Chapter 916: A Black on Black Scheme
Heavenly Thunder either didn’t hear or just ignored them, walking away without looking back, which left Zhouzhou stomping her feet in frustration.
“I want to go too!” The Ancestral Master was equally anxious and tried to rush out.
But Zhouzhou grabbed his ankle, pulling him back. “No way! Ancestral Master, you have to stay here and protect Sharp Tongue Daddy!”
Fine then.
The Ancestral Master glanced at Ye Lingfeng and gave up on his urge to leave. If anything happened, Zhouzhou would definitely hold him accountable, and he’d lose his small helper. He’d have to come back once they rescued Huo Mingxuan!
With that thought, the Ancestral Master’s eyes darted around as he stationed himself by the window, planning to memorize the path ahead.
Before long, the plane began to descend.
Ye Lingfeng stood up, his expression unusually serious. “I’m going first. You all be careful on the way.”
“Dad, you be careful too.” Zhouzhou hugged his leg, looking up at him with concern.
Ye Lingfeng patted her head. “Don’t worry.”
As he spoke, he glanced in Qin Lie’s direction. “When they make their move, stay with Zheng Yu. Don’t run around. I don’t want to go through all this trouble to save Huo Mingxuan only to have you get yourself caught instead.”
He wore a look of disdain as he said it.
Qin Lie nodded, unfazed.
Zhouzhou sighed helplessly. Sharp Tongue Daddy just couldn’t say nice things even when he wanted to be caring. No matter what he said, it just sounded infuriating.
But Ye Lingfeng wouldn’t admit it. He claimed he wasn’t concerned about Qin Lie; he was simply annoyed at the thought of being burdened with him.
By now, the plane had landed.
Just then, Qin Lie’s phone buzzed. It was a message from Lv Hui, saying he was waiting outside.
So eager, huh? Ye Lingfeng smirked coldly.
Qin Lie handed the phone to Ye Lingfeng and set up his fingerprint access.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Ye Lingfeng waved a hand, striding out with the Ancestral Master following close behind.
Outside, he adjusted his stride to be more confident and steady, mimicking Qin Lie’s composure, his handsome face now taut and unreadable.
It wasn’t long before he reached Lv Hui’s car, getting in just like Huo Mingxuan would.
Lv Hui looked at him with a smile. “Thirsty, Mr. Qin? Here, have some water.”
Ye Lingfeng glanced at him coolly, took the bottle, and drank from it without hesitation, catching the faint smile at the corners of Lv Hui’s mouth. He snickered internally. This weak stuff couldn’t even faze Zhouzhou, and yet they thought it would work on him?
Ah, let’s just play along.
He rubbed his temples in a seemingly exhausted gesture. “Why am I suddenly so sleepy?”
Lv Hui replied, “You must be tired. Get some rest. I’ll wake you when we arrive.”
Arrive where? North of Myanmar?
“Alright.” Ye Lingfeng nodded and closed his eyes as if succumbing to drowsiness.

A few minutes later, Lv Hui called out to him a few times. Seeing that he was unresponsive, he excitedly made a call. “Boss, we’ve got the package.”
Meanwhile, Ye Lingfeng discreetly pressed a button on a hidden device.
Connection established.
It was an invisible GPS made by Qin Ren, undetectable by any device. Just to be extra cautious, Zhouzhou had added an invisibility charm over it.
At that moment, a route map appeared on Zheng Yu’s laptop screen.
“They’re on the move,” he said. Zhouzhou hurried over.
Zheng Yu adjusted the map to show a live feed, finally understanding. “So that’s the route they’re taking.”
It made sense; this was a border area, so there were bound to be weak spots. But discovering it was still impressive.
These people were like a nest of rats, adept at digging tunnels.
As they neared the border, Wan Leng said, “Let’s go.”
It was time for their own mission.
“Alright.”
Lan Tian came out from the cockpit, looking thrilled. “How about I join you guys?”
North of Myanmar! Just the thought was exciting.
He was increasingly tempted to join the Fourth Bureau; their missions were so much more thrilling.
“Better not,” Chen Tuo said without hesitation. “Your superior instructed us not to take you along. Focus on flying the plane and wait for our call. Just pick us up when we’re done.”
While Lan Tian was an excellent pilot, he was somewhat lacking in combat skills.
Lan Tian looked disappointed but knew Chen Tuo was right. He sighed. “Alright, you all be careful.”
“Don’t worry.” They wasted no time, exiting the plane and heading toward the border in two cars.
Soon, they entered North of Myanmar’s territory.
They split up, maintaining a bit of distance from each other, feigning unfamiliarity.
Despite this, many people cast greedy eyes on them, as if they were walking stacks of cash.
Zhouzhou’s eyes sparkled.
Villains! All those were walking merit points!
Qin Lie took out a small pair of sunglasses, putting them on her. He squeezed her chubby little hand, signaling her to tone it down.
Her eyes had looked as if she’d wanted to take a bite out of them.
Realizing this, Zhouzhou quickly nodded, but her eyes kept darting around mischievously behind the sunglasses.
Qin Lie said nothing more. Moving around in daylight was risky, so they decided to wait until night to act.
They checked into a hotel, where the receptionist gave them a once-over before slipping away, muttering into her walkie-talkie in a language they couldn’t understand.
Zhouzhou looked up at Qin Lie and whispered, “Dad, she’s a villain too.”
Qin Lie nodded to show he understood.
Though he couldn’t see through people the way Zhouzhou could, he had enough experience to sense things. The hotel staff looked at them the same way as those outside, only with more intensity.
Besides, he’d noticed that more people went in than came out. This place was likely a black market hotel.
Qin Lie gently tugged Zhouzhou’s little ponytail and grinned. “Want to earn some merit points?”
Of course!
Zhouzhou nodded eagerly.
“Then let’s start by collecting a bit of interest from here.”
They were in the trap, but so were their captors.
The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.
And who would turn out to be the oriole? That remained to be seen.
Excited, Zhouzhou’s eyes gleamed. “Dad, I get it! Black eats black!”
Qin Lie pinched her cheek and replied leisurely, “But we’re not black.”
Exactly!
Zhouzhou flashed a row of baby teeth–she was pure as can be!
With a chubby hand on her double chin, she tried hard to think up a phrase. “So, we’re playing possum?”
