Chapter 919: Almost Riddled with Holes
Clack.
Before Qin Lie could let his emotions slip, he quickly tapped the Enter key, switching the view to other members of the team.
Wu Wei paused mid-step and glanced at the camera. Not watching anymore? This guy is quite clever. But even without him, he could still find the target. Twirling the gun in his hand nonchalantly, he drawled, “The game of hide and seek begins. How about a little wager? If I find you within five minutes, I’ll end you. Deal?”
He wasn’t sure which country his opponent was from, so he repeated the sentence in another language. Zhouzhou watched him jabber on in multiple languages, her little face scrunching up in irritation. What’s the big deal? Is he showing off that he knows so many languages, mocking her for being illiterate? Hmph! She could talk to ghosts–could he?
Puffing up her cheeks in silent defiance, Zhouzhou held her breath steadily, keeping utterly quiet while straining her ears to judge the distance.
Three meters.
Two meters.
One meter…
Wu Wei sniffed, catching the faint scent of milk on the air. His lips curled into a bloodthirsty grin as he looked at the corner, just a step away.
Holding his gun tightly, he stepped forward quickly. “Gotcha.”
But upon seeing the empty space, his brow furrowed. No one here? Impossible! Just then, his ears twitched, and he quickly dodged back, instinctively kicking forward–only to feel contact with a leg. But there was clearly no one there!
His pupils contracted, disbelief evident in his eyes. Zhouzhou was equally surprised; he could actually land a hit on her, even without seeing her. This man was no simple opponent.
Without hesitation, Zhouzhou charged at him again.
Wu Wei closed his eyes, yet somehow managed to sense Zhouzhou’s position each time. Looking down at her, he remarked with interest, “So, it’s a little shorty.”
From his opponent’s moves, he could tell that the person he was up against wasn’t very tall. A child, daring to act so brazenly in his territory–how intriguing.
Hearing this, Zhouzhou’s little face dropped, and her strikes became faster. He’s the short one! No, he’s an old shorty! Enraged, Zhouzhou unleashed a flurry of kicks like a rapid-fire cannon.
Even Wu Wei found himself struggling to keep up now. Yet, his eyes sparkled with excitement. Taking a few steps back, he tossed his jacket aside and flexed his wrists. “Shorty, you’ve got my attention now.”
I’m not a shorty! Zhouzhou fumed, lunging at him with such speed she seemed to leave afterimages.
Wu Wei licked his lips–now he was serious, too. His long leg swept out in a powerful arc. Zhouzhou felt the gust coming and quickly dodged, her brow furrowing as she observed him. His strength was immense as well.
Normally, her naturally superior strength gave her an advantage despite her height, but against Wu Wei, she couldn’t gain the upper hand at all.
Qin Lie had tried to resist, but after several minutes, he couldn’t help but bring up a small screen again. When he saw Wu Wei fighting thin air, he instantly understood that Zhouzhou was there. She’d been exposed. They’d crossed paths.
So much for hiding.
Although Qin Lie couldn’t see Zhouzhou, Wu Wei’s demeanor made it clear that she wasn’t at a disadvantage. Zheng Yu, meanwhile, was anxiously tapping away on his keyboard, his forehead beaded with sweat as he monitored multiple surveillance feeds. Seeing Zhouzhou’s screen made him break out in a cold sweat.
If something happens to Zhouzhou, I won’t make it back alive either. The boss would never forgive us.
Wu Wei and Zhouzhou had been fighting for almost half an hour now without a clear winner.
Something felt off.
Qin Lie scrutinized the screen, zooming in on Wu Wei. Is he just sparring with Zhouzhou? He’s normally not the type to play fair. Qin Lie sensed something amiss and checked the surveillance feeds of the others.
Everyone else was fighting formidable opponents, but thanks to their rich combat experience, Wan Leng and the others managed to handle their foes without getting bogged down. Zhouzhou was the only one still locked in a struggle.
Wan Leng and his team were now making their way towards Zhouzhou. Qin Lie noticed that Wu Wei’s occasional glances aligned perfectly with the direction of their approach. He can sense their presence, too! He knew he was about to be surrounded, yet he didn’t show a hint of panic or intention to escape. Is he confident he can take them all on, or does he have something else planned?
Qin Lie’s hands clenched tightly as he focused intently on Wu Wei. Suddenly, he noticed Wu Wei’s gaze sweeping in a particular direction. Reflecting on Wu Wei’s movements, he realized he’d been maneuvering Zhouzhou toward that area the whole time.

Qin Lie’s eyes widened in realization, seeing the smirk forming on Wu Wei’s lips. He quickly shouted, “Zhouzhou, don’t back up–it’s a trap!”
Hearing him, Zhouzhou glanced back, then quickly slid along the ground and grabbed Wu Wei’s leg.
Wu Wei’s expression shifted as he tried to wrench free, but Zhouzhou moved even faster, throwing him over her shoulder.
In midair, Wu Wei twisted, desperately leaping toward the window. His hand barely touched the ground before a barrage of bullets ripped through the air.
He grunted, clutching his shoulder as he jumped out. Zhouzhou, having thrown him out, quickly hid. When the noise subsided, she peeked out, and seeing the bullet holes riddling the wall, broke out in a cold sweat.
So close–she was almost riddled with holes!
No wonder she hadn’t seen any hotel staff in this area during the battle.
Qin Lie shot to his feet, striding out with urgency. “Don’t chase him!” he ordered firmly.
They were strangers here, unaware of hidden traps. Unlike the Fourth Bureau, where traps only fired arrows, here they were lethal bullets.
Hearing him, Zhouzhou nodded obediently.
Before long, Chen Tuo arrived. “Zhouzhou!”
Zhouzhou turned to him, removed her Invisibility Talisman, and ran over with quick steps. “Hey, little brother, are you okay?”
“All good, all good.” Chen Tuo scrutinized her closely. “You’re not hurt, right?”
Zhouzhou shook her head. “I’m fine. I ran into a big bad guy, though, and even though I used the Invisibility Talisman, he could still sense me.”
“He tried to lure me over there, but luckily Dad warned me.”
Chen Tuo glanced at the wall peppered with holes, his heart sinking as he realized how close they’d come to disaster.
He grabbed Zhouzhou’s hand and urged, “Let’s go. We’re getting out of here.”
This place was far too dangerous.
Shortly after, Wan Leng and the others caught up, and Qin Lie and Zheng Yu arrived with the luggage in tow.
Qin Lie spoke up immediately, “Let’s leave, now.”
