Chapter 979: Lightning King Chapter 979: Lightning King From MC’s Perspective: Buzz!

The notification sound broke my concentration.

I opened my eyes and saw it was a call from Master Ann.

I immediately answered the call.

“Master,” I said.

“Zack, it’s time for you to appear.

Go to the Virtual Training Lab right now.

The three warriors in the SSS-ELITE rank have registered their names and are going to duel against you shortly,” Ann’s voice came through the other end.

“Okay, Master.

I’m going,” I replied.

After ending the call, I focused on my body and checked my dantian.

It was filled with purple lightning essence.

I figured it was enough for me to fight in continuous duels.

I stood up and walked to the console to turn off the function.

As I did, the remaining world energy began to deplete rapidly.

I opened the door and started to walk out.

Master Ann had instructed me to go to the Virtual Training Lab, but my back was drenched in sweat.

I decided I needed a quick shower first.

So, I rushed back to my residence.

About 25 minutes later, I walked out of the Thunderflame Faction territory, feeling ready.

With no one following me, I started walking towards the Virtual Training Lab.

I had a map with me that outlined the route, so I continued toward my destination.

Meanwhile, three warriors from the Thunderflame Faction had already gathered in the Training Facility inside the Virtual Training Lab building.

They were Rosie, an SSS-ELITE Peak Stage Warrior with the element of blue lightning; Iron, a bulky warrior and SSS-ELITE Mid-Stage with the element of Red Forest Fire; and Russel, a slender-looking SSS-ELITE Peak Stage Warrior with the element of green lightning.

The three of them stood in front of the training room.

“Where is he?” Rosie muttered to herself.

She was the first to arrive and was now feeling curious.

The other two arrived shortly after her.

Their names had spread throughout the Thunderflame Faction, and everyone was looking forward to this matchup.

“He must be on his way,” Iron said, crossing his arms.

“When did Elder Ann accept a disciple?

Why did she post a task to help the newcomer?” Russel asked, sounding doubtful.

“It’s impossible.

He is a lightning-element warrior, and Elder Ann is a healer.

There has to be another reason,” Iron countered.

Hearing their conversation, Rosie shook her head.

A few minutes later, I arrived at the tower-shaped glass building.

The architecture seemed to fit the name of the Virtual Training Lab perfectly.

Not many people were walking by, allowing me to enter the building easily.

“Do you need any help?” A beautiful voice reached my ears.

I turned to see a middle-aged lady in a black suit.

“Hi, I’m here for the virtual fights,” I said to her.

“Good, my name is Olivia.

I’m the staff member in charge here.

You can go to the second floor; the Training Facility is there,” she patiently explained.

I thanked her before moving toward the lift.

Shortly afterwards, I exited the lift and saw three people standing in front of a room next to me.

Realization hit me: they must be the warriors who were going to challenge me.

They turned to me, sensing my gaze.

“Hi, I’m Zack Lockwood,” I introduced myself.

The three of them appeared surprised.

“You’re late, but it’s okay.

My name is Rosie.

I’m part of Black Flame Palace,” Rosie said, smiling.

“I’m Iron, part of Ice and Fire Palace,” Iron said with a wide grin.

“And I’m Russel; I’m part of Lightning Wolf Palace,” Russel said, his expression indifferent.

I smiled in response.

The opponents were strong-two of them from the Main Elder factions.

The last one, from Lightning Wolf Palace, was known for having only a few but exceptionally strong members.

All three could push me to use my full strength.

“Alright, let’s go inside,” I said.

Creak!

We entered the room, and the door shut automatically behind us.

“Wow, we have visitors here,” an old voice greeted us.

I turned to see an older man in a white coat addressing us.

“We’re here for the virtual duel; it was the task assigned in the Thunderflame Faction,” Rosie explained to the old man.

“My name is Daniel; I’m the Supervisor here.

We have already received notification regarding the virtual duels, so you all have virtual accounts,” he said.

“Yes,” the three of them replied, while I remained silent.

“I’m the newcomer here, so this will be my first experience,” I stated.

“It’s easy to create a virtual account.

Once inside the pod chamber, just follow the instructions to create an account,” the old man said.

“Okay,” I replied.

The old man turned to the others and asked, “Share your usernames so that the young man can send a duel request.” Hearing this, Rosie and two others provided their usernames.

The old man then gave us some basic instructions.

We were asked to enter the pod chamber, and after stepping inside, I put on the helmet as instructed.

I closed the top door securely.

The next moment, the lights turned on, and the helmet activated.

I felt my consciousness being pulled into a different space.

It felt unreal.

This was my first experience with such advanced technology.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself standing on solid ground.

I was in the middle of a blue sphere; it was a virtual space designed for the duel.

Buzz!

In the next instant, a blue screen appeared in front of me, displaying instructions for new users.

I followed the prompts to create an ID, using the name “Lightning King.” After creating the ID, I sent duel requests to three users.

Outside the pod chamber, Old Man Daniel looked at the large blue screen displaying the scenes of four warriors inside the blue virtual space.

When he saw the ID name “Lightning King,” he shook his head.

“This kid is clueless.

That name is going to offend many people,” the old man said to himself with a smile.

The Virtual Training Lab is accessible to the entire Star University community.

Everyone has a virtual ID, including all halls and elders.

This duel would be recorded and could be watched by anyone with a virtual ID at Star University whenever a virtual duel took place.

Students would receive a link to view the duel, meaning the name “Lightning King” would be seen by many.

The old man wondered whether the news would circulate, but he thought Zack’s reaction would be worth watching.

Rosie, Iron, and Russel accepted the duel request, all surprised by the ID name.

Even the Purple Mark Warriors don’t typically dare to use the word “king” in their usernames.

For now, they could only wish him good luck.

Once the duel request was accepted, all warriors with virtual IDs received messages about it.

Some who were busy disregarded the messages, while others felt curious.

It is not easy to use the Virtual Training Lab; registration for a duel is required first, followed by a waiting period for the request to be processed and approved.

There are only a few hundred pod chambers in the Virtual Training Lab, and they require careful maintenance, so unnecessary duels are not permitted.

Consequently, many were interested in watching the duel.

Among the Thunderflame Faction, everyone accepted the link to watch the virtual duel, which was about to begin shortly.

Elder Austin and Elder Ann accepted the viewing link from their palace.

A few mid-level elders from the Thunderflame Faction, such as Clinton Francis and Sally Johns, also accepted the link.

They had recruited Zack Lockwood to Star University and convinced him to join their faction.

Both were shocked by Zack’s progress, having two main elders as his masters during this time.

They were thrilled to watch this duel.

However, the link wasn’t just accepted by the Thunderflame Faction members; warriors from other factions, including those from the Top 10 Factions, also joined in.

Inside the Dark Variant Faction, Ronnie was at his residence when he casually accepted the link from the Virtual Training Lab to watch the duel.

But when he saw the usernames and their faction names, he was stunned and stared at the screen.

“Is it him?” he asked himself, noticing that the challengers were identified as SSS-ELITE Rank Warriors.

His instincts told him something significant was about to happen.

Suddenly, the scene shifted, revealing a blue space where two warriors stood facing each other.

He focused on the male warrior, knowing he would never forget that face.

“This is him,” he murmured to himself.

However, when he saw the username, his mouth twitched.

He hesitated, realizing he couldn’t take such a risk.

“He’s about to face a storm of challenges,” he thought, a smile creeping onto his face.

“It seems our members in the Dark Variant Faction won’t have to lift a finger.” Now, he was determined to confirm his suspicions.

He knew that Zack Lockwood’s purple lightning was unusual, and this duel would provide him with valuable information.

Settling comfortably on the couch, Ronnie fixed his gaze on the screen, ready to watch.
