antics, Ye Lingfeng was slightly taken aback, then he slowly smiled. What a foolish Heavenly Thunder!

As if sensing his thoughts, Heavenly Thunder abruptly halted and turned its “gaze” toward him. It didn’t dare approach because of the Protective Light of the Nation surrounding him but still wiggled its claws as if to threaten him. If he kept calling it dumb, it would zap his daughter!
With that thought, it dashed onto Zhouzhou’s head, looking provocatively at Ye Lingfeng. What do you think, scared now?
Zhouzhou had been watching the show, but nearly lost her precious hair again, quickly covering her head, pouting at Heavenly Thunder. Mr. Thunder was great, but always picking on the little kids. Hmph!
“Alright, alright, no more fooling around,” Ye Lingfeng cleared his throat, returning to the matter at hand. He pointed to the location below, saying, “Everyone’s gathered, let’s strike those few first.”
As for the rest of Country R, there was no rush; they could wait. They would eventually get their turn. First, they would deal with this worst batch.
Heavenly Thunder glanced down; indeed, those few had hearts blackened almost to coal. It immediately floated toward them.
Before leaving, it shot Ye Lingfeng a look, as if to say, “I’m doing this because you told me to!” If he weren’t the Child of Heaven’s Way, roughly speaking, a brother, it would’ve zapped him long ago!
Peh! He was the silly one!
Watching Heavenly Thunder, Ye Lingfeng stroked his chin, feeling as if he heard it mumbling. It certainly held a grudge.
But it was indeed working hard. In the blink of an eye, Heavenly Thunder had struck down those trying to escape.
Ye Lingfeng observed the scene without an ounce of sympathy. They were undeserving of pity. To think they would drag billions down with them; their worthless lives were not worth it.
Ha.
The seawater rushed back in, sending tremors through the people of Country R. Yet when they saw that the water was only targeting the nuclear power station and those staff members, leaving them unharmed, a thought suddenly surfaced in their minds: This was all retribution!
Could it be that heaven was indeed angry?
They stood in shock and confusion, watching the unfolding scene, uncertain of what the future held.
Over an hour later, Ancestral Master returned, somewhat smug as he reported, “How about that? Just as you said, I’ve pushed all the seawater back.”
As for the water that had already flowed away, there was little he could do. He couldn’t drain the sea entirely. Fortunately, most of it had already returned.
At this time, the nuclear power station was a mess, filled with sewage, with barely any ground left visible. Surrounding the island, Ancestral Master had set up a protective barrier. Previously, it had been to prevent flooding; now, the barrier was to stop any further dumping into the ocean.
What they had discharged would only flow back to them.
Ye Lingfeng watched, letting out a cold laugh. Since they claimed it was harmless, they might as well keep it for themselves!
