Chapter 985: Visiting Mrs. Wang
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Wang froze for a moment, and tears began to fall from her eyes.
Her body was weak, and Zhouzhou hurried to help her sit down.
It took a while for Mrs. Wang to stop crying. Gradually, the determination in her eyes began to grow, and she said, “Let me see him. I know what his wish was.”
“Okay,” Zhouzhou nodded in agreement. After all, such a good person shouldn’t have to die without being able to reincarnate.
She took out a Heavenly Eye talisman and handed it to her.
After thinking for a moment, she added another talisman. This second one would protect her from the influence of Dr. Wang’s yin energy, otherwise, her body might not withstand it.
Mrs. Wang felt a chill on her eyes. She blinked, and the next moment, when she opened her eyes again, a transparent figure suddenly appeared before her.
Upon seeing the figure, her tears fell uncontrollably, and she murmured, “Honey.”
Seeing that she could see him, Dr. Wang’s tears also fell.
But worried that he might affect her, he stood some distance away and did not approach.
Seeing this, Zhouzhou said, “It’s fine, Uncle Wang, you can come closer and talk now. Nothing will happen.”
Dr. Wang froze for a moment, looking at her for confirmation. After seeing her nod, he let out a sigh of relief and quickly walked up to his wife. He took her hand in his, and before he could speak, tears fell first.
Zhouzhou couldn’t bear to watch this scene and buried her small head in Ye Lingfeng’s arms.
Ye Lingfeng held her, and with a serious expression, he began to walk out, leaving the space for the couple.
“Daddy,” Zhouzhou mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder, “Do you think they will keep this baby?”
“They will,” Ye Lingfeng nodded, his words concise. “The dead cannot make decisions for the living.”
He glanced at Mrs. Wang’s expression, which did not look like someone who could be easily persuaded.
Zhouzhou thought for a moment and agreed.
But then, she couldn’t help but sigh, “She’ll be very lonely raising the baby on her own, won’t she?”
This, indeed, was the reason her parents had urged her to abort the baby.
Raising a child alone would be hard, and she would have to bear everything herself.
Thinking about it, Ye Lingfeng didn’t say anything.
Zhouzhou turned to look at him and asked, “Dad, do you miss Mom?”
When Mom was pregnant with her, Dad was already in prison. If not for the bad people abandoning her, Mom would have prepared to raise her on her own.
Hearing this, Ye Lingfeng didn’t hide his feelings and nodded, “Yes, I miss her very much.”
Zhouzhou nuzzled her face against his, “When we get back, let’s go visit Mom. I miss her too.”
“Alright.”
After that, the two fell silent.
When Dr. Wang came out, what he saw was the sight of father and daughter sitting side by side, leaning against each other, looking peaceful. But it was still incomplete.
He wiped his tears and walked over with a smile. “Zhouzhou, thank you.”

Zhouzhou looked up and shook her head. “It’s nothing. I only help good people. Uncle is a good person.”
Dr. Wang smiled faintly, but his expression quickly darkened again.
“I’m a good doctor, but unfortunately, I wasn’t a good husband or a good father.”
As he spoke, his gaze drifted to the window in the direction of his home, and tears welled up in his eyes.
Zhouzhou followed his gaze and asked, “Uncle Wang, have you made the decision?”
“She still insists on having the baby. She said she wants someone in this world to be connected to me.”
Upon hearing this, Ye Lingfeng squeezed Zhouzhou’s hand and gently stroked it.
Zhouzhou felt it and glanced at him, gently nudging her head against his chest, silently comforting his emotions.
Noticing her small gesture, Ye Lingfeng’s lips curled into a faint smile.
Dr. Wang looked at them, and the furrow in his brow seemed to loosen. Perhaps, they’ve made the right choice.
He was gone now, but at least someone would be there to accompany her.
Taking a deep breath, he said, “I respect her decision. Sometimes, what I thought was best for her wasn’t what she truly wanted.”
Zhouzhou nodded, “Exactly. That’s the way it is.”
“Besides, Auntie is pregnant now. She needs to rest. If everyone keeps pressuring her to make a decision she doesn’t want, it will only make her more upset.”
“Yes,” Dr. Wang nodded, acknowledging that he had come to terms with it.
Thinking back to what she had said, his heart slowly relaxed.
She had said that if she met someone suitable in the future, she would remarry. She wouldn’t stay a widow forever.
That was good. He just wanted her to live well and have her own life.
She had thought it through, and this was her well-considered conclusion. He no longer tried to persuade her.
Just as he was thinking this, his form suddenly flickered.
Looking down, he saw that his body was becoming increasingly transparent.
Zhouzhou looked at him and said, “Uncle, you’re going to reincarnate now. I wish you a good next life.”
So that was it.
Dr. Wang smiled at her, then looked towards the direction of the upstairs and waved his hand.
By the window, Mrs. Wang gazed at him, her tears clouding her vision.
In just a few seconds, Dr. Wang was completely gone.
Zhouzhou looked up at the floor above and then took out a bank card from her bag. “Dad, let’s find someone to take care of her.”
“Okay,” Ye Lingfeng had no objections.
He made a phone call, and soon contacted a nanny.
Zhouzhou took a quick glance at the nanny’s features and confirmed that she was a good person, before leading her upstairs.
“Auntie,” Zhouzhou ran upstairs and told Mrs. Wang, “Uncle Wang has hired someone to take care of you. If you need anything, you can come to find me.”
Mrs. Wang chuckled a little, touched by her concern, and went over to pat Zhouzhou’s head gently. “Thank you.”
Zhouzhou blinked and flashed a big smile at her, knowing that she had figured it out.
“You’re welcome, Auntie. Please don’t refuse. You need someone to take care of you now.”
“You have to be healthy to give birth to the baby safely.”
“Alright,” Mrs. Wang thought for a moment. “But I’ll pay for the nanny myself.”
There were still some savings in the house, and with her husband gone, the government had given them a subsidy. So, they weren’t in dire straits.
The main reason was that Zhouzhou had already helped her so much. If it weren’t for her, she might have lost her child today.
She couldn’t keep taking advantage of her.
Zhouzhou blinked. “Alright.”
Mrs. Wang then asked what the nanny’s monthly salary was, and she was told it was 2,000.
Hearing this, Mrs. Wang was a little surprised. Was it really so low?
The nanny sighed, “Life is hard right now. Many people have quit their jobs. I’m doing this because my own child lost their job. As long as it’s enough to cover my food and rent, it would be fine by me.”
In reality, the nanny was actually paid 5,000 a month, and Zhouzhou made up the difference. She even instructed her to say it was 2,000, and then she gave her five years’ worth of salary in advance.
By the time five years had passed, the child would likely be able to attend kindergarten, and Mrs. Wang would probably have her work situation sorted out by then—everything would be just right.
Even this outsider couldn’t help but feel moved by how kind this little girl was.
Mrs. Wang didn’t know the market rate and believed the nanny’s words.
After having the nanny cook a meal and finding that her cooking was good, she nodded in approval.
Zhouzhou waved goodbye to her.
Just as she was about to leave, a beam of light suddenly fell on her.
Zhouzhou had never seen it coming, and she paused her steps…
