Chapter 918: Danger!
He knew that he wouldn’t follow the rules.
Wen Jing shook her head and followed along. Skinny Monkey and the others also came, chuckling, “This is going to be fun.”
There were eight of them in total, and not even a hundred people in the building. Each person only had a bit over ten to handle on average. They needed to hurry, or it would get too boring.
Zheng Yu, in high spirits, happily pulled Qin Lie into a room where surveillance footage from all around the hotel was displayed on the computer screen.
Zhouzhou was the first to encounter someone–a manager they’d seen earlier in the lobby. His eyes widened in shock when he saw her. How could she be here? Shouldn’t she already be unconscious by now? Just as he was about to speak, Zhouzhou flashed him a sweet smile. She lightly tapped her toes, sending her chubby frame flying forward and knocking him down with a single kick. Quickly, she clamped a hand over his mouth, delivered a sharp chop to his neck, knocking him out, and tossed him into a storage room. The entire sequence of movements took less than three seconds.
Watching this, Zheng Yu’s blood boiled with excitement. “Amazing, Zhouzhou!” he exclaimed.
“Of course,” Zhouzhou said, raising her chubby chin proudly. She adjusted her earpiece, signaling him to stay quiet. Then she continued with a swagger, walking in an exaggerated sideways crab-walk.
Seeing this, a hint of amusement flickered in Qin Lie’s eyes. His little girl was truly adorable.
Hearing Zhouzhou had already taken down one person, Chen Tuo grew anxious. Just then, someone appeared in his line of sight, and without a second thought, he knocked them out with a punch. Although he acted casually, he was actually one of the designated operatives in the Dragon Group, so his skills were not lacking, though he was a bit flashy about it. After he’d finished, he even winked at the camera, causing Zheng Yu to cringe in disgust, muttering, “So tacky.”
Jealous! Chen Tuo snorted, resuming his search for others.
Listening to the commotion in her earpiece, Wen Jing shook her head with a “tsk.” So much chatter. Just as she was thinking this, someone appeared in front of her. The person frowned, about to draw a gun. Wen Jing’s lips curved into a smirk, her wrist flicked, and a Body-Freezing Talisman landed on the person’s head. She approached him with a smile, drew a dagger, and swiftly dealt with him, tossing him into a nearby room. Afterward, she leisurely washed her hands, not a single drop of blood on her.
Watching her, Zheng Yu muttered, “Vicious!” He’d always known she wasn’t someone to mess with.
Compared to the others, Wan Leng wasn’t about to show off. Quietly, he worked through his targets, his speed nearly on par with Zhouzhou’s. Qin Lie, watching from the side, felt a slight sense of relief. To others, these were formidable adversaries, but his team was cutting through them like chives, effortlessly showcasing their skills. This reassured him that Zhouzhou was in good hands.
Before long, Zhouzhou had taken care of the last person in the hotel. Cheerfully, she asked, “Did I win, Brother Lightbulb?”
Zheng Yu counted her tally in awe. “You did! Zhouzhou, you took down eighteen people. Wan Leng and Cui Kun each got fifteen.” As he spoke, he double-checked the surveillance, making sure nothing was missed. But just then, his pupils constricted, and his smile vanished.
“Uh-oh, hide!”
At his words, everyone quickly concealed themselves. Qin Lie’s breath caught as his fists clenched tightly by his side.
Zheng Yu’s fingers flew over the keyboard, switching the feed to the hotel’s back entrance. He quickly announced, “People are coming–about eighty of them. And they’re all armed. Be careful.”
More bad guys! Zhouzhou’s eyes lit up. Perfect! She hadn’t had enough fun yet.
Wan Leng silently loaded his gun, his face impassive but his eyes blazing with battle intent. He didn’t want to be tied with Cui Kun, after all. Coincidentally, Cui Kun felt the same way.
As Zheng Yu kept speaking, he had already dug up information on the group. “The newcomers are Wu Wei and his men. Wu Wei is one of the top three crime bosses in northern Myanmar, specializing in fraud. This hotel belongs to him; it’s his supply hub. He used to be a mercenary before settling here after some incidents. His men are all elite.”
Zheng Yu’s heart skipped a beat as he absorbed the information. “It’s best if you all regroup–sticking together is safer.”
But then his brow furrowed. “No, it’s too late. He’s already onto us.”
At that moment, Wu Wei was standing at the hotel’s back entrance, his nose twitching as he caught the faint scent of blood. His brows lifted slightly. Something had clearly gone wrong inside. He quickly signaled his men. A portion of them took positions outside, guns aimed at various exits to prevent anyone from escaping, while the rest headed inside.
Wu Wei licked his lips, his gaze glinting with bloodthirsty anticipation. How long had it been since someone dared to make a move on his turf? He casually pulled out a gun, lazily lifted it, and shot out a camera, making the screen suddenly go black.
Zheng Yu and Qin Lie’s hearts skipped a beat as Zheng Yu frantically switched the feed. His smile faded, his face turning serious. “He’s aware of us. He’s highly alert, so be very careful.”
As he spoke, the screen came back on, and Zheng Yu’s heart sank again. Wu Wei’s men were already sweeping the area, and he himself was moving in a particular direction–a direction where one of their own was.
Zhouzhou!
Qin Lie also saw this, his pupils shrinking. “Zhouzhou, be careful!”
Just then, Wu Wei appeared directly under a camera, looking up as if he could see Zheng Yu through it. His eyes glinted as he sneered, “I can feel your anxiety.”

“It seems someone is very close by.”
“Relax. If you want to watch, I’ll let you watch.”
He started to stroll around leisurely, whistling a little tune, as if teasing them. He seemed either supremely confident or simply arrogant. Noticing this, Qin Lie tensed, almost standing up to leave. But after a deep breath, he sat back down, his gaze heavy.
No, he couldn’t go. If he went, he’d only be a burden to Zhouzhou.
Resolutely, he shut off the screen, switching to another view. His emotions could be a hint to Wu Wei, and he couldn’t promise he’d stay calm.
In his final glance, Wu Wei was less than ten meters away from Zhouzhou…
