- Chapter 889 - Chapter 889 Meeting Jonathan after long time
Chapter 889: Meeting Jonathan after long time Chapter 889: Meeting Jonathan after long time A few hours later, Rupert returned to his place after eliminating the monster.
Fortunately, he’d encountered only one this time, helping to prevent further injury.
However, the problem wasn’t over yet.
There was another space crack, slowly repairing itself.
It could take a while to vanish.
Something was amiss; this wasn’t the usual pattern.
Rupert realized he’d likely need to guard the area until the space crack closed, but his current condition made this challenging.
He took another healing potion and closed his eyes to rest.
…
The following day, I woke up late.
After getting out of bed, I started my morning routine.
Then I went to the bath after a few minutes.
The bath took another 20 minutes.
I walked out and then changed into my Federation uniform.
Today, I decided to go to Delta City.
It had been a while since I last saw Jonathan.
I hadn’t expected him to become a Black Mark Warrior so soon.
I heard it might take people decades or so to feel the barrier.
Which means Jonathan’s talent was high to begin with.
Then I began to get ready.
After combing my hair, I looked into the mirror.
Satisfied with my appearance, I left the room.
I reached the lobby after walking out of the lift.
The staff were surprised to see me.
A few of them quickly came forward to congratulate me.
I thanked them before stepping out of the HQ building.
I knew that euphoria would take time to die down.
I think it would be the same for at least one or two weeks.
Then I started walking towards the Teleportation Platform.
I don’t know why, but I felt much more relaxed today.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Like a free bird.
I think yesterday’s news of Star University’s acceptance had an effect on me.
Perhaps, the shadow of insecurity had disappeared from my heart and mind.
At least, in the inner post region, no one could touch a University Student.
But before all of that, I had to officially enroll.
I hoped that day would come sooner.
After walking for a few minutes, I reached the Teleportation Platform.
The guards recognized me instantly.
After another round of congratulations and thanking, I stepped inside the platform.
Then I entered my destination, which was Delta City.
I activated the server.
The next moment, the platform activated.
Swoosh!
I disappeared from the spot.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the Delta City’s Teleportation Platform.
The guards here were stunned upon seeing me.
“Hello,” I nodded at them before leaving the place.
It took them a moment to realize.
But before they could say anything, I appeared in midair and started flying towards Lowell Castle.
While flying, I looked around the city.
The place was thriving with an influx of people.
Today, the city looked different.
Several new structures could be seen everywhere.
Outsiders would be surprised to know that the city was under attack some time ago.
I guess it’s thanks to the Teacher that the city has returned to normalcy.
Shortly afterward, Lowell Castle came into view.
After getting closer, I descended to the ground.
Touching the ground, I started walking.
Being back in this familiar place, past events vividly appeared in my mind.
The McClain Family had come here to see me for the first time, but they had rejected me.
Thinking about the McClain Family’s plight now, I sighed inwardly.
They must be deeply regretting their actions by now.
I pushed these thoughts aside and continued walking.
After walking further, the Castle Gate appeared in view.
I had come without informing Teacher.
I wondered whether he was currently inside the Castle.
…
After walking in front of the Castle, I decided to call the Teacher.
“Young Master, you are back!” A loud female voice broke my thoughts.
I turned around to see a female maid walking towards me.
I remembered her working in the Castle back then.
“Yes, I came here without informing the Teacher,” I replied.
The female maid walked up to the gate.
A monitor screen was attached to the next wall.
She scanned her ID.
Creak!
The big Castle Gate opened.
She invited me.
I smiled at her before walking inside.
“Looks like they’ve made several changes after the Castle attack,” I thought to myself.
“Young Master!” “Young Master Zack is here!” One after another, loud exclamations sounded.
Many maids and servants recognized my face immediately.
I smiled and started speaking to them.
Not long after, someone else appeared.
It was none other than Jonathan.
Compared to before, the energy around him was different and powerful.
But he was still weaker than a Silver Mark Warrior.
“Zack, you’ve shocked everyone with your win,” Jonathan said.
Hearing Jonathan’s voice, I turned around to see him.
He looked the same, but I sensed danger from him now.
“I thought you would take a long time to break through,” I replied.
“I was lucky and had a fortuitous encounter as well,” Jonathan replied.
We then walked inside the building.
After entering the hall, I saw the room was neatly arranged with furniture and other wooden items.
I sat on the sofa, and Jonathan sat opposite me.
“During my seclusion, I heard about your news from time to time.
But your growth has been fast.
Not only did you do well in the Top List Competition but also won the two internal competitions,” Jonathan said.
“It’s all thanks to Teacher and the Federation Head.
If they hadn’t provided me with resources, I wouldn’t have been able to break through so fast,” I replied honestly.
From Elite to Super Elite Rank, and then to SS-ELITE Rank, the journey was tough but very fast.
Jonathan sighed inwardly.
He knew Zack was talented; he had personally seen his growth.
But right now, he was shocked.
After leaving the outer post region, he thought Zack had experienced exponential growth.
There might be multiple reasons for this, including the fact that the world energy here is better than in the outer post region.
We continued to speak for a few more minutes.
Then I asked, “Where is Teacher?” Hearing this, Lowell’s expression changed for a moment.
He tried his best to hide it.
On the other hand, I felt something was wrong.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Master went for an important mission.
‘I don’t know when he’ll be back,'” Jonathan asked.
Hearing that, I furrowed my eyebrows.
He was speaking as if it were just another mission.
Something felt off, but I couldn’t pinpoint why.
“‘Alright, you can wait for him here.
I think you want to spend time in the castle,'” Jonathan said.
After talking to him, I decided to enter the underground chamber to practice.
At least, I could focus on something.
Next, I went to the underground chamber.
The place resembled the one in the HQ building, but these chambers were less powerful.
Nevertheless, I wanted to use them.
I decided to start with the illusion chamber.
It had been a while since I’d used it.
Then I walked inside and activated the monitor system.
I walked to the middle of the platform and sat cross-legged on the ground.
The illusion chamber activated.
A whooshing sound filled the air as white mist erupted, engulfing the room.
Though I hadn’t closed my eyes, I found myself in a different environment.
“What a powerful technology!” I thought to myself.
The familiar rainforest materialized before me.
The illusion environment typically reflected one’s own memories.
Suddenly, a booming sound echoed through the chamber.
A colossal monster, a monstrous worm to be exact, emerged from the ground.
A sense of déjà vu washed over me.
Gripping my black sword tightly, I braced myself for the attack.
The monstrous worm lunged towards me with ferocious speed.
“Sword Divide!” I yelled, unleashing a powerful lightning attack.
A bolt of crackling energy erupted from my blade, striking the creature’s body.
The monster shrieked in pain.
Seizing the opportunity, I charged forward, sword held high.
The earth trembled beneath the monster’s immense weight as I vanished from my spot.
With a deft sidestep, I evaded the attack.
Reappearing beside the beast, I plunged my sword deep into its flesh.
A geyser of yellowish liquid erupted from the wound.
Relentlessly, I unleashed another strike.
Streaks of lightning erupted from my blade, searing the wound and inflicting further damage.
My movements were faster than ever before.
In a blur of motion, I landed several blows on the monstrous worm.
Moments later, the creature crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
As the illusion shifted, I found myself facing a new foe: a colossal blood mosquito monster.
With a swift swing of my sword, I cleaved the creature in two.
One by one, I cut down the monstrous mosquitoes that materialized within the chamber.
After a few minutes, the environment transformed once more.
This time, a monstrous snake materialized before me.
Each monstrous adversary I faced triggered a sense of familiarity.
The training session continued within the ever-shifting illusion chamber.
