Chapter 1149: Green tree monster!

I was worried that the Class-10 Crocodile Monster could be here. Seeing that there was no sound whatsoever, I was relieved. Then I cast aside my thoughts and used my flight ability to soar over the swamp land.

Time flew by.

After flying for an hour, I finally spotted a group of warriors. They were going forward in the same direction. Among the 5-member group, one of them suddenly stopped his movements and turned around to look at me.

I knew I was exposed. I didn’t expect to come across the Dark Shadow University’s warriors again; I guess I really had an ill-fated relationship with them.

The 5 of them appeared to be middle-aged people, likely warriors like the hidden ace Stephen, who might be suppressing their breakthroughs to find powerful Inheritance.

“Hey, we got another trash from the Star University!”

“Maybe we can use him to explore the way forward.”

“Good idea!”

“The forbidden area is not easy to explore.”

The 5 of them discussed in low tones before approaching the Star University Warrior.

“If you don’t want to die, obediently follow us,” a long-nosed middle-aged warrior said first.

Hearing that, I was stunned. Then I figured out that they must have found a way to the forbidden area. It was going to benefit me, so I nodded to them while pretending to be scared.

“Good, you are sensible,” the middle-aged man said with a laugh.

In a flash, one of them moved behind me. Next, one appeared on my right side and another one appeared on my left side. The two in front of me started leading me toward the destination.

The 5 Dark Shadow University Warriors had no clue; they thought they had succeeded in luring out the Star University Warriors.

It didn’t take long for us to reach a dense dark forest. So much so that not even daylight was passing through the dense forest. I started to feel uneasy.

Each forbidden area is guarded by a Class-10 Monster. I didn’t know whether these people had any clue because I had fought against one.

“Here it is!”

“The forbidden ruin must be located deep inside.” After saying that, the long-nosed warrior started to discuss among themselves.

They had totally forgotten about me. Maybe they thought I was powerless against them. Then I started to understand what was going on.

Apparently, they had received news from some other team. They must have wiped them out before coming here.

The long-nosed warrior turned toward me and said, “If you want to live a little longer, then continue to explore.”

I nodded to them before entering the forest. From their discussion, it was clear they had no idea about the Class-10 Monster. Maybe I could use this chance to get back at them.

I took my black sword and started to cut down the long branches of the trees before going further. The 5 of them were casually following me from behind.

My mouth curved into an arc. I didn’t know what type of Class-10 Monster was guarding here. I was hoping it would appear quickly.

Time flew by.

As we got closer to the core area of the forest, a sense of uneasiness gripped my heart. I was sure the destination was ahead.

Swoosh!

In the next second, I caught something in my perception moving at high speed. The two warriors were moving slightly ahead of me. They were unaware of the threat.

I immediately moved my body to the left. The middle man flying on my left was startled. Before he could say anything, I punched his face.

Whack!

His nose broke instantly. A torrent of blood gushed forth from the injury. Before the others could realize what had happened, I fled from the spot.

In the next few seconds, the warriors realized what happened.

Boom!

Out of nowhere, a sharp tree branch tore through the chests of the two warriors in front, one by one. It happened in the blink of an eye.

The broken-nosed warrior and the other two were startled. But then the tree branch didn’t stop; it continued to dash toward them.

The broken-nosed warrior turned around to flee. Yet the tree branch appeared in a flash before penetrating his heart. The warrior died unwillingly.

The remaining two warriors started fleeing in a different direction. But then another two branches appeared out of nowhere before dashing toward them.

On the other hand, I was watching the scene from a distance. If I moved my body, it was possible for the tree branch to target me. So, I stood like a frozen statue while watching the slaughter in front of my eyes.

Of all the monsters, I hated the tree monsters. They were very annoying to deal with. Unless you find the main tree, it’s impossible to kill them.

I thought it would be easy to enter this forbidden area, but it seemed to be more dangerous than the one guarded by the Mountain Ape Monster.

After casting aside my thoughts, I continued to observe the situation through my perception. When the noise subsided, there was no sign of tree branches moving anymore.

I slowly started to move forward. Since it was confirmed that there was a forbidden place in this area, I was going to find it by myself.

To be cautious, I didn’t even bother to cut down the overgrown bushes and branches. As time passed, the sense of uneasiness grew stronger.

A few minutes later,

I finally spotted the broken stone structures ahead. A hint of relief flashed in my eyes. Since it’s a place, I now had to be wary of the Class-10 Monster.

There were many trees surrounding the area. I wondered which one of them was the actual monster. I began to concentrate and tried to find some clues through my perception.

I observed the tree branches. One after another, my attention shifted to the different trees around the broken stone structure.

Then my gaze paused on a seemingly ordinary-looking tree. It was also one of the shortest green trees in this area.
