Chapter 1292: New Uniforms
By this time, a lot of the enemies were struggling to move because of the poison from the arrows. Most of them were around his level, and he couldn’t one-shot them, but the poison was definitely instrumental in his lethality.

Loki nodded, satisfied with the effect.

Not to mention Miss Althea’s big brain, the addition of Grandmaster Hoffen in the territory ensured that a lot of potent poisons would soon be available to them.

The trouble here was that he needed some time to douse the arrows every time he refilled his quiver, which was essentially his ‘reloading’ period.

He couldn’t coat the arrows before the fight because the poison was strong and would destroy the arrowheads after a minute of contact with the poison.

Kon wasn’t too stupid and had noticed this pattern after several instances of witnessing it. So the moment Loki had to reload, the man screamed at his teammates near him.

“GET HIM!!” Kon yelled, already running towards him. “GET HIM NOW!”

“GET THE ANTIDOTE!”

People started converging to where Loki was.

Loki’s blank face didn’t change and he continued shooting, targeting those who were getting close to him, making people have second thoughts.

Kon saw this and just felt livid. “HE HAS A LOWER LEVEL THAN MOST OF YOU! DON’T YOU FEEL ASHAMED!?

“ATTACK HIM RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON’T WANT ME TO STAB YOU MYSELF!”

A lot of the people hit had fallen, while the surviving ones converged to get Loki. The higher level ones leaped up to the balcony. There were three of them. They thought the bastard finally had no place to go!

Loki was standing on one of the balconies of the houses. On all sides, there was someone stretching their arms to get him. Instead of staying though, Loki jumped off and the wind seemed to flow as it followed him.

Loki leaped off the easily-accessible balcony, but instead of falling down, wind surrounded him and lifted him up.

He did it with such grace that everyone knew it was not normal.

Sadly, they didn’t have the time to react because before the bastard even landed, his sharp arrowhead was already pointing at them.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The three men fell down at the same time. Because they were relatively near him and in eye level (and distractedly staring straight at him), Loki was able to hit them straight through their eyes and through their brains, killing them.

Loki nodded. He got one-shot kills too rarely in this war, he was starting to feel lacking.

Kon screamed. He was heading to Loki when he ‘flew’ and he was forced to change his direction suddenly, the momentum making him slide.

He was in a bit of pain and was angry as heck, he was waving his sword around as he headed to Loki, hitting his own people along the way.

Before he could get there, the darned bastard jumped again, this time staying in the air for a few seconds.

Loki controlled the small tornado beneath his feet. His flight was assisted by his uniform, allowing him to stay afloat for a few seconds while using the crossbow. He landed on a nearby roof, and the enemies couldn’t get to him fast enough before he took them down.

As for how his uniform was like this, the guard uniforms had been upgraded after a lot of discussions among the experts.

In fact, all elementalists in the Guard team had specially designed uniforms for them. With the cooperation of Andrei and Lenny, they created uniforms that could assist with the fighters’ battles depending on what their elements were.

For instance, as a wind elementalist, Loki’s was made of aerodynamic material like the silky fabric. It was both durable and resistant to wind turbulence.

There were also certain pockets that would appear to inflate a bit when wind came from a certain direction (as long as he unlocked the set button) which would allow him to temporarily float gracefully without much effort.

Water elementalists would have extra packets for water, which would easily slide out if they needed water to control.

It also had a quality to passively collect dew in the air. It was much more efficient to control water in its liquid form, after all.

Earth users would have uniforms that would allow them to efficiently go underground and move in it.

All uniforms had flame-retardant qualities into them as well, which was especially useful to fire users who had to worry about their own clothing catching fire.

Once, this happened with Luke while he was showing off his fire-breathing skills to a bunch of girls. He ended up setting his clothing on fire, but thankfully his level was high enough so he didn’t get too burned.

The girls had quite a bit of eyecandy that day, though.

Anyway, at this time, Loki had already reloaded a new batch and had begun his shooting spree again.

This time? He was doing it mid-air.

When Kon was hit again, this time once in the arm and the other on the chest. He gritted his teeth, feeling his defense equipment’s durability dropping at a strong rate.

Loki jumped up again to avoid him, using another tornado while drinking another damned mana potion.

Kon took this as his chance and jumped, raising his weapon and ready to pummel the man.

He screamed, muscles tense, and even used one of his most mana-consuming skills [Stromcleave], which compressed a huge amount of aether into a sharp force that could divide a lower-leveled person in half.

“DIE!” he bellowed, releasing the skill to the floating Loki.

Unexpectedly, the tornado under Loki disappeared, and gravity did its work and assisted Loki in avoiding the shot. The shot flew up into the sky, eventually dissipating, causing no damage to anything at all!

In the meantime, Kon could no longer stop his momentum and he fell down headfirst. He quickly turned to the side as he attempted to land on his feet.

However, his eyes widened when he saw the crossbow just a couple of inches away from his face before he even landed.

Whoosh!

And when Kon reached the ground…, he fell down as a corpse with an arrow through his mouth.
